I was thinking back in time. I don't remember what caused the repeal of prohibition, only that prohibition was a bloody period in our history brought about by zealots of the nanny persuasion. One segment of the population ensuring that a segment they reviled was brought to heel, temporarily.

Now we have the current zealots, the alphabet soup groups, abetted by DHHS, CDC and FDA, demonizing anything that is or looks like smoking. One has to wonder if they ever studied history. Probably not, as those who do not study history are doomed to repeat it, and they are well along the road, albeit a different substance.

Those grasping controlling freaks, in concert with a bribed FDA may be able to *deem* regulations in an effort to stop people who care about their health from using safe and effective alternatives but they could also create a group of people who will greatly profit from others determined to have that alternative. That could get every bit as ugly as the period of alcohol prohibition, but from perhaps different causes. Bad materials and ingredients come to mind, not men with guns staking out gang fiefdoms.

The largest difference I can see in this *prohibition effort* is that the bribery and corruption in opposition to e cigs and other smokeless tobacco products as THR is now world wide. We are all supposed to bow down and hail pharmaceuticals as our new Caesar.

It's all going to be OK, there is a petition on the government website that is chugging along nicely with people signing. It is also now linked on multiple vendors websites so hopefully we will get the needed signatures by the deadline.

that doesnt mean they are going to not allow the FDA to regulate ecigs. it just means when you get enough people to sign the white house releases a press release saying "eff off we do what we want" getting enough signatures only gets you a response. nothing more.

I have three relatively bullet-proof mods that I'm not worried about, that take separate cylindrical batteries -- those aren't going away.

I use mainly organic flavorings, that really are primarily food-oriented, so no need/desire to hoard those.

Nic base, sure I could stock up, but I already restock every 6 months, while I still have a 3 month supply in-hand. If it hits the wall I'd order 1 liter of 100mg/ml, which for me is 4.5 yrs worth even before cutting my mg (since I was able to pretty easily cut from 24 down to 10 mg/ml, in little steps, I'm confident that I could keep stepping down if I felt like it).

Cartos or atties, sure I could scarf more up, but as previously noted there'll be enough lead time or I can do rebuildables.

and the best part is, if given enough time to grow and flourish the PV industry could be a gold mine but noone in DC has enough foresight to see that.

why do they want to take my eGo away? how about shutting down the e cig crooks at the mall charging $200 for a blu cig kit. at least the e cig industry for the most part was smart enough to call itself an alternative not a quitting aid. just imagine if they did that.

All the players are scared, having a snit fit or are mad as hell, or any combination thereof.

The FDA is scared e cigs will take over and jeopardize their money from Pharma and at the same time mad cause we beat them in court when they started grabbing e cigs at the ports.

Tobacco isn't all that scared, they have seen the writing on the wall and are moving into e cigs and other smokeless products, but they would love the FDA to give them the smokeless and e cig business by regulating all the vendors to the point where they cannot afford the fees and costs to comply with stern regulations.

Pharma is both scared e cigs will make their precious, ineffective and horribly expensive NRT's die on the vine, mad because we keep telling everyone just how ineffective they are, and scared again to lose all the money from smokers diseases medicines down the road. Smokers who quit smoking and take up the e cig cost them on both ends of the equation, and have the gall to tell the world NRT's suck.

Government is scared, both Fed and State, of losing the taxes and the payouts from the Tobacco Master Settlement. People who can quit cost them big bucks, and with e cigs the smoke, NRT, relapse, resume smoking cycle is broken. We like our e cigs and they satisfy us.

The alphabet soup agencies are scared they are going to all get laid off if we win, because pharma won't need them as front men any longer and quit funding them, and mad because we won't fold our hands and OBEY their pronouncements which are both bogus and shameful. Those people lie like rugs and look you straight in the face while doing it.

Vapers are mad as hell at what is going on and has gone on with all of the above, and scared that we might be deprived of our lifesaving smokeless products.

There is one thing that I Haven't heard much, if any, Mention of. An Iron Clad way to protect One's Self from the coming Regulations.

And that is to do the Ramp Down to 0mg.

I see the world as a Glass Half Empty when it comes to Government. And have Little or No Faith in our Elected Officials doing "What is Right".

But I see No Way for the Government to stop a Person from vaping DIY 0mg. Because PG, VG and Food Flavorings aren't going anywhere.

I think most vapers think they can't go down to zero without going back to smoking.
And I think many of them may well be wrong, and would be very surprised if they were to just try it.

On the other hand, I think there are many vapers that might have a real need for nicotine...
Be that due to a REAL addiction, or due to other factors.

As for me, I CHOOSE to continue to vape nicotine.
And I have no desire to reduce any further than the 12mg I have been using for nearly four years now.

I suppose if they take my nicotine away, I may just have to switch to coffee.

Hopefully the health benefits of caffeine will be pretty much the same as the known benefits of nicotine.
But I have yet to see any research on caffeine being used to potentially ward off Parkinson's or Alzheimer's disease.

I can do that, but then I have trouble thinking cogently and focusing my attenton on 0 nic. I vape 4mg. Such a small step and such a big difference. Tried it some time back when I was vaping 6 mg.

People who have been vaping awhile could ramp down if they were relatively low already, in the couple of months before they propose the deeming regs (if they do them this time when they said they were). I think the new vapers might have a problem going down too far too fast. They might bounce, and that would do them no good.

I remember seeing a couple of comments from people who were planning to wean down, but now I don't remember where. I've slept since then :D

...

I can't speak for Anyone but Myself. But I know this...

I never thought I could Stop Smoking by using an e-Cigarette. But I Did.

And I never thought I could drop down from 36mg to 28mg. But I Did.

And I never thought I could drop down from 28mg to 18mg. But I Did.

And I never thought I could drop down from 18mg to using 0mg in the PM. But I Have.

I guess the Next step will be cutting the 18mg to 9mg in the AM.

I think a lot of Vaping is Mental.

When I tried doing 0mg at night, I would get the Fidgets and the Jits. But just like every other time I reduced my Nicotine, it passed.

I noticed that I sleep Better when I don't take in any Nicotine after the sun goes down. That could be Mental also. But I go with what works. Even if it just my Mind fooling me and not something Scientific.
