I hope ECF doesn't look like what this thread is turning into. I feel for @Uncle Willie. We don't seem to be able to have one thread that doesn't get political or off topic.

I think/hope ECF will continue much as it has for the 11 plus years I have been here.

Yes, well .. Moderators mod when Posts are reported .. so, if anyone is offended by any Post, then, by all means, report by clicking the Report button .. as a former Mod myself, on a very large Forum, we never went looking for Threads that may have de-railed .. we waited for Members to report and then took action as need ..

The "Thread Drift" on ECF has been around as far back as I can remember .. it was so bad at one point, I retreated to my own little inner World located in the Lounge area .. and I stayed there for some time, where we pretty well self-moderated ..

One problem is, there are some people that simply have too much time on their hands and decide to use that time to foist their own Agendas ..

I asked a series of questions at the get go that had honestly run thru my mind in the last few weeks .. it was an attempt to get what other Members were thinking the Future might hold .. some stuck with that spirit, some did not .. such is Human Nature ..

As well, many / some, hit a Thread and may not even know it's intent after reading just a few replies that may be totally off topic, and, they respond accordingly ..

To reiterate ::

Will ECF become a hotbed of Member to Member transactions VIA the classified section .. ?? Will R&D on new hardware come to a near halt .. ??

Will some folks eventually just throw the Vape towel in when their supply runs out .. ?? Will new Vapers begin to slow coming into the fold .. ??

Will actual B&M Vape Shops thrive .. ??

I remember the altoid mods made with an AA battery at first. How did we survive those batteries? That was back when Etsy was loaded with vape gear. I always liked the steel canister 18350 mech mods.

I made one of those Altoids mods once. That was back in the days when Joye 510, Ego, and a few other mods ruled. Those were among the few available. I never bought a Mech until earlier this year.

As far as buying and selling goes it might have to change. Maybe people throw out a hook and then move to PM's. ECF might need to protect itself.

The regs for mailing vape gear are rather onerous, if I was going to send someone a mod I doubt I would declare it.

Maybe a trade forum. ISO/Sell and all mention of prices pm'd? I wouldn't declare it either.

With a huge archive of resources. I dearly hope it remains so. Hope there are some among us willing to support such a venture if necessary.

Vaping may not be utterly without risk, but politics is deadly. With that said, vaping thrived in an environment of community ensured of and cultivated by free speech.

Good luck all. :)

It is a remarkable world we live in.
With us, you get your thumbs up if you throw away the cigarette and start vaping instead.
We consider cigarettes, alcohol, drugs to cause more harm than vape does.

Well, now it is not the case that ECF encourages, or contributes to the purchase / sale of illegal products. The products that goes under vape equipment are actually not illegal, far as I know.

WRONG ! The Outside has been overrun by left leaning Progressives and Socialist (and even a few admitted Marxists) who insist on dominating the conversation, and belittling and humiliating anyone who refuses to march lock stepped with their Socialist Utopian daydream.
The Outside has become the most Un-Democratic forum on the ECF.

If y'all want heavy handed I'll be most happy to oblige. I have no problem whatsoever for handing out vacations for steering threads on ECF towards a political bent. There is one subforum for that. It does not belong elsewhere on ECF.

You've been here long enough to know the rules. We've never allowed political threads in the general forums. Usually we'll post a reminder to get things back on track. If you want to insist on breaking those rules, we'll enforce it with the tools we have available to us.

No one should be surprised that's it's part of the future of ECF, because it always been a part of ECF. It's what keeps the forums from breaking down into a free-for-all and keeps things civil. It's part of the rules of the culture and if you don't like them you are free not to post. Maybe it's just the "good girl" in me, but I've never had problems with the rules, the moderators, or being moderated. I dislike the uncivil decorum of the Outside, thus don't venture there, but it's there if you want to talk politics, etc. I'll stay in the civilized part of the forum.

The moderation is why I am on this forum and not other ones I explored long ago. I detest threads that derail into political infighting or pissing contests. Life is too short to put up with that garbage.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
We could start a gardening sub-forum.

I was thinking about starting a dedicated forum for that GreenThumbVapers.com

We could talk about things like how our Aegis Solos are holding up with all the dust and dirt, any hands free devices we concoct so we can vape and dig, how best to use nic base as a pesticide, etc, etc, etc.

Or you could start a social group here on ECF. Lemme know. I'll create the sub forum for you. :D

The trouble is we are talking about bans, and laws, which leads to talking about government and politics even if you don't take a particular side. The line is thin and blurry and hard not to cross. Take for instance, the future of ECF. We talk about how the bans will affect advertising. Granted, some people get carried away and cross that thin, blurry line and feelings get hurt. If we can't moderate ourselves though, the moderators will step in. We just have to try not to derail the threads too much. Enough said.

Anybody got the plans on how to make a dual 18650 mod from an Altoid tin?

On you tube and many hits on google still so you could probably find some plans.
Made a few VV dual14500 mods back in the early days still have a couple
