No probs @Mactavish , I think you'll like the spaced coil, maybe even more than contact coils, once you see how much longer you can run them between wick changes.

You can try running a loop to anneal the Ti but probably not on the D2. Same "no liquid" problem there. All of my Ti gets annealed three feet at a time with a torch so I can wind a dozen or so coils before having to mess with annealing again.

For 6 wraps spaced on a STmini you will have to "dogleg" the legs otherwise the spacing between the legs will be too wide for the deck posts. If you just force the legs into the posts it will wreck your coil symmetry. Doglegs shown in pic below of my typical 24g Ti, 6 wrap, 2.8 mm id, .19ohm, wrapped on a 6-32 machine screw with virtually no springback.

Man, you ride your builds hard and put them up wet. :) Makes me a bit ill to see that. Seriously gross.

I use the underwear method with my wicks. Change them daily, even if you don't think you need to. Because you do. :)

For a little extra umph put some alcohol in a little spray bottle. Remove wick, spray the coil with the alcohol let sit for about ten minutes then a soft toothbrush under some hot running water and that coil will look like new.

Major,

One addition suggestion is clean shortly after using so the crud is still wet. If you let it dry overnight it can get rock hard and about as easy to clean as a charcoal briquette.

Agreed. That's why I suggested 10 min soak time. [emoji3]

I have tried using a toothbrush and water. It does nothing. Gunk is too strong. What kind of brush are you using?
I just use a denture brush a little stiffer and I had used them within the hour. I figure if they still taste good then they are ok. I use one of those crevice type brushes for inside the coil. Everything comes right off.

I noticed that your legs are touching the first coil. Does that matter, I always make sure they aren't. Does it make any diff?
