Clouds can be cool, but that stuff does seem to be taking over, or at least is more visible. It's like a store with mostly high prices on everything so when you see something reasonable, it looks like a deal. High power makes mid power look like low power, but it's not. And low power can be great but if you've been hitting some big thing, you're going to need time to "recalibrate" before there's any chance of being impressed by less.
Another aspect is like being into something for years, and then suddenly the new generation is making up new words and disparaging you for never hearing of it.
I kind of get that a better device with more output can be more effective at quitting smoking, but how much of that is really just the device being more impressive in itself, rather than what it does? New toy syndrome. No I'm not immune.
As to computers, I like PCs but Apple putting out less updates is inferior?? Seems better to me. I mean Microsoft has been working on Windows for 20 years, are they ever going to get it right? If they haven't yet, maybe they need to start over. As it is, seems their security model is like building a house with no walls, saying you're going to need curtains.
