Thank you for reading this everyone, and for your positive comments!

lol,, thanks! Dawn owns DIYFlavorshack.com and IMO makes the best, most flavorful and most ACCURATE juices out there. If it says "Thin Mint Cookie" that is precisely what it tastes like. Her Red Hots are 100% dead-on accurate to popping a handful of actual Red Hots in your mouth... even the way they dance on your tongue.

Be sure you select e-liquid page and not the DIY flavorings page though... she offers both.

Prices are expensive on DIY flavorshack compared to most other. $1 for 1ML Yikes. :(

Excellent post. I hate to admit it, but I usually am too impatient for such a lengthy post, but your words held me in there. It's so close to home.

Thank you. And, your words are taken seriously by me. Still vaping, no end on the calendar. I can see where quitting would be liberating, and as a 35+ year smoker, I can see where leaving the device which liberated me from that habit could introduce some problems which you've outlined.

Again, excellent post and thank you for it.

Hey Bandit, in a strange way I'm glad (for us) you're back. You have great insight.

Thanks a lot AJ, that means a lot to me!

If nothing else, at this time, you still had a MUCH healthier option to pick up instead of traditional cigarettes!

If the FDA gets it's way, you would just be another smoking statistic again. :(

Glad you came back to vaping instead of picking up a ....!

Unfortunately, the FDA could turn good, honest folks into outlaws, because I refuse to satisfy my urges with a proven killer (also don't want stink breath either LOL), so instead I would buy as much as I could to build up inventory, and if depleted... may look at alternative methods to obtain. Shame to have to think like that, but that's what happens when other feel the need to tell us what is best for our lives I suppose.

Thank you, by the way, for your continuing efforts in the battle against the .......s.

That's not expensive, but in comparison to some brands it does cost a small bit more. You get what you pay for honestly.

I won't mention names because it's unfair to them, but I have tried a great number of available juices and a few things won me over to DIYFlavorshak's product...

They are made in the USA, most popular juices are from China. I am scared of anything made in China going into my body, sorry.

If Dawn says a flavor tastes like something... it is accurate. How many times have you ordered a juice from wherever expecting one thing, and tasting something completely different? I was VERY tired of that, especially at the cost some of these come in at.

Dawn tosses in valuable freebies. Not garbage, surplus stuff... but some great exotics. That's precisely how I got hooked on her amazing Malamars (marshmallow/chocolate), it was a bonus in my 1st order, and it quickly became a favorite. Since then not one single order has been placed without getting Malamars.

Amazing, personalized service. Dawn will talk on the phone, get a feel for you, and even... if you ask nicely... will make you customized blends. She has made Tiramisu for me off-the-menu, and I have my own custom blend (Bandit Blend) which is Chocolate and DOUBLE banana... truly heavenly.

The bushes have been very empty without you.

So good to hear your story and your solution.

Welcome back!!!!

LOL! Thanks so much!!

What is a red hot? Is it some sort of spicy american sweet? I love spicy things and so far the best I have tried is Atomic Cinnacide from TV. (I am a bit sick of it now though)

Red Hots are a branded hard candy that are primarily flavored with cinnamon. Not too spicy, but a nice warmth to them.

I'm sure you could order them online and have them delivered to try them.

Thanks for the nice words, I'm glad you enjoyed the read. Enjoy vaping, and when you're ready to quit you now know what to look out for and stop it before it gets ahold of you!

Bandit, You seem very up on this stuff...maybe u could help me with a problem I (well, really its my husband) has run into. He says that after about the first hour of vaping a new flavor he can't taste it. Some he can't taste at all right from the beginning. I got a cinnamon flavor from awesomevapor that I find very tasty (almost as good as a fire ball) But he can't taste it at all. Now I was the heavy smoker (3pks a day full flavor menthol 120s) He only smoked about a pack a day and he's still trying 36mg nicotine...I'm down to 18 now. Could that change the flavor THAT much. I hadn't noticed that when I started and I started at 36 as well but maybe my taste buds just grew back faster or something...I don't know.... Anything you could tell me that might help?

Nice to see you back - not that I want you to be vaping, though. Strange thing for me is that I've gained quite a bit of weight since vaping and not smoking. I've always attributed it to the slowing of metabolism by not making my cardiopulmonary system work as hard as it used to when I was smoking. I know it has nothing to do with eating more because, if anything, I eat less now.

I wish I could help, but this is beyond my knowledge honestly. Best I could do is guess :)

I know that some folks burn out their tastebuds quickly each day due to how they draw on their e-cig however. If he positions the device upwards or straight on so that the stream of vapor coming into his mouth goes DIRECTLY across his tongue, this could be the cause of it. If he angles the vapor closer to the roof of his mouth, or more directly above the tongue into the back of his mouth, he can taste the vapor as it COLLECTS in his mouth, not sliding across his tongue.

Vapor in some flavors is "abrasive" (at least it can feel that way). I know if I had a super heavy vape day, my tongue would often feel raw, and when this happened my tastebuds were not as responsive.

Perhaps a little experimentation is in order? I'd love to know the outcome!!

Heather, the difference in nicotine level can change the flavor substantially, especially on some juices. Let him try an 18 of yours for a day, just to see if that's what is causing the problem. If he still has taste problems it could be due to strongly flavored foods and beverages, burnt out tastebuds that haven't healed fully from smoking, or vaping technique.

Best we can do here (without some sort of vulcan mind meld) is to try to narrow down the problem. :( Hope this helped.

PS: definitely check the cactus thing o_O that'd be bad. I'm off to lick a cactus...

Edit: forgot to mention, over the day a person will lose some flavor due to becoming used to it being in their mouth. Switching between juices, especially with very different flavors, can help curb this.

Good story. Someone might be able to see it coming. Most people don't take advice too well when it comes to psychosomatic issues but at least there is a place to feed off others journeys. I vape for the juice. I could care less what nic level it is at this point. I just love me some flavor! I also love walking into a building and seeing the smokers outside...like I used to be...and laughing (to myself, I would never make fun of them) as I walk by and realize I don't have to do that any more. Take my juice away though and it's ON. :)

Hey, Bandit, sorry to hear about the continuing fight....just goes to show what a true addiction means, and why so many fail to stop cigarettes, even with pharma's and everyone's best wishes for you!
I've been thinking about this too for a long time...stopped smoking, but now what is kind of a theme at our house....'when are you going to stop sucking of that thing' has infuriated me more than once. My husband is embarrassed at me, but he's still poking snus in his mouth! DUH.
I keep thinking I smoked for 44 years...I'll give vaping equal time and then decide. That will be 42 years and 6 months from now! I'll be 106 years old by then. If I quit, then I quit. I'll let you know.
