Strange.

Does the carto work on another mod ? Just wondering if it just blew.

Great to see some more owners join up. Really interesting to see the the modifications. Must confess when I got the VMod it was not long after a couple of leak disasters so I was and am still tickled that it is leak free.

Atty update.

The Aero has woken up a fair bit. It took 36 odd hours of vaping but it is now producing more vapour than the 306. Flavour is about the same. Spitting has gone away and the draw has smoothed out.

Getting better and liking it more.

My 2 weeks today Aero is getting a vodka bath right now; I don't really want to put any other atty on it.
Just ordered another from Avid.
I have a few hybrid attys and a couple silo's unused... i think they are coming with LR's now, whereas the first XL i got they came with 2.2 Ohms; that's good because this XL is a straight up 3.7 mod, and does best with LR's.
The Aero is 1.5 and like the HH357 is not too hot like most 1.5's; it's just right imo.
I looked at the coil setup with a good flashlight (bad eyes) and it looks like it's merely Cisco's version of the HH357. That's interesting; it doesn't have the level of taste (flavor) that the 357's do, but hey, it's probably a good thing, and possibly why they cost $12.
I'll pay it; imo it gives the best combination of flavor and vapor for an atty in that price range, on the XL. Next would be the i06 (1.8), which imo is almost indestructible. Funny (not ha ha) how the 357 has changed my perspective on value per dollar.. unfortunate!

I know this thread is for the Vmod XL folks but I hope you don't mind a question on the Vmod 2.0.

I just received my Vmod 2.0 in the mail yesterday and so far it's working well. I am using a Hybrid BF 2.0 ohm atty that came with it and it is a little cool and airy for my tastes but I am trying to get used to it and break in the atty.

I am using Trustfire 3.7 protected batteries. The instructions did not say but I know that usually on most mods the battery goes in with negative at the spring end, but I have seen where a few people said flip it over and put the positive end down at the spring. Which is correct or does it matter?

Thanks,

If it is firing battery position will make no change to the voltage it dispenses.

There is a 1.5 ohm Hybrid from Vapage. I do have one and it is my atty rotation.

I started with 5 of them and they all blew or were DOA within 6 days of me getting the mod. Now Brian at Vapage was kind enough to contact me and send me another 2 to try as I was a little unhappy with the longevity. He explained that the manufacturing process has changed and that we should no longer see that level of failure rate.

Alas the first of died in 3 days however the 2nd one was on day 6 when the draw tightened up a lot so it has been cleaned and will appear again sometime in the next week or 2.

So there is yet another plus point of Vapage. They do listen to you and they do respond with logical explanations and try and help. I am certain that Brian is waiting in excited anticipation to my next long winded boring email when the 2nd one dies. Thank you for your patience lol

Wanna talk about customer service??? My friend ordered 2 V Mod XLs the other day with a blue shell for one of them. She received a 2.0 sized shell by accident. She was already fed up to the hill after having just received another more expensive bottom feeder mod the week before in a very ugly color (due to that being all that was available) that the door kept sliding off of. By the time Brian called her she was probably about in tears because she was so excited for it to be blue. He told her that if she would just send him a pic of her self throwing the other mod with the door problem in the trash he would let her keep the 2.0 shell and send her a free 2.0 to put in said shell AS WELL AS a blue shell for her XL. She had come to my house about to cry earlier in the day when she received the XLs with the wrong shell and I told her he would take care of her but that was above and beyond. Then she called me in happy hysterics after talking to Brian later that night. He made a life long V Mod user in 10 seconds flat. Actually 2 because I know I will be as well. It was so good to see my friend so happy after such a bad week trying to just get set up with a mod that she could stand to look at as well as use. ROCK ON VAPAGE!

Most 510 atomizers have the same diameter... the only 510 that i know of that might be a problem would be the very expensive AVA LR 510 which has a lip at the top, so yes, you can shop for virtually any LR 510 for use on the XL; that's one of the drawing points to the XL... using atomizer of your choice.
Can anyone tell me if they are using 510 LR atties with standard drip tips on the Vmod. Will the standard drip tips fit through the top cone?

Thanks,

Standard drip tips fit through the cone, no problem.

It's only the fancier ones --big belly, pawn, ming and similar that don't, where parts of the tip are wider than the atty. They are fun, too -- you just have to remove the tip when it's time to refill the juice bottle.

510 attys work great on the Vmod. I've used 510's on feeders for a long time---I just prefer a little higher ohms. 2.0 and 2.2 are more my go-to ohms---except for those darn resurrector carto's at 1.7.

Thanking you.

Was looking at a video of the AVA earlier and wondering just that question.

don't forget to say that once you try a 357, and get the hang of it, you may very well be HOOKED ... they are just that good.
I hope you are better at keeping them alive than I am brian,
I use the 1.5's mostly and try to keep them wet, and at no more voltage than necessary, but i can not get them to last more than 2 weeks after going through 4 in the last 6 weeks... that's with 2 going at a time on 2 different mods.
I do chain vape....
Guys do your self a favor buy 2 hh 357s instead of the ava you will be much happier

see?, i hate that! hahhah.... jk, but dang.... i have a bud who finally popped one at 5months too, and lots of peeps say they last forever; yet I'm my experience, and that of a few i also know, the opposite... i don't think it's luck of the draw because this one guy has had a LOT of them and can't get more than 2 weeks either.
It must be the way you vape, and if not, oh well... good on you.

I only use them at 3.7 volts in a ufs or bottom feeder maybe that has some thing to do with them lasting

congrads tronny! I just got mine last Friday. I got a nic buzz within 20 min of opening it because it gave so much more vapor than my pen style LOL How do you like the silo carto that came with it?
I gotta say intitially i was really surprised at how much vapour i got from it, then i oversquonked and flooded it a bit haha but it seems to be back to its former glory now and after about a week ive more or less got my squonk technique down. i would like to try a slightly lower res version of the silo, at 2.2ohms its pretty hot but i like to stay around 1.8-2. if i were using the silo on a 510 or something like that, i think the size would concern me but obviously with the Xl its a non issue :p. the hybrid atty is pretty nice as well although i did over feed it a bit as well initially. So far ive had the most fun with my Kanger cartos on it though, but the uni makes me curious to try more attys, i want to get a couple cisco 306s and low res 510 atties to experiment, at 3.7 volts its putting out way more vapor then i expected with all the atty/ cartos ive tried on it so i think i might even hold off from getting a kick for it, which was my inital plan.
How are you liking the battery life? i'm using 2000 mah aw imr 18650s and i find after about 18-24 hours the performance starts to drop off slightly, but it still vapes well at that point just not as well as with a fresh charge so that's usually around the time i put them on the charger. its certainly enough for me i just expected a little more since i could get like 12-16 hours out of a 900 mah ego, but i guess since the xl is mechanical, there's no power saving or voltage regulating circuits to spin out the battery life. That being said, im still loving the xl, by far the best vape ive had personally, kinda want to get a 2.0 just so my XL can have a little homey to chill with :D or maybe just another XL, i mean ive got black..it only makes sense to get a silver one as well :D :D.
