My Atlantis is clone. Sad to hear that, but when I first want to do vape, my trusted seller have only the clone one. I dont have too much knowledge about vaping 23 days a go. I don't even know this forum exist.
So my excuse is, nothin. Guilty as charge. I will prefer original if I was able to. So my next tank will be original. Thank you for this thread to again remind me about it.:)

I remember in the flashlight world when Surefire was the #1 name in tactical flashlights and people were paying $200+ for them, even when all they had to offer were crappy unreliable filament bulbs. Then Cree came along and made LED's with 10x more light output with 100x more robust LED's than filament bulbs, and new flashlight companies were born, building LED flashlights for 1/10th the price. Surefire slowly but eventually figured out they can't survive with their old business model, and when you're no longer the only game in town you evolve or die.... They brought their prices down to sensible levels and started using LED's. Now you can buy their American-made flashlights for not much more than flashlights made anywhere else. They earned their keep.

Those of you clinging to the myth that authentics still command 10x the price of a clone are the only thing keeping the authentic mod makers from dying a quick death. If you have that much disdain for Chinese stuff, throw away your microwave oven, your computer, entertainment center, your wardrobe, and most everything else in your house.

I wouldn't be able to tell, unless I held it. If you knew the weight of an original, it would be easy to verify. I suspect anything vape related on eBay is a fake...

eBay is a great place to buy vape gear. Custom modders put their items there, there is some great secondhand stuff, some fantastic clones (as advertised), -and- authentic devices. eBay has purchase protection. It is on-par with American Express, if not better. eBay will nearly ALWAYS side with the buyer in any dispute. So if something is advertised as authentic and you purchase it and don't receive an authentic device, eBay will refund ALL of your money (plus you keep the clone). Due to the way that eBay consistently sides with the buyer, sellers make damn sure that their items are described correctly. If a clone is being sold, it will be stated in the item description.

If you investigated things thoroughly you would find that your suspicions hold no weight. You don't have to know everything about everything.:) Evidently your googling ability is lacking these days. There are many many authentic mods, drippers, tanks, cartos, batteries, chargers, accessories, etc. sold daily on ebay.

Just like all those VTC5 batteries people keep buying...

I'm sorry but in my opinion you are talking about legitimate factories who are outsourced by legitimate companies. They don't copy a design and sell it themselves. They manufacture the product that they are contracted to and follow the designs and specifications given to them. They work within the parameters given to them by the legitimate companies and their warehouses are bonded. Nothing unauthorized goes in or out of the factory.

I get the distinction, but the bottom line is if everyone's openly buying and selling clones without any laws telling them they can't, it's going to happen, and making it your personal mission telling people they should feel guilty for buying them is kind of pathetic.

I am not making it my personal mission. I am merely stating my opinions on the topic. Pathetic or not I believe I have the right to say what I want to say unless the mods tell me otherwise. You can disagree with me in a civilised way and we can have a heathy debate without resorting to insults.

I just think does who can, will buy it and does who can't will buy clone that's all. If u buy a clone not knowing if it's a clone and pay $150 or more for it than its authentic to you even if it's a clone. Because u will take care of it like an authentic. And if u buy authentic for a $50 thinking it's clone u will treat it like a clone. Well that's my opinion. Also I don't think it's right to sell clone but if it was so bad why don't they do something about it? If there loosing millions of dollars don't you think they'll put a lawsuit on China or any company that makes clone? But they don't and I don't think they will. If buying a clone was so bad they shouldn't sell it in first place or take an action

Was that as incomprehensible to everyone else as it was to me?

Being that you are from California you are either:
  • A non-native English speaker,
  • Under 18,
  • Posting under the influence
  • Or another fine example that the California public education system has failed miserably!
