Hello to all. Been so busy and just have not been home much. Had a really good time eating at the church Wednesday night. We were carrying our piled high plates to a table and his dessert was sitting on top of his and he dropped his cake. I tried to help him and stuck my ta-ta in my gravy. We laughed. Terry gave me a bunch of napkins for me to clean up with but he did not kid me about it. He drove his 98 Mustang. It was really neat. I have not gotten out of a car that low in many years. It was my first time riding in one. I thought it was fun.

Yesterday it was chilly and when he picked me up in his big truck that I have to climb into, (one extreme to the other) it was so warm. He said that he remembered I did not like leather because it was cold on my .... so he heated the seat for me on the way over. I do like the heated seats. Anyway, we went to his sister's. She also used to live across the street from me. Out of the 4 children, they were always very close. I have such a good time going down there cutting up.

I skipped the gym today and went walking with my ex-bro-in-law again. That is the 3rd time this week we have walked. I think he likes having someone to walk with and I like the fresh air and it is a really nice trail. Walked a little over 2 miles. It seems to hurt my knee worse than on the treadmill but I think it is because of going up and down hills. That is a good workout though.

Terry called today but he did not say anything about doing something this weekend. But I had fun for two days in a row so that is okay. I need to stay home tomorrow and get some stuff done. I am going to wash the new sheets tomorrow and get them on the bed. They are so soft and I can't wait to sleep in them. They feel just like the soft throws I use on the couch. Soft and warm! I'm ready for winter. heehee

Hope y'all have a great weekend.

Forgot to tell you. I have been racking my brain trying to think of something I could get Terry for Christmas. Well the other night I woke up because of the rain and was thinking about things. I remembered hearing Terry talking to his grandson about his drone. So, I wrote to his grandson on Facebook and told him what I was looking for and one that I wanted his opinion on that I was looking at on Amazon. He wrote me back and thought it was a great idea and sent me another one that he said he thought was a little better. (it was also about $25 dollars cheaper too).

Now I am just keeping my fingers crossed that it will get here in time. It says delivery for the 21st and I usually get things a little earlier. I know it is Christmas so we will see. If it does not get here, I will just print it out and show him what is on the way. I cannot remember the last time I was excited at Christmas.

Good morning Rat2 and lurkers

Was up around midnight and finally fell back asleep a little after 4. After I dug through my side table drawer for some ear plugs. Had the alarm set for 7.

The drone sounds perfect, Rat2. I love that you are having so much fun with Terry.

I need to get a move on, if I’m going to get everything done I need to today.

I also forgot to tell y'all I had a tiny relapse this week and bought 3 pairs of shoes. The store I love put their Skechers on sale for 50% off. One pair was Easy Spirit but they are really comfortable too and of course, on sale.

They have a section of junk stuff that is "As seen on TV". Well the other night at Terry's sister's she was showing me the plastic thing that she made boiled eggs in and really used it a lot. I was going to look them up on Amazon. As I was standing in line, a man walks by carrying the exact thing she was showing me. It was called the Egg Pod. I got up to the counter to pay and I asked the little guy if he could charge me for one of those egg pod things and then let me go get it because I did not want to stand in the long line again. He was so nice. He asked a co-worker to go get me one. I gave the little guy a wintergreen Lifesaver while we were waiting and he said he loved those and had not had one in a long time so I gave him a handful of them when I was leaving. I love doing little nice things for people that are nice to me.

I will have to let you know if it works good. I already had 10 boiled eggs in the fridge and I need to read the instructions too.

Good morning Rat2 and Sara

I admit I d know if you had gone on vacation yet or not Rat2 ,
    when is that?

I agree Sara, Rat2 and Terry make great stories

Accidently stayed up too late last night waiting up for DH and Bela to get home from game night at the church. Guessing that is why I’m a little later this morning.

Terry has not said the exact date. He just said after our Christmas eve at his sister's. We will definitely be there for New Year's. He invited me to a little get-together with some of his friends. I just hope it is not extremely cold. I want to go out on his boat. I'll fish but I hope I don't catch anything. He has not said anything else about the ATV to the lighthouse but I want to do that too. I am just excited to do just about anything because I have felt so caged up for so many years.

I got some hooks at the $1.25 store the other day. I have got to get that garland hung up somehow on the front door. Better late than never.

Good morning Dale  Glad you were to sleep a little longer this morning even if you did get to bed later.

Well, I managed to get the dishwasher emptied and handwashed the ones that can’t go in there.

Dh was kind enough to being me a mint iced cappuccino. Waiting for the caffeine to “kick in”

Lake effect snow today, 3-6 inches supposedly.

I hope one day to have at least one grandkid. Despite the way of the world today. :( Hopefully things turn around.

We did our gingerbread house and the meatloaf is in the oven. Just turned the mashed tates on. Mmm smells so good.

The weatherman was wrong. So far about an inch, which I’m totally ok with lol.

Oh my goodness, Dale. I’m glad you didn’t have to work also. I love burgers, so your dinner sounds amazing.

Last of the cutouts in the oven. I definitely need to plan better. It’s starting to feel like a chore vs a fun activity. I’m not sure if kiddo feels the same way, but he’s a teen so I imagine he does.

Hope you have a good night. I’m about to head up and hopefully sleep good. ;) Sweet dreams

Maybe you need to cut back to a couple of favorites and let the others go or alternate what you make each year. Baking cookies can be time consuming not to mention the clean up.

Good night Sara  I’m hoping for a better night myself.

    Good morning Dale

Thank you for breakfast. The biscuits with sausage gravy look really good. Also great reminders!

Yeah, we have cut back quite a bit with the baking. We are going to save the pb blossoms for after Christmas.

I used to put candy and or small toys in the Advent calendar but decided to do fun activities instead as kiddo got older. Driving to look at the lights, making hot cocoa from scratch, cutting out paper snowflakes etc. The ones like cutouts or gingerbread house are always on the weekends. Every year I say to myself we WILL do the activity for the day, on THAT day. But we still end up playing catch up which kinda stinks.

    Have a great day all!!

‘Wow! You must have baked a lot then! I pretty much stopped when the kids got grown.

That’s really neat that you do all those activities as a family :)

I usually only bake at Christmas time. Maybe if I did it year round, it wouldn’t be so time consuming

It’s fun, family togetherness and less plastic junk for kiddo to save. While I’ve gotten better recently at purging “stuff” he is just like I was, everything meant something and had to be saved.

It takes some of us longer than others to learn to let stuff go but the older I get the less I need or want.
