maybe you are not getting good wicking into the coils.
mine didnt wick good at all so i removed the silicone plug alltogether. in order for it to wick, i have to tilt it upside down quickly and then im good again for few drags. these did not work out of the box for me, they didnt wick even after lifting the silicone plug, i had to remove it completely...now i cant lay it flat without gurgling and leaking into the battery post.

You can try taking the cup seal out, and pushing down on the coil, making sure the wicks entering the cup are all the way at the bottom of the notches in the cup. While you have the cup seal out, trim off the inner ring that sits inside the cup. You can do this with a hobby knife, nail clippers, cuticle scissors, etc.

Yes but in my experience can deep six your wicking real bad.

I agree, with the older ones. But it seems like with the new cup seals, and no space between the cup seal and the underside of the drip tip, the coils are coming in contact with the rim on the inside of the cup seal. JMO. I've also noticed that the shank on the drip tip that comes with the new Fluxos is just a little shorter than the shank on my other tips. When I put one of my Ming tips in, I don't push it in all the way. I'm leaving maybe 1/32 of an inch up, so that it just barely touches the cup seal on the inside.

I believe you're right. I was just asking because I usually push the coils down, but pull/fluff the wicks up. You can do both at once.

As far as dodging the nipple seal you all have my empathy. I modded two to avoid the singing coil/pinching wicks syndrome, but as Rule62 said, you can still push it too far in with the wrong tip, and since I use carto mouthpieces, they are all the wrong tip for me :). I'm sure its easily fixed by snipping the nipple a bit.

I'm thankful I have plenty of flat fluxo deluxe plugs laying around, love these things.

I'm sorry to hear everyone seems to be having so much trouble with the new fluxo. Mine are working just as well as the old ones if not better. I take out the new seal completely and use the doughnut mod from the old fluxo's, that middle seal, and it works beautifully.

I've never had an older version, dose that o ring fit around the cup or rest on top of it?

Before you fill pull the tube off take that silicone piece flip it upside down you see a round PC in the center take a pair of finger nail clippers and trim that out then open up the wick holes just a little put that silicone PC back on top of the cup and push it in the tube till its back together you won't get that burnt taste and you can still set it on its side with no leaks only bad thing is these are not easy fill you still need a syringe to fill juice won't go down those small flats on the sides

I'm very pleased with them. I have been using the previous version with the conversion cup seals that were available a while back. These new ones work equally well, if not better.

I am having issues, dang it lol. I have used my old black inner ring in these and they vape great except I get to much extra juice in the top. I'm not having much luck with the new seal as I cut the nipple off and use the old end caps I have because I don't like drip tips at all. I'm getting that dry hit flavor when I use the new seal and the bad part is I only have like 2 of the little black middle o rings left. So I'm trying to figure out a way to cut the new seals down to fix this problem or fix the old seals I have.
