No he's right the chip does need to breath... Either way the chip sits in a plastic sled... The only reason mine shorted was my squape puked all over a tray and my dna sat in the same tray over night leaching through the buttons... There's no way to seal the chip compartment... Don't try it...

Luckily I got a new dna 30 chip and revived it... The usb charging doesn't work anymore so I have to replace the battery or hard wire the wireless pad or rewire a new usb board... At least it's still working tho! :)

Sounds like you have some electronic ability by replacing the DNA board. Just get a new USB charging board and replace it too;) they're about 7 bucks :D

You know, I might just do that! :D

I mean after all, most of my builds are between .8 and 1.2 ohms, so it should be fine....I don't know why I said it was crappy....I guess because of the relatively low amp limit....but like you said, as long as your builds are above .8 then it shouldn't be a problem....

Probably from the outrage from everyone here that were supposed to get a VTC4. Personally, I'd rather have the longer runtime as I'm not a high wattage vaper. Panasonic makes excellent batteries.

How hard would it be to solder on the Evolv USB board? Or is it an issue with mounting it in the case?

Soldering is easy but putting the new board with the old piggyback board in the way may be difficult... That'll be tonight's project... I have a bazillion backup phone batteries that are charged with a micro usb cable... I bet I can get away with stealing the board off of one of those

I took all those things into consideration when ordering the rDNA40. The only three options I seriously considered were vaporshark, vapor flask, and hana. Vapor flask was too difficult to get ahold of, and I could see the screen being on top blinding me at night while driving. I really did want the two replaceable batteries though. Hana I only considered for a split second, their known for having pretty crappy customer service also, and after their crooked 510 issues with their dna30 kept me from choosing them. With vapor shark I have some complaints, Batterygate, no longer offering free shipping on all orders, not having the sharkskin as a drop down option for the 40 preorder, paint scratching, leaving the button exposed on the rDNA skins.

I'd still rather have all those issues than have to worry about getting a crooked non adjustable/not spring loaded 510 from hana and having to deal with their customer support.

Kind of surprised you did not look at Protovapor....I couldn't be happier with it. No complaints.

Thoughts on the Protovapor? :)

Absolutely love the XPV...adjusting temp and watts is a breeze with the wheel...just hold it in a direction and let her whirl away...instead of clickclickclickclickclick....

Extremely well built...mine is all black no clip and an aqua button...as the Kiwi says...looks like Black Ops...lol. I also like the square tube a lot better that I thought. If it falls over it does not roll!

Fire button rated for some ridiculous millions of clicks, used in space shuttles. The areas around the fire button and display have a grippy feel, easy easy to find fire button in the dark.

Made in Hawaii...support is great and shipped with a Sony VTC 5 battery.

I keep looking for a flaw...nothing about this mod bums me out.

Spring loaded pin....the 510 connection is the best I have ever seen...it is just well-engineered.

At 205.00 dollars it is a steal IMO.

OK, I just remembered the one thing that some people do not like but that I don't care about. The battery is wrapped. The intent is to charge USB and leave the battery in until it drops dead, then get another wrapped battery and plug it in. I ordered an extra wrapped battery, which is in my fridge now...waiting for the day that it may be needed.

I'd be right there but the form factor keeps me back... I can't help the feeling like I have a magic wand or something when I have those tall mods
