I very much doubt it.

As long as there are Ti users like myself, this thread will live.

I see no point in vaping nickel alloys. I don't want to. In the last month's I've been vaping nothing else than the same Ti coil I made in the summer. vaping is just as simple as smoking for me now. Fill up and vape. Once a month I change wicks and that's it. No fiddling, no adjusting, no improving. Why do I need to change?

Ti rules.

I realize until real world tests are done on all these metals and juices, we just have to make our own "educated" decisions on what to inhale into our lungs. I miss true, all out kanthal style dry burning, but I can deal with lower power Ti TCR dry pulsing with the simple belief that the non alloy Titanium is a better, perhaps healthier choice. It may turn out in the end, we were all wrong, but for now we have to place our bets on something. I do respect all the experimentation and personal expense our WIRE PIONEERS are doing, and sharing!

I fear that NiFe52/48 will soon make this thread irrelevant....!
lol! A bit overexcited! I have about 6 rolls of Ti of every guage known to man so I wont be abandoning it completely any time soon. to be honest not so enamoured with most of the NiFes but the 48/52 is very good. TCR is a bit higher but so is heat capacity and resistivity is lower so thats a negative. You can, however, dry burn ust like kanthal so great for microcoils!!

edit: make that 9, just counted...

It does get a bit easier after it's been torched/annealed but it's still not as flexible as you'll wish it was. Still using the 24 ga in the STPlus with the SS304 TCR and it's been working fine. I took some 26 ga and made some vertical dual coils in the aromamizer and it's been working fine too.

Totally off topic, but awesome... ah... Avatar. :thumb: Great band, great live. Too bad every time they tour the states, they're like the first opener on a high profile bill full of buttrock bands. I can't bring myself to drop $60+ on a ticket to see a 35 min. set with the lights on and get the heck out of there before Linkin Park or whomever comes on.

Anyway... carry on about all things Ti.

Couldn't agree more. First and foremost I've heard from various users that the NiFe produces a muted taste. But even if it was on par with Ti, I feel much safer vaping on Titanium.

Got my unkamen pure ti wire, 26g. The stuff is springy. I love the dispenser. No rats nests possible. I washed it with water between my fingers. No real residue that I saw.

Wrapped a 13/12 dual, 2mmID on my Aromamizer. .2 ohms.

Billowy clouds, great great flavor. Very happy with my first Ti build. I increased to 500F and 60 Joules but didn't like it. After about a quarter tank it really is hitting it's stride. I just mounted, fiddled, wicked and saturated. Zero dry fires. Best vape I have ever got out of a tank. I can't wait to throw some in my Manta or Mephisto or Aeolus. I think I need another TC mod though[emoji41]

Yep I'm going to try the Zivipf NiFe48 just because I am curious. Have 2 10m spools on the way but it is going to have to be really good to change my mind about Ti. I am going to try my normal Kanthal build which is 8 wrap 2.5mm contact coil only diff is with the new stuff it will be 26awg Kanthal I used 28. I didn't care for Ti in a microcoil like the spaced a lot better. We shall see what we shall see. The flavor is going to have to be right on to get me away from Ti.

One thing I want to know is what is the best Ti. I know people say Ti01 is Ti01 but I also know that I like Crazy Wire better then Unkamen. To me it cleans up better and seems to last longer when you clean it. The Unk seems to lose a little bit after cleaning but that just might be my imagination but those are the only 2 I've tried. I know that Busardo is sold on Sweet Spot which from what I've heard is kind of crappy and expensive. Wish the Bloke was around, I really wonder what happened to him. I don't mind ordering wire from Europe at all but what do you guys think. I haven't tried Zivipf and being dirty with graphite doesn't bother me either. Does anyone else think that one is better then another? Who has the softest one. I am not real keen on Chinese but if it is better what the heck.

I think the Bloke bailed. From what I can gather a bunch of solid members bailed after some sort of drama with the moderators.

Who has the softest one?
Sweet Spot is definitely softer than Unkamen and much easier to work with. But that is probably due to its off gauges. I have never had a bad vape with Sweet Spot wire. But as I now have hundreds of feet of Unkamen Ti, there is no reason for me go back to paying $1-per-foot for Sweet Spot products.

I like most of Busardo's reviews, only one I know of that puts the mods on scope. But I doubt he knows very much about wire compared to many in this thread alone. And don't forget he's NOT paying for his Sweet Spot wire. I think he wanted to show an example of a company supplying the DNA200 curves for the wire they sell, and SS wire is one of the first. Personally I only buy Grade 1.

Right behind you...
@WharfRat1976, any particular reason why you're sharing post holes on that Aromamizer deck? I think you'd get better results (and have less hassles) by using the bottom holes for the wraps coming from the bottom, and the top holes for the wraps on top.

Just built it that way to keep the coils high up and the same height.

What is the advantage of having one coil high and one coil lower?

Would it be better flavor? Would it create more vapor?

Using the same post holes was a simple build. Fed them in, held them tight to the posts and torqued then tweaked and fiddled.

WharfRat,

You don't actually end up with a high and low coil. On one coil you put the leg from the bottom of the coil to the bottom hole on the left post and the leg from the high side of the coil to the top hole in the right post. then do the same thing on the other side for the second coil.

If you do it that way you end up with a single wire in each of the four holes with less chance for a bad connection.

But if your system works for you don't fix what ain't broken.

I could do that build no problem but way more of a hassle having to bend up and bend down the horizontal coil leads to hit both posts woth out distorting the coil...No? I could see it on a vertical coil build but still the same problem and if you want your coils mounted higher, the bottom post hole leads would keep the coil too low without having to have a 7mm lead...plus, the post holes are like 5mm post holes...I mean you could drive a Mac Truck through them. You could do dual Claptons through the same two post holes[emoji13]
