Yum and little to no dishes

We used a new recipe for sauce and it turned out really good. Best part, we left the skins on!

I’m going to attempt to get up and get my lazy bones on the treadmill tomorrow. which means, I should get myself to bed early.

    Sweet dreams
I’ve been leaving the skin on my potatoes for years, that’s where all the good stuff is;)

Ugh before you go to work?!

Sweet dreams when you go, good night

Hey there. Still no a/c but doing okay. I sat out on the front porch until it started raining and thundering. It was 81 out there and 85 inside the house. I did text the man who installed the unit. I did not want to bother him on the weekend but I wanted to get my name on the list. He called me last night to say he would be here Monday and he called today to make sure I was still doing okay. He is a really nice man.

I have asked Ken if he would drive my car to TN because it needs to get on the highway and run some. I think it will be more comfy too. I took it on the highway today because I decided since it was hot in here, I'd visit Sharon and her hubby Kenny (Terry's sister that I think so much of).

I had a wonderful day with them they wanted me to stay and go to supper so of course, I did. Had popcorn shrimp and deviled crab. So good. She has had to go on oxygen 24/7 now. She has needed it for a pretty good while but she was trying to hold off as long as she could. I don't blame her but it sure does help her.

Have not seen Ken since Friday but he has called a couple of times each day. He doesn't talk for very long but it is nice to hear from him. I probably will not see him this week until we leave Friday. He is supposed to work 4 12 hr days this week and I am sure he is going to be tired. Oh well, I have a long weekend to look forward to and plenty of together time. I sure hope my poison oak goes away by then. It has gotten worse. Grrrr It is so aggravating.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I Hope Monday gets out of the way quickly Sara.

Good morning! Not a good sleep for me. Not sure if it was the heat in the house or if I was just too tired. My itching might have had something to do with it too. Heck, I could just be excited about my upcoming adventure. Who knows. Might just have to grab a nap today.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day. I know I will regardless.

Good morning Rat2 and lurkers

Ugh, sorry about the poison oak. :( Glad to hear the a/c guy is coming today for you.

Haha, Dale, I had the best intentions of doing it but guess what? I’m a lazy lazer who lazes.:lol::lol: Hey now, that’s better than a lying liar who lies

Guess I better go make myself a cup of joe! Have a great day everyone!

Erm…I dunno if my doc would agree.

Did I tell you what he said to me at my last physical? He wanted to put me on one of those meds that diabetics takes. I don’t have diabetes. Apparently people have successfully lost weight on it. I said no. He asked why? I said, will it slap me on the wrist when I come home tired, don’t feel like cooking and decide to order a pizza or chinese?? Will it force me to walk or strength train? He laughed. I told him I KNOW what I need to do to get these covid pounds off and taking medicine my body doesn’t need isn’t the answer. So far this year I’ve lost half of what I gained and I’m very happy about that. Slow and steady win the race :)

We were supposed to have roasted veggies over pasta but the power apparently has been going on and off all day. I don’t trust the oven, so looks like sandwiches for dinner.

Hope everyone had a great day!

I think you’ve done a great job and your doctor shouldn’t be prescribing those kind of medications for weight loss.

That’s wonderful, Dale. I hope it stays that way for a few days. Give you guys a break.
It would be nice but I’m not counting on it.

That is the truth and very smart of you. Congrats on your weight loss. I lost it very slowly. It is hard to lose weight when you have thyroid issues. I really think walking is what did it for me. Losing weight was just a perk because the reason I walked was to preserve my sanity. It was the only time I felt free so I walked a lot.

I am also sure that walking is what helped me get off blood pressure medication. I was on two different ones for years. When I moved in with my dad they took me off of one of them. After I started walking, I started having low blood pressure and take none now. My doctor also agrees about walking and BP. Mine was 106/58 when I had my physical the other day.

    Continued success to you.

It is nice to have ac again and I was lucky he came today. It was the motor. I am so thankful that it is still under warranty because the motor would have been $800. I still had to pay labor which was $330. The two parts he ordered in May have still not come in and I am not sure what is up with that. I m quite a patient person but it is starting to get a little ridiculous.

I think the itching will be better now. I have used almost a whole tube of cortisone cream. It is getting better though so I am sure I will be fine. It is just aggravating.

I fixed a loaded baked potato and a small salad for supper and it was good. Ken called at lunch and asked me if I wanted to go to supper but I told him to just eat and relax a little before he had to go to bed. So he called me when he got in bed and said he missed me which made me feel good. It sure isn't because I don't want to see him but I know how hard it is to work 12 hours a day. Damn me for being such a considerate woman.

    GOOD MORNING!

What is up with my sleeping? Maybe I am just too excited about my trip. I betcha I get a nap today. heehee Oh well, the coffee tastes pretty darn good this morning.

I think the AC has helped the poison oak. Or it is just getting better. I don't seem to be itching quite as bad. I hate that I get it now. I never got it when I was younger.

I cannot believe it is only Tuesday. Any other week goes from Monday to Friday in a blink of an eye.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

    Good morning Rat2

Great news about the ac and the poison oak :) I’m not surprised about the parts though. I know fitbits aren’t super accurate but my heart rate goes down when I walk consistently. So I agree that it makes your bp drop.

I’m with you, Dale. I was shocked when he offered it. What’s next….gastric bypass  They seem to push that around here, big time and not just for people that are morbidly obese. Ridiculous.

Hope everyone has a great day!!

I just know it did for me. Last year at my physical the PA gave me an ekg and she had a funny look on her face. She said she would be right back and the doctor came in and looked at it. She asked me if I exercised a lot. When I told her how much I walked she said everything was fine. My resting heart rate was like 47. I think she told me it was normally over 60 for most people. I was feeling pretty relaxed that day because I got out of the house all by myself to go to the doctor.

Oh well, I'm gonna keep walking no matter what.

Hope you have a great day.

Well, I went shopping today to try to find something to wear on my trip to TN. I just love the thrift store I go to. I also went to Gabe's because I had a $5 off $25. I can't let that go to waste.

I probably should not have ventured over to the shoe section.

Yes, I came home with a pair of shoes and boots. But I had to because they were "pink".

The best part was my checkout. I was talking about my $5 coupon and she said if I was 55 she could give me another 10%. She did not wear glasses or anything so I don't know why she thought I was not a senior citizen. Of course, I got my additional savings. It sort of made me feel good.
