What is so great about a Provari?

2.5 ohm @ 5.5 watts = 3.7 volts, your assuming your ohms are rock solid..they aren't, they will fluctuate .1+-.1 therefore giving you the sweet spot sometimes on 5.5 watts. I see your point though and this is when you switch over to VV mode, personally I like VW because I get a similar vape on different toppers at different ohms without needing to break out an ohm calculator. Meaning I put a 3 ohm carto @ 8 watts and get nice vapor and flavor, throw on a ProTank with 1.8 ohm resistance @ 8 watts and I get a similar vape without frying my wick. You simply can't do this on VV, it's just less fiddling...not in anyway is VW better than VV. In fact VV is better in that you can better dial in your flavor.

The same goes for VV, the ohm load changes a bit and so does the voltage.

Since you like 8 watts, use the rule of 2 on your VV gear. Take the resistance and add 2 to get your voltage, this will keep you right at 8 watts until you get above 4.5 ohm coils.

As for me, I've played with VW, I still want to build something, not sure if I want the Nivel chip or the soon to be DNA-30, but I have skills and access to a lot of equipment most don't, and I have nothing but time! But a VW Provari, nah! Besides, what would we have to argue about if they did do that?

The ones I find particularly tiresome are those who continuously insert into their posts that they have a ProVari when it's completely irrelevant. They may be very excited and want to share their joy, but other people see it as bragging. For example, the OP may ask what vendor people think has the best raspberry flavor and our fanboi responds, "Well, on my ProVari I like to vape..."

Our Dear Praetor once created a point system. I think he also wrote what constitutes each level, but I can't find it. Perhaps we should come up with another one. Actually quoting real posts as examples might be fun (without identifying the posters of course).

well in that instance the Provari insert has some merit:
ie my kayfun performs much better on my provari then any of the ,mec.regulated VW or pulse VW ,,or VV mods for that matter

but the kayfun is hungrier for more power then other attys

I hang out in the Halo forums, since I started with the Triton - and I'm I'm fairly sure it's going to be the one that goes into my purse when I'm out and about because it's light and rather more discrete than the mini. It seemed rude to talk about my New Baby, so I just referred to a new toy (discussion of Halo juice). It's a silly thing really when you actually add up how much people spend on accessories and juice - the cost of the mod iitself is a drop in the bucket compared to what many people spend on juice alone

That's true... I launched right into DIY, but broke down and bought some juices in the Pre-Christmas sales... geez it adds up quick!
