So far I am just LOVING my new Vapage XL and thought I would share a little of my style Vapage-Bling with you :)
Going to an atty, which I have always wanted to try, vs carto definitely presented a learning curve for me and a bit of a break in but I believe I am getting the hang of it.

Dumb question, I know, but are there NON rechargeables I can put in these mods?

I'm going to visit somebody, it's just as easy to buy toss-aways since I"ll be travelling lite on my way home.......I'd just as soon not have to charge stuff at their house, since it's elderly people in small apartment, and I really don't want to be setting up chargers and stuff at their home.

This is the only e-cig available that uses throw-away batteries. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/battery-mods/105465-now-puck-cheap-parts-easy.html

However, it isn't for sale anywhere. They are super easy to build though.

The Best for the Vmod is the new vapage ShiFu (slant coil) atty. :)

It's new and everyone hasn't tried it yet.

I've been happily vaping mine for over 30 mils so far without a hitch nor any impulse to clean.

If you click the link, you'll see a couple of comparisons with the HH357 there with people just trying the ShiFu. Both are loved.

Quick update: I'm partway through my 4th bottle of Casablanca, with no cleaning or maintenance on the Shi-Fu (I'm doing a longevity trial on my first one), and flavor is just seeming to drop off now. It's slight enough that I'm not sure if it's dropping off, or I need to vape a carto or 2 of Vaperite's Natural Key Lime to cleanse my palate. Seriously a REALLY good atomizer.

Love your bling!

First page answers the question clearly. And, the writer is "top man" at ECF. Sorry, I don't remember is job title. :) Battery genius's get together to write this stuff.

IMO, all apv users should read this thread and review it once and awhile. This battery safety stuff IS a big deal. :thumb:

Quoted for emphasis. We don't have 100% of the facts, but it's been reported that one of the guys who's PV blew up on him stopped and picked up non re-chargables on a trip.

I'm also enjoying my Shi-Fu, but I'm puzzled by the "not meant to be cleaned" instructions. It seems to me that any atomizer would do better with an occasional alcohol rinse? I intend to rinse mine.

I'm using my VMod XL almost exclusively. Waiting for more great coupon deals. I'm also guessing revisions are coming soon with the recent 50% discount.

I'm not sure about the not meant to be cleaned quote either. Has anyone cleaned theirs, and did it adversely affect it?

I usually put a few drops of VapeTheRockies' Purge atty cleaner through my atties before I go to bed, then put them through an alcohol rinse in an ultrasonic cleaner once the Purge isn't doing the job. I haven't done any of that on a Shi-Fu yet.

Question on the ShiFu atomizer- does it spit juice in your mouth? I started using the carto that came with the Vmod, and I like it alot, aside from the fact that almost every pull, I get a drop of juice in my mouth. Not very nice. I am thinking of pulling the trigger on the shifu, as long as they aren't too spitty.
Thanks.

I haven't had a spitting problem.

sounds like too much juice.. .that's the reason for juice in mouth;
- on the Shifu, aside from the first set up (it will pop, if it's dry,) no spitting. You just need to know pretty clearly how much juice is enough.

dumb vivi nova atty question, ah is this a rube goldberg setup when finished? I only purchased the head and it came with a long condom over a shorter "see through" silione tube with that metal ring inside. I also ordered and have recieved a 306 extended drip tip. So here is the question. WTH how are you guys putting this together? The only way I can even come close is to put the silicone sleeve (with or without the metal ring onto the atty and push this drip tip over the sleeve BUT when it comes to screwing the atty in the tip will just spin. Please tell me this isn't the way this atty is suppose to be assembled onto the XL

I take the cone and shroud off.

With the 306 drip tip nearly forced over the top condom with a metal ring in I then screw the atty into place. Drip some juice to ensure the coil is wet and test fire. You should get some vapor if so all good if not see if you can tighten it some.

If it still doesn't fire put it on a Ego or a variable set at it's lowest setting or a 3.7 device and make certain it fires.

Once you have found that out screw it tighter back on the VMod, place the shroud and cone back on tilt and vape.

There's usually a *reason* things fail like this, however, if a person knows nothing about batteries or battery failure, then chances are they are putting themselves in a situation where something COULD happen.

I think that's what Tearose means when saying it's a big deal. Some people have reversed polarity with batts you can't do that with, others have had one get hot on the charger but don't know that is a warning sign, others have maybe taken that hot batt off the charger and just hooked it right up without giving it some time to rest......just stuff like that. If you don't KNOW a hot battery is a warning sign.....and then you just happen to also put a faulty atomizer (new) on it that has a short. Combinations of things can cause catastrophic failures.

The whole point is, you are now USING batteries, so they are a part of your rig that you need to learn about. :)

I just had the fire department at my house midnight on Sat....one of those CLF bulbs "blew" in a not right way, but I didn't know tht. All I know is my entire living room filled with smoke, accompanied by that horrible burning electrical smell. I live alone, was about to go to sleep and had no idea why I saw smoke in the room or smelled that smell. I called the FD. They didn't even know where it was coming from at first...they thought it was a MAJOR appliance, that's how bad the smell/smoke was.

Just sayin' catastrophic failure happens. IT happens in computer batteries, in bulbs, in heat coils in dryers, in hot water heaters, and yes, in rechargeable batteries. :)

I just blow mine out. I had some really sticky juice a while back, so I ran some hot water thru it. I think the less you do to electronic stuff, the better. :)

I think there might be new skins coming........just a guess. :)

I just soaked my first Shi-Fu in alcohol for about 30 minutes. It was starting to lack flavor. Blew it out a few times, put a little juice in to keep it wet. When I need to clean the second one, I'll use the one I just cleaned. We'll see how it goes.

One piece of junk came out of it in the alcohol. I have no idea what it might be though.

depends on how much the particular atty is holding; when you notice the vape changing, less vapor and flavor, you don't have to turn it on its head, but maybe a 45degree tilt and squeeze just a little. Otherwise you could put too much... sometimes juice will come right out of the d/t upside down. If it gurgles and you get very little vapor, it's flooded.
Gurgle and good vapor = just right. No gurgle but good vapor, good enough.
:)
how many puffs do you guys get before you squeeze your bottles? Its my second day with my Vmod XL and its great when I have enough juice on the atty, but i'm still learning. I usually just turn it upside down and squeeze after about three hits; im afraid i might be overdoing it.

OK, are their any rebuildable attys out their that the supplied tips will slide onto? Im not sure I like this jury rigged setup. The drip tip basically is ready to fall off

ahhh ic now i was thinking the gurgling was that it was flooded so i would suck it back into the bottle. Gurgle is good. Thanks ukeman! VMod is something else compared to my other PVs

Afraid that is all that is available at the moment that I know of. There is going to be a 510 rebuildable at some point in the future but don't have many details.

Have not tried the dripping attys as still enjoying the Vivi to be honest.

My 306 is quite firmly attached to the plastic condom part. Firmly enough to tighten the atty anyway
