Noperz,,, not on the dna 200 Bandwagon (yet anyways). SXMM, XVO Stick, VS-VF, and Snow Wolf 75 mini doing fine enough for this Redneck Ti Soldier at the present...
New Job taking tons of time and attention for awhile. True, been remiss in contributions and participation here for a bit. Had to temporaily revert to being a selfish Lurker.
Hopefully back posting overly opinionated diatribes and sarcastic blather again real soon
Rock On & Vape my Brother

Those new devices from Dicodes are really challenging my "New device Abstinance" Vow tho,,,, :sneaky:

Just curious about something I have all my coils changed over to Unkamen and I have noticed that after a cleaning they work great but only for about a week or 10 days and they seem to drop off but with Crazy wire they seem to last longer after cleaning for a longer period of time. Since the 26awg Crazy wire is a little harder to trap in my STM's was thinking of trying 24awg of Crazy wire I wish they had 25awg that would probably be perfect. Thought about changing the TCR up some on the Unk after cleaning to force it into working better or I could just raise the temp. What do you guys think. I just tried it on one that I cleaned about a week ago and it seems to help to raise the temp to 450F and 20J where usually I use it with a newer coil at 425 and 16J.

Don't have those wires specifically but I seem to recall unkamen wire was acid washed (dull color) while crazy wire is shiny?

If that's correct, the explanation would be quite simple. The acid washed one has a rugged surface which probably traps carbon deposits and crude faster and easier than the polished one. That's probably why one seems to perform longer than the other.

My coil is still the same one since August, 8th and I've been noticing that maintenance intervals are getting slowly shorter as the coil surface becomes more irregular and pitted. It's like the coil starts gunking up easier.

Obviously, for me it's a non issue since I rewick twice a month anyway but a few months ago I could just rewick and now I have to clean the coil every time I rewick.

Maybe it's time to wind a new coil but it's boring. Maybe I'll do it in a couple of months [emoji14]

Yeah I'd like to find a shiny wire that is an actual 26awg the Crazy Wire is like 26.5+ which makes it harder to trap in the STM not impossible but harder and of course has a higher resistance. Unk with my 5 wrap coil comes out about .255-.26 CW is like .275-.285 which is no big deal the Unk is so much easier to trap because all you have to do is get it between the post and the screw and it traps it just tightening the screw CW on the other hand has to be wrapped around the screw and held in there while you tighten which sometime becomes a problem for me to hold the wire and the drill bit which I use for placing it not for making it and screwing the screw down. Don't seem to have enough hands.

My preferred wire has been 0.5mm (24 awg) for some time now. It is relatively easy to coil and to hold under the post screws and the connections remain solid after months of abuse (0.24 ohm, 7-8 wraps on 3mm mandrel, can't remember for sure the wraps).

I also prefer that width as the coil becomes quite sturdy and won't easily deform during wicking and the gaps between the winds remain uniform.

I adjust my temp to taste all the time and never have a preconceived number on any TC mod or atty. I might have a starting point of around 460F, but different temps for different mods, attys, ejuice, builds, etc. As the wire gets gunked up my temp goes up until it is time to clean and rewick.

Out of curiousity what do you guys run your Ti01 on with the SXM. Do you use a custom TCR or the Ti01 mode?
I like the Ti mode better for some reason. Maybe they captured the TC curve better rather than just one set point. But the TCR mode isn't bad either.

For a single wire I seem to like dual 24ga Ti coils myself but maybe around 2.7mm at 6/7 wraps.

And you are right about the rough finish on the Unk and smooth shiny on CW

I bought my 24 ga Ti wire from ebay. It is shiny and has a different finish from Unkamen's (which is acid washed). There's nothing wrong with Unkamen's wire but if you want to try a "shiny finish" you will need to go to Ebay. I looked up the seller I bought mine from, but apparently he/she is out of 24 gauge right now. Either way, you can find 24 gauge Ti on Ebay all day for $10 a spool (50 ft).

Yeah I got my shiny stuff from Vape Mesh in the UK Crazy wire. Even with the shipping it was about $10 a spool for 10m their prices are really low. I do remember the Bloke saying it was thinner then 26awg reason for the higher resistance. The Unk works really well the first time but after a cleaning it gets dirty a lot faster.

I run the SXMM Ti (UNK 26ga 6/5 wrap @ 0.23 R) at 20-22,5 J and 440-460* F on Manual 0.00380 TCR. Works for me and my Erl K's.
Up to now have only run my EKs on the SXMM.
Got another Bellus coming which I will build to same Specs (Single Coil not Dbl) and will check it out at those Settings as well as the preset Ti and see what's up with that. As Jim said above,,, prob have to tweak as diff Attys require diff Settings to "dial-in".
So far, the Bellus on the DNA40 Devices w/Ti Builds has been a Rock-Solid Performer. I give it a  Rating.

May have to order some 24ga and dabble with that and compare to the 26ga experience.
If the Ti Masters say 24 is better,,, who am I, a mere Pawn in the Game of Ti Vaping Life, to doubt or debate that? :thumb:

P.s. On my DNA40 Devices (XVO Stick, VS-VF, & SW 75m, I run same Spec Builds at about 390* F and 22W if no Ti Profile Pre-Set and 464* F on the SW 75m which has a Ti Profile built in.

Well I am trying a 6wrap 3mm 26awg Crazy Wire 33.5ohms. It was kind of a b getting it to fit in the STM but works good. One thing I've noticed about Crazy Wire is it start working better after a couple of tanks of juice through it but the 6 wrap is a kind of a bear getting to fit. I'm wondering about a 5 wrap with 24awg CW. I'm thinking you will get the wick coverage like this 6 wrap but the resistance will be considerably lower. Don't know if the CW 24 runs a little on the thin side also or not. One thing about it once it gets to working good it is really good and after a cleaning it works good for another 3 weeks. The Unk goes about 9 days for me after a cleaning.
