I wouldn't say that age based groups segregate the community necessarily. It's not like I'm going to read a post, and then not reply because the OP is in the 55+ age group :)

Now, we have Prune, Activia and Geritol flavor juices for the 55+ crowd, so what's the juice of choice for the Gen X/Yers?

Juice? People still drink that? :p

I say over-hyped caffeinated "energy" drinks.

I'm not 55 or older. But, I LOVE the thread. I prefer talking to people that have "been around the block" a time or two. Now, I can go to one thread and find them all! ;)

...Why this seemingly new push to partition the community by age group?

Chill.

Homo Sapiens as a group gravitate to sub-groups, to their own kind. People who were around when smoking was chic have a different, uphill view of vaping than the rugrats who grew up with smokers as a pariah group.

When it matters—when the FDA threatens us with extinction—we all come together as one, circling the wagons.

Good point there. I was thinking the same thing earlier today. I guess it's just part of human nature to try and gain acceptance and standing in the world by simple association with whatever group. Makes us feel a part of something - vital. I've always been somewhat of a lone wolf, which may explain why I stand alone in my thinking on this issue.

Edit: I'd just like to take this moment to thank everybody for their input. I may be out of the loop in my thinking, but it's been educational and interesting to see how you guys feel about this. Thanks.

I don't believe standing is so much a part of it as is simple comfort, knowing the mattress of personalities you fall asleep with aren't apt to force the point of a spring into your back.

I doubt you're estranged from the human race as much as you like to believe.

Look man, I'm just saying that being the hep young cat that I am, I do not want to hear about how grandpa had to walk uphill both ways in the snow to meet the pony express to pick up his coal-powered mod. I don't want to discuss the merits of various prune-flavored e-liquids, and I do not want to know about how during the great depression the whole family had to share one PV and then Roosevelt announced rationing of e-juice on the new-fangled radio.

So I guess you're not interested in hearing about my steam powered laptop? Only weighed 62 pounds.
