Those of you stockpiling... Are you going old school or buying the latest and greatest?

Just curious as I see lots of "stockpiling" threads but it's hard to understand what most of you are trying to accomplish long term.

Personally, I went more old school and bought things that I believe will last for years/decades. Lots of 15w Provaris and tons of mechanical mods. I have a few iSticks from when my wife and I started vaping, but haven't bought a high wattage or recent release mod since my 200w Snow Wolf last year. No Picos or RX200's for this guy.

I do have a good sized prebuilt Nautilus coil stock for Nautilus/Triton/Kabukis, but my plan is to build on the many Kayfun, Subtank Mini, Crown and RDA tanks I own.

So what about you? New shinies and lots of RTDAs, crates of prebuilt coils, old school low power mods, mechs or a mix?

I bought a few mechs. A few high wattage devices. All replaceable batteries. All rebuildable tanks and RDA's.

Stocked up on nic. i can figure out how to vape it or barter as needed for another device.

I will surely pick up 5 or 6 more high watt devices and 5 or 6 more mechs over the next 6 months. I really want one high quality mech. So far all I have are clones.

I have a bunch of reg mods that do more than I'll ever need. But maybe I'll need the features like TC later? Hard to say but didn't want to cut off any options so I'm satisfied with what I have.

My sweet spot is 10-15 watts single coil @ 1.2 ohms. Kayfun style mostly. And 20 watts in drippers like igo's and nimbus style. Seems to be all I need to stay totally happy.

I prefer regulated and the amount of sub $50 mods is crazy. I have a blend of picos, vtc minis, cloupors, and sigelei regs and a half dozen nzonic and nemesis mechs. I have some istick internal batts well over a year old that work perfectly. I think budget mods with removable 18650s may last longer than I think.

I have enough rta's and parts to open up a kiosk. No worries in that dept.

Old school. Things I know how to work and have figured out their quirks. Things that are rugged and meant to last for a long time.

I have put some away into storage and bought a few spare parts for those that are rebuildable.

But then I have always been that way with vape gear. :)

Old school definitely. A few Nemesis mechs (clones), a few Provari 2.5s, and some newer-fangled IPV D3s. To go with them, some Kayfun Lite Plus V2s and various drippers like Origen V2, Derringer, etc. (all clones). Finally tracked down some Stumpys (clones), but they were gone by the time I went to purchase them. Picked up a Reo Grand and Chalice III in the classifieds plus bought an RM2. I never tried cartomizers or carto tanks, so picked up some IBTanked carto tanks and been digging around for good prices on cartomizers (Smok 2.5ohm Single Coil XLs).

Before May 5, I couldn't have told you what a lot of this stuff was, lol. My gear was older school than all that. Been trying to track down some of my beloved Joyetech 510 atomizers (SR), but even those have been flying off the virtual shelves. It has become slim pickings. I hope we will see some restocking, but possibly not since it all may be old stock.

I wanted tried and true, built to last, as much as possible.

I have been daily using a 50W Kanger Kbox mini mod for 9 months or so. Still going strong.
Just paid a bit over $20 for it.
Have 3 more I just used for a week or so to test and put back in boxes for future.
have about another dozen regulateds, about 12 mechs and lots of STM's and parts along with a few more tank types and drippers.

As a 3 year tootle still using fixed voltage ego-type gear, I knew I was wading out of my depth looking for rebuildable RTAs and replaceable battery mods. I went with some Provari 2.5s, Aspire CF Mods, and Triton V1 tanks and kits. I'd like to pick up a few more tanks, if anyone has compatible recommendations I'd love to hear them, I'll probably want to start in the 1.6-2.2 ohm range at least to start.

I have no idea how long a mod with removeable batts can last. I have an SID from 2013 that still works and some zmaxes from 2014 that are fine. But I havent used them much the last couple years so who knows?

I "think" 2 years or more of exclusive use should be within the realm of reasonable expectations?

I don't worry much about complicated storage techniques. I have flashlights, cameras, and piles of other abused electronics that basically live forever. I don't think a mod in a box on a shelf is going to self destruct.

I forgot but i to have a house of hybrid mech, but haven't used it yet.
Have you used it yet? I bought one a few weeks ago, liked it so much that I bought two more.

I think they are great mods. A bit pricy, but are built like tanks (the threading is crazy thick) AND have a lifetime warranty.

I generally prefer mechs with locking firing rings, but I really like the Zen stuff and use mine a lot....

Old school. Mechanical bottom-fed mods. Single 18650. Smallish MTL atties, running 0.7 or so ohms, wicked with rayon. This kind of gear has worked for me for more than two years now. It's extremely reliable, and super easy to maintain. I see no reason why I would ever need or want anything else.
