Watch for Protégé Adapter on Too Tight

i'm a techno-newb, how exactly does the tightness of the adapter prevent the button from moving?

just so i can avoid this in the next hour or so when i start using mine.

I have the same issue with the PS passthrough adapters (I have 3 passthroughs).

I had hoped that wasn't going to be a problem with the Protégé. I still don't know if I want one or not. Waiting a while longer I guess...

It's not that big a deal really. It came screwed on a little too tight and I loosened it maybe 1/8 turn to free up the button. The adapter is still snug on the threads. Just make sure the button goes up and down freely before you put in the battery.

If the button housing protrudes slightly past the step at the base of the threads, then:
the adapter will bear against it when it is tightened down,
which would compress the button housing and could distort the hole,
which would cause the button to bind.
