That does look pretty nice with all 3 rings on it

My thoughts exactly Thye! And FWIW it offers even MORE protection for the button, not that it needs it though! The button was one of the major reasons the Chameleon is my first HV device (and looking like it might be my last! well, until colors are offered!)

Silverthorn,

The Chameleon is what my pic shows. Up until today I've only ever used stock 901's and they haven't been good enough for me to quit analogs. Not enough throat hit or heat (though the flavor is good I tend to prefer smoke flavors). Just got this thing this afternoon and so far it's AWESOME! I can't beleive how friggin' tiny it is and it weighs next to nothing. My first thought when I opened the box was, WTH it's gotta be empty! Hell, the batteries and atty weigh ~5x what the whole Chameleon weighs.

I got the extension sleeve (so I can run at 3.7v or 6+volts!). With a HV atty on and running two CR123's this thing really gives me what I didn't have before. The heat is there (I intially tried a normal atty it got REAL hot - scared to burn it out I switched to the HV version and it's a lot like regular cig smoke heat). It also has the TH feel that I never got enough of from a stock 901. So, if I can figure out the nicotine level that's right for me I think I'll be set!

DeXTeR,

I got one from Menards and one from Walmart (color selection was different but otherwise the same case. They cost about $15 and walmart sells just the "drawers" seperately (with different clasp colors) I think they're ~$3 each. It holds 4 of these pull-out, multi compartment "drawers" (and the compartments are somewhat customizable). The top of the case is a big flip-top compartment. I use one of these for my juices & supplies and I have one for my batteries and mod parts.

Ugh my whole post just got deleted due to lack of speed. :(

The extra rings sure do give the Chameleon lots of fine definition, but I think it's going to be kind of difficult to have one there while trying maintaining a solid connection. We went through most of them at Lowe's expense hehe, but maybe we missed a few. They have a wide variety of assortments there.

The Atty came out really nice! It's hard to mimic the anodize process that the Chameleon goes through to enable it to be scratch-proof. You did a fine job though good sir!

The box! I love it! I have 3 of the inserts, but never knew what it was intended for! Thank you!!!

I'm lovin how ecstatic you are good buddy! Definitely feeling the great vibes! Keep livin it up!

I could not find the o rings in the extension sleeve shipment that I received. It sure looks slick with the 3 rings on it. Those were #41 o rings that fit, aren't they? If so, I'll go get me some.

I do love the Chameleon. I hope my Chameleon and I will share many, many vapor blissful hits together.

hey toots! i'm not sure why you didn't receive o-rings with your order, but yes we do get #41 rings... but if you're looking to use 3 rings on the chameleon you're going to need to get a thinner o-ring. 3 of the #41's makes it so you don't get a very good connection.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'm an idiot! Looking into it further I realized that these are standard plumbing O-rings... so any local hardware store should do.

That's the strangest thing.I could've sworn that we had packed the o rings with every order...unless.

.

Toots: Did you guys order a while back when they first arrived? I'll be more than happy to send them out, plus an extras with the instructions of how to use them. I just need your order no. or email in Pm please :D

OK, I tried it! Looks a little better IMHO but it seems if you sand too much it exposes the copper color of the base metal? You can see at the ends I must have gone a little overboard with the drill/sandpaper. Non-sanded version shown for reference of what it looked like before sanding.

Mike, I've tried the same thing with a chrome 510 atty. It turned out pretty much the same. My next thought is trying to sand-blast it ....... I just don't want to kill this atty by loading it up with fine blasting media or remove the chrome plating altogether. I'll see if I can get into the blaster at work in the next day or so - and post a pic of the results.

I think the issue is that the metal isn't actually aluminum, appears to be brass? If you look closely at the ends of my attempt you can see the brass color showing. I'm now thinking sometime this week I'll get over to HD or Lowes and see if I can pick up some stainless steel looking spray paint. It'll have to be able to handle decently high temps but I'm sure they must make some sort of appliance/bbq spray paint with a matte silver finish. The only other issue I can think will need to be dealt with is the air hole and how to keep paint out of it during spraying. I'm thinking a tiny piece of tape or if that doesn't work maybe a dab of silcone or rubber cement. Just something to keep paint off that spot that is then easily removable.

Now that I've been using my Chameleon for a couple days I realize there's one thing I miss about my 901's, the colors! I have 901 batt/attys in a bunch of different colors and it makes determining what flavor is in them easier. Now I want HV attys in a couple different matte colors. Maybe I can find a matte clearcoat that I could put over regular shiny HV attys?
