Hi all, I've had my new dna30 for around 2 weeks or so now, and noticed that there seems to be what sort of looks like an air bubble that floats around in the display area behind the glass. I say air bubble, because it rises to the top edge of the display whichever direction I turn it. I have no idea what the nature of the dna30 display is, is it some sort of liquid crystal or plasma, do you know if this is something normal to see, and not a big deal?

I emailed VS about it, and Michele asked that I send her a picture, so I sent 2 closeups. It doesn't affect performance at all, I just want to make sure that its not something that is going to present an issue when I've spent all that money on it.

Ive read hundreds if not thousands of dna posts and that is a new one, congrats lol :) That doesnt mean there are not other posts out there of course. Hopefully someone will have the answer, but if not Im curious what VS or the Evolve people will say. Keep us posted.

haha I know it, I googled for hours looking to see if anyone had come up with a similar issue, nope just me...yay me!

LED light emitting diode, no liquid
No LCD, liquid crystal display, haven't seen one used in conjunction with a DNA/Evolv mod.

makes me crazy now that I know that bubble is there, I can't stop looking at it, it's not right.

DNA displays are actually OLED, organic light-emitting diode.

A bubble is not normal. It almost sounds like liquid got in there if it's moving with rotation of the device.

Yep, something is in there for sure. Michele and I keep missing each other on the email exchanges, they are closed up for the day by the time I see her replies, due to our different time zones. She replied today that she'll be emailing a return label so we can get started on a new replacement. Not clear if that means a new replacement of the display/window or a new unit, just happy to get the issue cleared up. Glad that Jwraps is taking an excruciatingly long time to mail me the new wraps I ordered, at least the wraps won't be wasted. Thanks to all that replied!

figured when I ordered it, it was going to be a little bit before I actually got it. My order took 2 days to process before I got a shipping notification. I have been vape'n this fine little device and loving it. Other then my mechs, I have not touched anything else since. I use it a great deal. It was well worth the asking price.

For "regular" resistances, the VS is great. I use Spheroids, and the battery life is fine at 1.1-1.5 ohms. But for high-power (25 Watts in my case) running a sub ohm coil, 0.6 ohms, the battery won't last an hour. But I never intended my VS to be used with high-power sub-ohm.

For that, I am building my own dual-18650 DNA30.

Same here, didn't intend to vape sub ohms, but that's what my VS is primarily used for (.6ohms @ 22-23W) I get about an hour, but compared to when I was using a mechanical, one hour of clean vape time is way more convenient for me as opposed to swapping batteries every 20 minutes ;)

When you say a "hour" are you talking like continuous vaping for a hour or like 20 pulls in an hour. This has me kinda concerned.

I guess I'll try to measure it out to be more precise, but heavy vaping through an hour long TV show will drop the battery level anywhere around 15- 25% from a full charge. Again, for me, its night and day from when I was using a mech with a 2500 mah 18650 battery, I would go through about 3 batteries in the same time frame in order to keep the vape consistent.

I just received my Vapor Shark yesterday, and while I love it, the battery seems to take absolutely forever to charge... The first time I charged it (yesterday), it was charging all day at work (I unplugged it a few times and used it), then i got home and charged it, then charged it overnight. I have tried a USB-Wall adapter as well as plugging it into a USB port on my laptop. How long does it typically take to charge, say when drained to half capacity? Or from fully discharged? Just want to make sure mine is acting correctly.

Hmm normally mine takes 3.5 hrs from drained to fully charged. It shouldnt take a whole day to top it off. I guess the red light doesnt turn green or the indicator doesnt top off? I would call VS that's definitely an issue.

Thanks. The battery just seems to take forever to top off... it did finally fully charge overnight, the light was green this morning. Just for example, I got to work this morning and plugged the VS in after using it for about 1.5 hours (from fully charged), I'd estimate that it was at about 75% full. It has been plugged in now for about 2 hours, and it's still not fully charged.
I'll get in touch with VS support later today, thanks for confirming what I already thought. A 1200 Mah battery charging at 500 Ma shouldn't take forever to charge...
