Question for everyone. What were you vaping prior to ViVi Nova (any version). I am curious what progression of hardware different people used.

I initially started with a PV back several years ago and was a bit disappointed with what I tried... I got a Blu kit along with 5 flavors to try out... re-ordered the menthol they had and just didn't end up being satisified with them at all. Volcano e-cigs also carried a compatible filler cart that worked so I got a batch of their menthol and it was a bit better but not by much. I tried about 10 different flavors overall and nothing suited my taste and none satisfied me in the least. I also found out quickly that I needed either a bunch of batteries or a mod with bigger batteries... I was only getting between 45 minutes to at most 1 1/2 hrs per charge and it took 3 hrs to recharge... so two batteries wasn't near enough. Since money was ( and still is ) tight, I decided to come back to e-cigs later after they advanced more.
Fast forward to February of this year... I decided to try it all out again and see if enough progress was made to finally allow me some satisfaction. I looked around to see what was being recommended... I knew I wanted a quality product that would have a good amount of battery capacity as well as something that would hold more juice than the Blu had. Everywhere seemed to suggest Joyetech eGo's ( and/or clones ) as the next step... I felt the 1000mah size would fit the bill pretty good and they had a tank system to boot. Ordered an Joyetech eGo-T and a sampler pack of 6 different menthols and a few spare tanks. This time... the e-juices flavors were satisfying my taste even if they weren't perfect and I found I could mix two of them to get almost what it was I was craving.
There were still some niggling bits that I wasn't completely happy with... but the mix of e-juice I was making worked fair and I had cut my 2+ PAD habit to less than half after just a week. The 1000mah battery would only get me at most about 6 hrs was one minor issue... another was that the vape was weak on 3.4v... and a 1+ ml tank wasn't enough for an 8+ hr day of work. I decided to try a different mod... the eGo wasn't too big but I did want more capacity so I knew I needed something that had a larger battery, so I went cheap and got a E-Power 14650. I also found an excellent e-juice vendor who used nothing but natural flavoring and suddenly my analog smoking got cut down to 1/8th of where it was to begin with.
The E-Power kit I got had two 3.5ml fiberfil cartos... filled one up and found it tasted like a sock ( at least it wasn't a dirty sock lol )... I liked the capacity but not the flavor... hearing good reports about boge's and Smoktek DTC's... I got a couple of DTC's. The carto's work... but they also clogged beyond after only a day or so which meant I lost whatever juice was in them at that time. I then picked up some of the larger Vision clearo's somewhere... and bam, the flavor just jumped out at me. The downside was that they were very prone to leak and I could be cleaning up messes at work all of the time findling with clearos, sort of defeats the purpose in many areas.
So about this time I started trying out clearo's from everywhere... I also knew I needed a good quality mod instead of the cheapy I got just to get me by. I sold my eGo to a neighbor that was interested... got a Legacy with a Kick module... and then about this same time found GotVapes ( this is back in March btw ) and saw what they were doing for the industry to help advance it. At this time I have yet to find a fiddle free clearo and was just using whatever new thing I could find... I orded the C8 Crypto from GV, it was a leaky sucker but looked great... I picked up a Stone v? from a local and liked it, but it leaked a bit and wasn't the best flavor... then GV mentioned the VN, the various Phoenix BC's etc... the Phoenix didn't work well for me and the VN v1 worked but had QC and flavor issues galore....
This now brings us to now... I got the VN v2.5 and have had great success so far. No leaks, no dry hits ( like I got with the Phoenix even on low power ) and the flavor even started off better than the Stardust's I'd picked up locally to try out.
So in just over a month from coming back to PV's... I've moved through 3 mod's to get one I really like and I can't even count the number of carto's and clearo's I've tried out... I got extremely luck on e-juice having found an awesome vender on my second try ( after a lot of research first I might add )... I am lucky that I had a ton of electrical experience which made learning about PV technology a breeze ... not that Ohm's law is tough but many do seem to be to scared to even attempt understanding the simple math it uses...
In a vaporizor ( carto, clearo or atty ) I look for a few things... It can't be fiddly and waste my time when I need to be working... in short it needs to have a good capacity so I don't need to carry supplies for all day if possible and it can't be prone to leaking... not to mention the most important part... it must have great flavor.
The PV also needs to not be fiddly and require constant recharging... so battery life needs to be 8+ hrs so I'm again not messing with it wasting precious work time. After work it doesn't matter since I can charge and change batteries whenever I wish.
I do still need to address one other minor thing... a small auto minicig that I can comfortably carry in my lips for times that I'm working on something and using a bigger mod is inconvenient. In otherwords, when I need to work with my hands. I've got a Joyetech 510 which almost fits the bill... but only if I bite on it instead of just hang it in my lips. I find that I'm not a biter... lol.
