Druckle,
Tony said you knew a lot about Ti but you even thought of stuff (that makes sense) that I would have never even give a thought to i.e. Torch flame consuming the oxygen so not available to oxidize the Ti vs Dry burn which has all 20% Oxygen available to oxidize the metal. Gee this is "no country for old men" (I think that is the name of a movie)

LOL!
I did spend most of my working life developing titanium alloys but most of what I know from that is just background for a totally new use for titanium. I certainly never considered it could be used in a very pleasurable way for us to avoid smoking and protect our health.
I do think titanium has a lot of properties that makes it potentially a superior material for coils for vaping atomizers. I'm certainly doing a lot of experimenting with both Ni200 and C.P. Grade 1 titanium and so far Ti is winning.
One hope might be for a device like the Cldmkr Whiteout with their Arduino based electronics option which is supposed to be available in a couple of months. Cldmkr claims that this device will be completely open source and then we'll be able to program in our own temperature/resistance curves. Wouldn't that be a hoot?
