Awesome quote, Dale  thank you for breakfast ;)

Just got home from Grandpa’s. He will be 89 this coming week. One of my aunts made him a lemon cake. I’m not a huge fan of cake but omgosh this was so good.

Hope everyone had a great day!
    Good evening Sara
‘I love lemon baked goods! Happy early birthday to your grandpa :)

Had a piece of chicken for supper, pickings were slim ;)

What a great afternoon! I hope everyone enjoyed their day as much as I did.
Took the Geo-Dog out for a Cache run, we hit one of the rails-to-trails paths, and logged about 8 miles out and back. Straight as an arrow, gentle grade and bright sunlight, tolerable temps. At the turn, I realized it was now uphill, and into the wind, but still it was pleasant. It probably would have been more fun on a bicycle, but that brings a whole other dimension of dog-wrangling
We found seven geocaches, and reported another couple as probably missing. There's more on this trail to the North, and loads to be found in the State Park to the West, so it's a fair bet to think that I'll make the half-hour drive back there again before the year is out.
We did a pretty good job of staying clean, apart from muddy boots and paws until we hunted for the last Cache of the day, whereupon we harvested about a million burrs from the undergrowth. It took two of us a full 40 minutes to clear that long-haired dog of most of them!

Now to engage in that ritual so beloved of all working folk: get prepped for the week.
I'll be absent til next weekend, probably, so here's wishing you all a wonderful week. If conditions allow, get outside!

He loved every minute of it. That mutt is a long-haired, double coated attention-seeking brush fiend. It was like getting a massage, manicure, pedicure and haircut... but with four hands, instead of two. We should be so lucky ;)

Glad everyone seemed to have a nice weekend. They are all pretty nice I suppose. There was not much happening with me this weekend. I did lots of walking and got my sheets changed.

Terry's sister got in touch with me through FB today and said she sure did miss me. It was so good to hear from her. She said I was welcome at her house any time. I have missed them too. She asked me to meet her and her husband for dinner tomorrow night so I am so excited about that. I was worried that they may not want to see me since Terry and I are not "dating" anymore but evidently, she does not feel that way and I am relieved. So I have something to look forward to tomorrow.
    Let's Eat.gif

My cousin called this afternoon and wanted me to go to the Outback with her and her mom. I ate supper with her 3 times this week so I said I was just going to stay at home and get some stuff done. The real reason is that I cannot maintain my weight when I go out to eat. I eat much healthier at home. I've gained 3 lbs this week and I am going to fix that this week by staying home and eating right. Of course, Monday's regular start to eat right has been postponed until Tuesday since I have dinner plans tomorrow night.

Even though the gym was closed, I still managed to get my 10,000 steps in. It was 44 degrees and a tad chilly but I walked for a couple of hours anyway reading my book and eating an apple. And people don't think I can multitask.

Hope everyone has a wonderful start to a great week.

I know you love spending time with her :)
I really do. They are such good people. She plays the banjo and asked me if I would bring my ukulele down there sometime and show her a few chords. It is hard to believe I have had my uke for 5 years. My guitar and uke are right beside my chair. I am not very good with either of them but I enjoy what I can do. I have added the little harmonica that I bought. I used to play them at home all the time. It is a shame that my ex could not find my 3 harmonicas. (yeah, right)

Well, I am off to the gym on this beautiful day. My knee is requesting a short walk on the treadmill so we will just have to see who wins.

    Hugs to all.

Good morning Joey and Rat2

I asked for a treadmill for Christmas but didn’t get it. I’m not one to go to the gym and our weather is either too cold or too hot outdoors, not much in the middle. This week we’re going to jump from a high of 55 to 77 .

Well. I thought I was going to work today. The body said "nope". Between all that pavement pounding and the frigid day preceding that (also about 6 miles). I think maybe I overdid it a little. Sheesh.

No biggie. I pottered around the house doing the stuff i should have been doing over the weekend. Picking up, taking out the trash, dishwashering etc.
Then, OH JOY! an email notification of a brand-spankin' new cache that had just been published. Check the email time... 45 minutes ago. How far away? 9 miles.... to the Horses.... I bounced out of the house so fast, drove like the wind, arrived at the general location, fired up the gps and went right to it, scrambling over loose rocks on a river bank and under the bridge. Perched precariously, about to slide down into the chilly river, I opened the container ...was I the First to Find? (it's kinda a big deal lol) Gah! pipped to the post by a mere 15 minutes.
No matter, it was a beautiful afternoon to be out of doors, even if only for an hour, and I got the thrill of the race too!

Spent a frustrating hour trying to set up my email to notify me of these "New Cache" emails (and only them) .. I might have done it, but I'll not know until the next one pops up.

Trying to get dinner sorted now, and to bed earlier, so that I can be well rested for the work day tomorrow.

    Have a good night, Lurkers!

Good evening Dale and lurkers

I know it’s probably not in the budget right now Dale but I ordered the GoPlus 2 in 1 treadmill off of Amazon. It was $300+tax. It folds to fit under the couch/bed. It was easy to set up and it’s decent for just getting some steps in. Doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles and I’m ok with that. Sometimes my hips bother me when I’m walking the figure 8 around the house.

Rat2, hope your knee survived the gym ;) I didn’t have the motivation today, looking to get to bed early and feel less like a lump tomorrow.

Kelt, sorry you weren’t feeling good today. Sounds like it turned out decent though!

We cleaned out the fridge of leftovers because….that pesky motivation

    Sweet dreams lurkers
