Any update on when preordering will be available? It looks like the switch on the Protege is metal and metal housing, is this correct? If so, will this be available for other PureSmoker products like the PT and Prodigy? An chance of a stainless steel Prodigy? I'm a millwright and absolutely love stainless steel, even when it is a pain to drill and such.

Battery type? Anyone? Bueller?

I'm quite sure the 14500 900 mAh PROTECTED battery!!!!!!! Best of all worlds here! Great battery and battery life, and nice and slim! I'm really excited! FINALLY. I'm going to order the 510 because I have the 901 PT so now I can switch around.

Steve, I know you say I'll want the Y thing too, but I have to get the Protege also. hehehe

It was earlier in thread.:)

dammit steve, now i'm going to have to build a NEW case for THIS thing too!!

;)

but thanks for the rough dimensions, gives me a place to start! also glad to hear you like the 510 at 3.7v, that's what i was going to try. also have some 401 attys that aren't being used that may work well for this.

also curious, with the stainless steel, is it...silky and slippery? or is it fairly "grippy" surface?

Hey Flitz ... Sorry bud :) LOL

Silky or Slippery .... Hmm ... silky I would say. Nice and Soft to the touch :) Grippy ?!?!? sure ... LOL

I want one! But, can you use a cart with it? I don't "drip and drive"!

______________

Absolutely -- 3.7v's works GREAT with cartridges if that is what you so desire.

Way OT (and not that I'm hitting Refresh every few minutes at the Puresmoker site or anything!), but you guys know you still have Paypal bugs up on the homepage, left column? I would replace those with something libelous right away.

If you offer a bare bones kit without an adapter, I'll be pre-ordering one AND ordering a Prodigy next week. Seriously :hubba:

Now, what's up with your PP?

Very Cool CM ... Still thinkin about it! I likely will :)

should have also asked.... Cash which battery is the protege going to use?? Thanks

14500 3.7v 900mAh

Hey kard, as soon as our new payment gateway is set up, preordering will open. And we may end up going with Stainless Steel on the next round of Prodigy's which will likely be starting within the next couple of weeks :)

hey Casey, do you know which battery the protege will use?? Thanks

Battery type? Anyone? Bueller?

Just/Max -- Li-Ion 14500 (Same Size as AA Battery) -- 800/900mAh 3.7v

oh ... and FYI ... Been using the 510 on the Protege for the last 2 days ... I must admit ... not a bad vape by any stretch of the imagination ... never thought I would revert back to 3.7v, but its really not bad at all :)

So preorder will be available soon when would regular ordering be available?

Steve - Any chance of getting some info on the PP before pre-ordering starts for the Protege? Size, batts, adapters, time frame? A sneak peak???

I would be very interested in a smaller version for my 510 attys - even if it uses the 10440 batts - and I can't afford to get both!

Please don't make me buy one of those light saber thingys!

hey justchkn,

with adapter on, its roughly 3 3/8" long ... We are actually able to remove another 1/4 inch, so the final length should be just under 3 1/4" ...

As it stands now, it is 1/4" larger than a penstyle ... with the small revision, it should be roughly the same size as a penstyle length wise....

hope that helps :)

nice and small. are the adaptors for each model? or are they 901 adaptors w/ adaptors.

How many will be available on first ship? I would really like to get one of these.

the adapter caps are threaded specifically for the atomizer type. ex, 901 adapter cap fits 901, 510 fits the 510 adapter, etc. unscrew and put on the cap of your choice for the atomizer of your choice.

i have a 901 adapter for my Prodigy. i could take that cap off, and buy an 801 adapter cap, place that on the Prodigy, and use 801 attys with that cap.

the Protege is set to use similar adapters, BUT ARE NOT interchangeable with Prodigy adapters.

...but Protege caps/adapters are/will be interchangeable with the PT, from my understanding and what i have read.

This might sound nuts, but I'm looking forward to dialing it back a little. I've realized I'm trying to block throat hit a little with the Prodigy -- more like pulling in a mouthful of vapor and slowly regulating how I inhale it. I picked up a 501 last night, haven't touched one since the Prodigy arrived -- and remembered they totally don't suck, aside from the crappy battery life.

I see those nasty Paypal bugs are gone and there's a pretty stack of Visa/MC/Discover graphics up now. :: rubs hands in antici....PAtion ::

is this the battery the protege will take?
Protected UltraFire 14500 AA sized 3.6V Li-Ion Rechargeable Battery 900 mAh CR14500 Lithium Ion

I've heard complaints that some batteries claim 800mah when in fact they are around 500-600mah, Are these good ones?

Will the protge take any 14500 battery regardless of being protected? will it shake around in the housing if its unprotected?

How many proteges have you made? can you supply everyone that wants one?

sorry, and thanks!

That's the battery, but I just buy the blue ones from DE and they are cheaper and I have been happy with them. DealExtreme: $5.64 TrustFire Protected 3.7V 900mAh 14500 Lithium Battery (2-Pack) And why would you want an unprotected one anyhow when they come in protected? I bought those ultrafire silver ones once and they were crap. Someone told me they were the gig and one died fast and the other just sucked so I threw them both out. It was probably a fluke, but I have had no problems with the blue DE ones at all. I just got 2 more in the other day.
