big WELCOME to Voltville!!
Come on in and stay a spell! :vapor:

Dropping in to say a Big Texas "Howdy!"

Been vaping for about a month and I am enjoying it immensely.

Started off on a Volt 78auto and quickly picked up a 650 X2. I am using both depending on where I am and what I am doing. My work is usually in the public eye, so when I steal away for a few puffs I sometimes don't want it to look much different than regular smoking.

Anyhow, a big thanks to SI and imagine for having some fantastic CS.

Ciao!

Welcome Steve!!
Come on in and sit a spell! :vapor:

HI Guys,
Just joined forums yesterday. Love the site, just started on e-cigs after 26 years of PAD. Goal is to officially become a nonsmoker by end of month. After trying everything to quit many times over the years, I feel like it is really possible.

Thank you all for the welcome.
I had 1 cig today, about 16 hours ago. Vaping like a fiend and not missing it. Might push up the timeline, to reward myself. I'm stocked for at least 2 months with juices and cartos, but all the reading in the forums for SI and beginners really has me jones'ing for an x2 battery and clearos.

I bought a carton at the beginning of the month, just before my first ecig. Then I looked at that almost full carton and promised myself it would be my last expecting it to last the full month... Still have 6 unopened packs. Now if I sell them cheap, it would more than pay for an x2 + clearos. :D

You are doing an excellent job, Steve. Congrats on the switch to vaping. An X2 is an awesome thing. I have the small batts and the big batts and I love them them all.

Oh, and a big howdy.

Hehe, I got my full SI set up on May 26th a Saturday. I had 1 more stinky on the following Tuesday to compare...blech.

I still have 1/2 pack of Smoking Joes in the door of my vehicle...spent the summer there getting nice and crispy (115' heat). They are there in case I really really get the urge....should taste wonderful lol. And, I do have another pack in the freezer. Kinda makes it easier knowing if I really wanted one, I could have one. Never have though, and finding the smell of others smoking nasty.

You should get a X2 (manual!) and some clearo's. You won't be disappointed. But, please wait until after I get my order in first.......

I'd best acknowledge my newbie-ness. Received my Volts in the mail earlier this week, but just started 'em up this weekend - about 18 hours ago. Tomorrow's a work day, so it will be the first real test of how an e-cig fits into my life. So far, so good.

I've got a couple flavors of 12mg that seem just about right. I also have a 6mg and an 18mg to test out, later. I've also got both 2 78mm manuals and 2 78 mm sealed autos and... I like both.

I'll make this post serve double duty as an intro and a query. I have a couple of equipment issues. One of my manual batteries doesn't seem to charge. If I screw it onto the charger or onto a cartomizer, it lights up and flashes. If I hold the button with no carto, it lights up and, eventually, flashes. If I plug the charger in, no light, and doesn't seem to charge. If I screw on a carto and press the button, there's no light, as though the carto's resistance is too much for the limited charge to overcome. Is there anything I may be missing, or do I just need to RMA?

The other question is about the battery for the Mega Battery Charging Case (V2). Is it... padded? One side of it feels to have some sort of cushion on it, which strikes me as unusual for a battery, and makes it just a little tricky to get closed. I haven't tried charging it, yet.

I may not need the PCC, I suppose, since one battery seems to last me a whole day, but maybe it'll be nice for traveling.

Anyway, hello, Volties.

Sitting down, facing forward.
Hi, Levantes, and welcome to Voltville and the world of vaping. As the wolf might say "Interesting ears you have there in your avatar" LOL

I would suggest that you open a ticket with CS on that manual battery that isn't working properly. It sounds, to me, like there's something "critically" wrong with it and it needs a replacement. They may ask you to send it back, but maybe not. In any event, I'm sure they'll take care of it for you.

I'm not sure about your padding question on the PCC. The top, or lid side, does seem softer, at leat to me, than the bottom or battery compartment side. I routinely manage to press the charge button when I put it into the neoprene case. It should have arrived to you charged fully or almost fully so charging it may not be needed but it never hurts to plug it in and let it come up to a full charge. It is safe to charge lithium based batteries even if they don't need a charge but it isn't a good idea to leave them on the charger after they have reached a full charge, lithium batteries can be damaged by trickle or "float" charging them.

Just my opinion, worth what you're paying for it, your results and mileage may vary, no warrantee or guarantee is expressed or implied.

Thanks for the confirmation, awsum140. At least I know it's not just mine.

It's almost as though there's a folded up paper underneath the vinyl label/covering to the battery. It doesn't look as though this label is meant to be removed - it bears the warnings, specifications, part and serial numbers. I'm not sure if it's intended to be padding, or if there actually is an instruction manual folded and sealed up in there. I see no directive to remove it, anyway. I don't think I've ever seen the like in a battery. It seems uniform, as though it was intentional. Anyway, the result is the battery is just a little thicker than the battery well, and the battery cover doesn't close. I tried squeezing it shut, but if I don't break it, it looks like the cover would be warped trying to hold in the battery.

I decided to see if I could grab a digital photo. The camera battery's drained, but I noticed it's 3.7v and 720 maH. I've never paid attention to such things until I found ECF...

EDIT: A little less brute and a little more finesse and I got it inserted. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

Thanks for the warm welcome, one and all. I'll have to check in on the CHIT CHAT thread, too, but last I read it was plagued with monkeys. I'll have to track down a rolled-up newspaper before I risk it.

Levantes, you'll find a little of everything in the Chat thread. Come on and join us. Start your own topic...we are very ver-sa-tile. :D
