Okay I finally got everything sorted out, the wire transfer arrived after 2 weeks. But one of the banks along the way took 10 dollars from the transfer "as a fee".. ....So Vapor Shark called me up and took the 10 dollars from my Visa over the phone. When I asked her "Well why the heck didn't we do this over the phone to begin with?" she replied "We can only charge up to 20 dollars on credit cards over the phone"... Okay ...Another US$10 for my dna.

When all is said and done. My Vapor Shark dna has cost USD$241.86 or CAD$266.58

... I should have just waited for some to come up on eBay <CENSORED> <CENSORED> <CENSDORED> ...

Sorry bro, what a crazy ordeal. Heres to hoping you really really love it and it works great for your for a long time to come. In that scenario perhaps it can still be seen as money well spent.

One of the improvements for the DNA-30 version is an "Improved Internal Support Structure". If it is using the casing from the DNA-20 version, you won't have those improvements anymore, whatever they are.

Here are photos from my VS DNA-30, a screenshot from the toddsreviews.com video, and a screenshot of the VS DNA-20 from tasteyourjuice.com. Honestly, I can't see any differences, but maybe someone else can.

Since you have the beast cracked open, is that an 18650 series battery nested in there? If so, do you see any reason why an 18650 2600mAh battery can't be put in there? Would that affect the operation other than longer battery life and charge time? Would the charge display remain accurate?

Right, the battery in a VS is a "15580". That's not a standard size, but that's how it would be expressed if it were. An 18650 is 3mm more in diameter and 7mm longer, and there's no way it will fit.

However, there are rumors that Vaporshark is working on a bigger brother to the existing device that will take "full sized" 18650.

^ I still wouldn't buy it over the current model. For me it's the ideal size for its battery capacity. Making it bigger would remove the main thing I love about it: it's so damn easy to carry (and regulated, but that's another matter).

The battery they used is widely available, and any electronics repair place will be able to solder it in for you for a minimal price.

I think just like you!
I just repaired the batty on mine all by my self.
It's easy if you know how to solder!
I use mine with a KFL+ with NANO KIT!
Its my all day vape!

I would. It only needs to grow 3mm in width and depth (which would make it the "right" size for a 22 mm atty like a Kayfun) and 7mm in height to accommodate an 18650. It would still be MUCH smaller than a full-sized Hana.

Yep, I know that battery used readily available (and cheap!), and I can solder it myself. I'd still rather have a standard form-factor battery in there than a proprietary one, not to mention the much greater capacity and improved appearance with a Kayfun (or similar) atty. Let's face it the existing Vaporshark was designed to "fit" a Pro-Tank (or other 19mm or smaller atty) not a Kayfun.

Yep, definitely planning on buying a few of those batteries so that when the time comes I can just pay someone to solder it in. Should be a fairly simple and inexpensive operation and no shipping the mod out. Also agree with the point you made about the size. All of these new super cheap 20-30w devices coming out with the SX chips which perform great, but they are all huge. Until something comes out that performs like a DNA and is smaller than the vaporshark with the same battery capacity, then I can't see myself needing any other all day mod.

Hi guys, i got a bit of an issue with mine, i left a full kayfun tank ontop of the device which i must of wicked incorrectly and it leaked all over and into the mod itself ( VS DNA20 ) im assuming it was from the air flow grub into the 510 and through. At the time i noticed it, it had been on charge for about 3 hours with it on top. I straight away unplugged it and looked to find juice leaking out of every hole the mod has, when i looked at the display screen ehhh....it was in a puddle. I did unscrew the mod and manage to soak most of it up and it DOES run perfect however i have these blobs of juice stuck in my window. Any tips on how to remove, the only things i moved whilst cleaning is the battery USB port and the DNA board slightly. Here's a snap for you :)

Thanks guysIMAG0217.jpg

I agree it would be a nice option, but the battery would likely still have to be soldered in place to achieve those dimensions. A battery sled would add a few more mm in height, minimum.

But thankfully it's not a proprietary battery. That would mean "custom for this device," like a camera battery.

I guess I'm spoiled because I use it exclusively with two things: my spheroids and my cyclone dripper. Both are small enough to not hang over the edge, and I'm happy with the battery life, so for me it's ideal at the size it is right now. People on another forum who own both the 18650 ZNA and the VS DNA were comparing battery life and getting very similar vape times from the two devices, so I'm not sure you would even see a charge-life advantage with the IMR-chemistry battery. The real advantage is probably in the 18650 being a "safer chemistry" battery than a LiPo, and I'd like to have seen some vent holes on the VS DNA, but I'm quite happy with the charge-life.
