Will a 5 wrap 24awg 3mm Ti coil work better then the 26. The 5 wrap is really perfect for the STM when you are doing a spaced coil.

I usually use a 7 wrap coil (around 0.24-0.27 depending on diameter).

I use 6wraps spaced 24g Ti 2.8mm for my STminis. More surface area. You can bend little doglegs in the coil legs to align them perfectly with the post/screws.

Yep that's what I use. Just got done building one in fact. 6 wraps, 2.5mm, 24ga comes out to .183Ω.

I didn't feel like reading the whole thread, due to the sheer amount of posts...LOL Anyway, I was handed a roll of 99.99% purity Ti that was acid washed and has a matte finish. The workability of this wire is nice...not too springy or stiff, easy to wrap, holds shape well, and once mounted, the coils feel quite solid. As I do with all wire, I cleaned in PGA, boiled for a few minutes, and cleaned with PGA again. It seemed to come with a possible graphite film on it, which is a leave over from processing...you know, the normal crap.

The vape quality is good, and the flavor is what I've been looking for. When I asked where I could buy more, I was told that it's $2USD for a 10ft section from a company called Nexmetal on Ebay. Has anyone else bought this from them? Are you getting the same positive results that I am?

I gotta say...for me, this has been the best experience with a Ti wire I've had so far. I've got a dual coil, slightly spaced 6 wrap, 3mm, 0.16 ohm build on my Aromamizer, and the experience is better than any other wire I've ever tried...including SS.

I was using 26 in the STM then tried 24

Made it easier to catch under the screws

& with an increase of wattage to meet the extra wire, a bit more vapour mass

I twist two strands of Zivipf 28g Ti together, and made a 9 wrap 3mm I.D. coil, it came out at .4Ω, easy to use and produces great clouds.

No not atall, builds come in at 0.15-0.18 with 5 - 6 wraps in the stm

I would mainly use single strand 24g Ti wire. I found it easy to use and get the ohms I wanted.
Since trying the twisted 28g, I haven't gone back to the 24g.
I'll try twisting some 26g Ti, to see how easy or not it is to work with.
Titanium coils last so long it's gonna be a while before that happens.

I like 24g because the coil is sturdy and will survive for many months without the need for a recoil. I'm lazy. Well, I'm not lazy. I just don't have the time to have to recoil on a short time span. I want to recoil when I feel like not because the coil became distorted during a rewick.

What I can say is that after 5 months of 24/7 use (yep, I swear. I only have one daily rta) the resistance remained exactly the same as the day I built it. I think that pretty much puts to rest if Ti coils are loosing any material over time.

By my calculations, that coil must have gone through more than 45.000 heat/cold cycles and it retained it's original resistance in the 0, hundreds digits (0.26 Ohms).

I also do find myself liking to use 24ga Ti more often than not these days and it is easier to clean and less gunking than using twisted 28ga or 26ga. So 24ga Ti is my goto favorite but that doesn't mean that I don't like to experiment at times. I have found no need or desire to try out SS but I would like to give NiFe52 if I ever get my hands on it. I am done with Nickel.

I'm a simple man with simple tastes and simple coils. The most complicated coil I ever did was a twisted one. Worked great but too much popping.
