I'm just a mile or 2 from Steve. The tornado came dangerously close to us all, within 2 miles. Lots of damage all over Nashville and north towards us.

This is why when Steve told me he was moving here, I told him to be sure to get a house with a basement, he did. I'm sure he was in his just as I was in mine.

glad to hear ya'll are good for now! :)

Taukimada...It might pass you to the south and east....plus the rain cooled air might stabilize the atmosphere for now

Oh marvelous. Which means central Florida will get it in about a ay or two.

Hey - up by you all there is supposed to be a big front coming down Monday or Tuesday. Good luck with that. It's been so warm and humid down here. We can use it but the temp diff. is going to stir up trouble.

Springtime takes on a whole new meaning out here. I moved from Silicon Valley in CA to Austin about 4 years ago, and I am still freaked out about what happens in the springtime in the south and midwest.

Last week we had a monster hailstorm that was literally dropping baseball sized hail. Car windows smashed in all over the place. It makes me want to open a body shop.

Give me a simple little ol' earthquake anyday, but you can keep the dang tornados!

I was going to mention something about earthquakes. We had a small tumbler here a few days ago, 4.3? on the scale. All the calls on the radio stations were of people that just moved here and were absolutely freaked. I've never experienced monsoons/golfball hail, but comparing from what I've read and seen, I'll take the quakes too!

Hope everyone is safe.

I've argued with my friends in CA all the time about which is better, a tornado or an earthquake. I'll take a tornado any day! At least we know where it's headed and when it will get there. We can also escape them by going underground. (basements)

An earthquake...? No warning and no way to escape them.
Agreed. Although, on the other side of the coin, there's rarely such a thing as a "little" tornado.
