What do you use for the wick on your rba? High % VG will affect wicking somewhat. I thought you only want to use 100% PG, which is fine, of course! I'm not into rba's yet, but if you do use high % (more than 50%) VG on a ss mesh wick, I think you need to use 350 mesh, or somewhere around that vicinity.

Finally time alone.....kids asleep(for now). Thanks for all the replies!!!! Calculator downloaded, syringes in hand.

Side question...will VG mess with wicking speed on my RBAs since its thicker?

60/40 in favor of vg, #500 mesh rolled tight. No wicking issues.

It was a problem with #400 however. Needed the genesis tilt or it'd run a bit dry during heavy vapes.

As soon as I can afford it! LOL!!! I WANT a Penelope, or a genuine Genisis! I'm starting a business and it's taking all what little money I have, Uncle Sam gets the rest. All I have left is my wit, and that is sometimes limited.

So all of a sudden I'm feeling this wicked throat hit that puts me into a coughing fit. It's been the last 2 juices. I've since re-wicked my RBA, so I'm ruling out burnt wick.

The common denominator in my last 2 juices? TFA Blueberry (extra)

Anyone else get crazy throat hit off this flavor?

I just switched to a new flavor (one without blueberry) and it seems to help (so far anyway).

Luv This (post by glassmanoak)!

I had gotten so tired of looking up different threads/posts/likes about different flavors etc. that I finally decided to create myself an excel file with all that info, I only added the flavors I currently have (which is 65 ATM)... I added this info as "notes" as it's so helpful :).

Not done yet, but I included columns for Flavors (with flavor notes), size, base (pg,pga, triacitin etc), percent recommended to use (compliments of the TFA flavor thread), Company manufacturer, purchased from, cost and quantity.

Still have to look up some FA stuff for percentages, and not all the flavors I have are not yet listed on the above mentioned thread for percentages, but I think it will help me to have a ready made list to look thru when experimenting :)

EM kinda dulls the flavor and is not super sweet. Sucralose is VERY strong, so don't overdo.
Tobacco flavors are the toughest and require the most steeping
Bakery flavors are easier and require less steeping
Coffee flavors are tough.. period
Fruits are the easiest and some don't need steeping at all. The percentages vary but start small and increase slowly. TFA Smooth mellows flavors out and makes them less harsh.Vinegar and lemon juice affect the acidity and are supposed to mellow flavors out too. I don't use either. I try to keep flavor percentages less than 20 %.
GOOD LUCK!

Blueberry Extra is one of my favorites!

What % did you mix it? I mix mine at 10%, 65/35 and 18 mg nic.

Since you just re-wicked, what did you use there?

The first mix had 5% blueberry and 5% redbull
The second mix had 4% blueberry and 6% vanilla swirl.

Re-wicked with cotton ball. Been using the cotton ball-type wicks for 10 days and no problems until now.

Still using the same 60PG/40VG that I've used for a while (used to be 70/30).

As an aside.. Throat irritation seems to be decreasing. I'm not coughing like I was just a few minutes ago.

Well, the wick shouldn't be the problem. Good the irritation is going away! Hmmmm...I haven't tried vanilla yet. I think I'll get some next order. Who has the best vanilla?

Yeah, I didn't think it was the wick. I'm going to be upset if the blueberry continues to bother me! I have some good mixes steeping that are relying on that flavor! I'll leave the blueberry alone for a couple days and try again.

I haven't tried many vanillas unfortunately. I'm going to order more variety very soon!

When I first got my RBA I was getting crazy throat hit and it made my chest raw. My money is on the wick...

It's a possibility. But in 10 days I haven't had this issue.. with the same wick material.

Are you sure you didn't singe the cotton? that'd do it..

That's why I re-wicked. And I let it soak for a good long time.. In the 2nd blueberry mixture. hah. Doesn't look singed.. I suppose it's possible though.

So far, still no coughing with a non-blueberry mixture. I could even crank the voltage up a bit after switching.
