It's not how much one earns, but how much one saves. Those same guys who can't afford to go on holiday order food everyday at work...
There was a time when people saved for things they really wanted. The clone buyers can afford the genuine device with the logos they want, maybe not right away, but they will appreciate it more if they save for it over time...

yes there was a time when people could do that..... now a days its nearly impossible....
just the basics are costly... utilities ( gas water phone electricity) ... house note, car note, food, insurance ( car and health) medical, etc can easily run 3000 a month and if a person is making 20$ an hour at 160 - 180 hrs a month, one doesnt save money....

That's the reason I got an orchid clone over authentic. It's a lot easier to swallow a twenty for something I didn't like and have to get rid of it opposed to a hundred and forty for an authentic. Same reason I build my own box mods I can build mosfet boxes with or without vv for forty to fifty dollars. Being an electronics tech for 27 years helps because I get a bigger price break ordering my parts with ones from work and I have real nice equipment to work with. Chip mods have been up and down depending on where I can get yihi/dna reasonable. Which brings me to another point/question there are probably 4 or 5 mech builders around me producing their own line of tube mods and quite a few box builders too. Seeing as how there are only so many ways to build a tube or box for that matter does that make us cloners or modders

If you can build one for $40 to $50, you can probably build 100 for $20 ea. and sell them for $100 to $150 and make a killing................

actually the desired percentage of profit for manufacturing after all overhead has been taken care of is 17% per year growth per year of production... above that 17% its price gouging.... ( excessive profits)....

Price Gouging?

In a Free Market, there is No Such Thing as Price Gouging.

I think I read that on the Socialist Worker, but those types prefer no name, generic mods. Copies of originals are too materialistic...

You seem to not understand the clone concept ...

Seeing as how you have the better understanding of the clone concept you could take a moment and explain it. I have 2 boxes sitting on my bench that look exactly like a Hex Ohm minus the logo my parts on those are identical. If I did a few minutes research I stand a great chance of finding an identical Outlaw 26650 like bought locally.

That would require more than just me doing it. I built a few for fun I'd rather be out riding somewhere instead of on my tech bench

ohhh but there is and there are laws against it.... for example, Home Improvement stores sell 1/2" thick plywood for around 17-20$ a sheet on lets say a Tuesday morning. Tuesday nite the weather forecaster sez a hurricane is going to blow right over said city, the Home Improvement store jacks the price of 1/2" plywood to 25-32$ a sheet Tuesday evening.... and everyone scrambles to the store to buy over priced plywood because they need it to protect the home... ergo price gouging

Then Please post a Link to these Price Gouging Laws so we can Look at them.
