My doc's all on board with it..he reads the current literature about it, and while he's aware we just don't know and are learning, it's way better than smoking. My dentist too, he gave me a resounding "good for you" when I told him, seems it's way healthier on the gums and teeth too.

print him out some info and educate him, unless he's one of those "arrogant I know it all" ones..and then I just leave those alone, my grandma always told me "never argue with a fence post baby" and she was never wrong. *lol*

So much misinformation out there! Yesterday Fox News aired a report of a 'New Study' just in ( they did not say who did the study) that reported that the vapor we are exhaling is producing formaldehyde particles that are harmful to others. They even interviewed a female doctor that supported that statement--and under the segment were the words "FDA has not issued any regulation of these products"
she even got in a couple of sentences about the 'children' being attracted and harmed by e-cigs...

and it goes on and on and on...

Which is strange, because Fox has until recently been somewhat pro-vaping... Greg Gutfield's very accurate on the idiocy of those against vaping. I guess it's true what I said before, the check must have finally cleared.

The New England Journal of Medicine just published a letter against gaping. What is scary is that the vast majority read it. If there is an article that pertains to their discipline, they know to further research it.

Some medical disciplines have their own periodicals, but the NEJM is well read.

Not a good thing...

But weren't they same guys as the ones with that stupid "research" that "showed" that those who used nicotine would also be addicted to a different and far less legal substance? What utter tripe. I think we know which side is paying them, don't we.

Sucking in battery acid from vaporizer and radiation to the brain from my cellphone is not looking good for my long term health. LOL

When I see kids on bikes and skates wearing helmets, I wonder how any of us survived to adulthood. Yet here we are, getting older and crotchety-er every day. :D

He's correct about cigalikes, the airflow is through the battery compartment

Wha????????

No.

I have a joyetech eRoll, a cigalike, and I can tell you for sure I am not vaping any kind of off gassing from the battery

You do realize that the battery in most cigalikes is sealed, right?

I prefer a little anti freeze with my ``battery acid``, seems smoother to me.

No, you're thinking about this all backwards!

A little battery acid really perks up those flavors that get muted by the anti-freeze! Crank it up to the max, and you get that extra formaldehyde kick.

I bumped into someone I work with occasionally who vapes. I asked her how it was going. She said she still vapes but has a few cigs a day.

Then she said she had asked her Doc about it. The Doc told her information is starting to come out that ecigs are more dangerous than cigarettes. Then he told her that ecig users are taking in small amounts of vaporised battery acid from the batteries. He said mark my words, in 10 years or so we are going to find out that those things are much worse than cigarettes. We will start to see large numbers of people coming down with a lot of serious diseases which we don't know about yet. New diseases that don't even exist today.

This lady thought it was probably nonsense but she wasn't sure. I told her not to worry but I don't think it helped much.

It costs $500,000 or something to educate these guys. And sometimes they end up thinking they are so much smarter than their patients that they can feed us any amount of bull and we will suck it up. My guess is he doesn't have a clue about ecigs, and he made that stuff up because he thought it would be good for her to stop vaping, and assumed she would just accept it because he said so.

To be fair most doctors aren't that dense.

Well shoot, what about my battery powered toothbrush? Am I actually brushing my teeth with battery acid that's leaching up through the housing and out through the plastic body and into my bristles?

I'm sorry but that is just horribly stupid. How would battery acid leach threw a mod, and tank, and get into the juice?

Not on an ego or above though...
Also, "Battery Acid" - a new flavor!! Gonna be a big seller!

Guy probably heard a whiff of that most recent "study" came out this week - the one where they cranked up a spinner to 5 volts and puffed out dry hit after dry hit getting some bad chemicals in the fumes. Kind of like lighting the WRONG END of a cigarette, and smoking it anyway. Kind of like charring a burger for 5 hours at 800 degrees and then publishing that "burgers don't taste good". Must be true, cuz, you know, cuz they're all sciencey.

A friend of mine decided to not start vaping (and keep smoking) because her doctor told her similar BS. I tried to reason with her. She is a medical professional and should know how to research these things herself, but whatever. She is also very stubborn and maybe not as smart as I had thought.

My own doctor, who can never be bothered to smile or react to anything, cracked a smile and a nod when I told him I quit smoking and started vaping. It is unclear if the smile was in amusement at my apparent stupidity or genuine pride and approval, but he smiled nevertheless.
