Personally, I like using dual nicotine level with two full setups. In one tank/setup I'll have high nicotine and the other I'll have <= half the nicotine as the other one.

I'll use the low nicotine setup to satisfy my 'motor reflex' needs to chain vape and when I start having thoughts, urges or desires for a cigarette I'll grab the high nicotine setup for a hand full of draws/pulls.
Thanks for this. Can I ask how long you've been vaping for?

Good tip GeorgeS. When I first starting vaping I did the same and always had a tank with some 18mg juice for stressful times and times when I only had a minute or 2 between long, boring meetings to get a quick fix. It made a big difference to get a quick jolt of nicotine and as a result, there wasn't pile of dead bodies in the meeting rooms from my nic deprivation...lol.

@Roxyco , relating your experiences of transitioning to vaping is helpful to everyone here... so thanks for sharing! Even us "seasoned" vapers benefit from you sharing your experience both from reminding us why we quit cigs in the first place and cementing our resolve to not go back... ever. In a way, each of us here relive our own experiences of quitting tobacco through following your progress and remembering the joy we all felt when we reached a point of knowing we were vapers and no longer smokers.

So while we are here to help you in any way we can to be successful in your vaping journey, you are helping the community too by sharing your journey.

@Jazzman, well I'm glad I can help you as well! How long did it take for you to realise you were a vaper and not a smoker? I've found that it's all about putting yourself in a situation you would normally smoke in, and vape instead until you eventually break the habit (such as smoke breaks at work). I still go out for the break but while the others light up a cigarette, I vape, and the more I've done it the more it feels natural. Now I don't really miss smoking at all at work. The hardest part is when I find myself in a situation that I would normally smoke, and am not yet used to vaping in (such as at a bar, or when I'm incredibly stressed). I guess it's all about making that psychological transition... that vaping gives me exactly what a cigarette did in terms of nicotine, so craving them is just craving the 'habit'... alongside all the other disgustingly addictive chemicals. But so far so good... I've now completed my 4th day - completely cigarette free. :)

It seemed like a long time when I was quitting, but in retrospect it wasn't long at all. At the end of 2 weeks I was pretty much a confirmed vaper and I've never looked back. The first 2 weeks was wondering if this was going to do it for me and I went from a very underpowered vaping pen with gas station ejuice (nasty, but had nic) to a highpowered Ego (an Ego with variable voltage was the bomb back then) with a better clearo tank. Of course that's when I went to my first vape store and really got excited with a device that put out more "smoke" than a cigarette, which for some reason really appealed to me. That shop also had a juice bar to try out many different flavors. They must have hated me for sitting there for a couple of hours trying juices. But they were very kind and never let on that I was a pain in the azz.

So I walked out with a new mod (Ego) and a new tank that was much better than the gas station pen. The biggest thing for me was 6 bottles of different juices. The combination of lovely "smoke" and tasty juices just did it for me. And right about then I started feeling so much better, getting my wind back (walking up stairs was as easy as walking down a hallway now) and my taste buds started waking up and I didn't smell like a ..... I honestly had no idea how bad smokers smelled until then. So my life changed... and I really liked the changes. 'Nuff said, I was a vaper.

Timing is different for everyone though, just enjoy your journey and reap the rewards when they happen. Try to focus on the great changes that are happening to your body and how good you start feeling. And start thinking how great it will be to be around for your kids, grand kids, and hopefully your great grand kids. Which probably would not happen if you continued smoking.

Thanks for this. Can I ask how long you've been vaping for?

Sure, I started in April of this year.

I really was not trying to quit smoking altogether, rather I was just trying to stop smoking in the house. With an 'eGo' type VV pen battery, a decent clearomizer and some 18mg juice I was able to vape in the house.

Soon I was using it to/from work. While the eGo battery would not last very long, I had some Blu cigalikes to fill in the gaps while it was charging. I ended up getting a few replaceable battery tube mods and a 1/2 dozen Nautilus type tanks to go with them until I gave up on the factory coil thing and switched entirely to STM's, Lemo2's and lately TFV4's.

While watching TV I used to chain smoke so I ended up chain vaping. Chain vaping low nicotine juice was not satisfying and after a while I found myself wanting a cigarette. Then the idea struck me that I did not have those urges when I was vaping 18mg so I fixed up a tank of that and kept it nearby.

Personally I can chain vape 3-9mg without issue other than I'll eventually start craving a smoke. When those urges come I grab the 18mg setup for a few draws and switch back to the lower mg setup.

While most of my vaping is on rebuildable tanks with TC control, I do still use my old VV tube mods as back ups and fire them up from time to time. My old Vamo v10 with a STM mounted gives a decent vape.

I suppose it takes a while to 'get into a grove' and find what works well for you. When I started vaping I had one cigarette a day for three days and that was it - no more smoking for me. Everyone needs to follow their own path with whatever works for them and their goals.

Best of luck and happy Vaping,

    g.

Generally, yes, the craving for cigarettes diminishes to where you no
    longer want them.

Some of us struggle a wee bit at times. We're around others who smoke
    and temptation exists.

Been vaping about a year and a half now. I am at the point that I cannot
    let myself be tempted.

What I think may eventually work, a simple 900 mah eGo battery with
either RGM2 or ARO tank/s and a neck lanyard. That will be my walking
    around
kit to help me avoid temptation. Either the 900 mah or a 650 mah.
The only dislike I had with eGo style batteries was as they're round
they are bent upon rolling off of everything. Still, I could see them as
    useful in this case.

Hi everyone. I'm very new to vaping and have just got into it the past 2 weeks because my friend recommended it. At first I was sceptical and didn't really see how it could work for me, so I vaped for a few minutes and then just lit up a regular cigarette. But I'm enjoying it more and more now... I've gone from smoking around 10-15 cigarettes a day to hardly any at this point. The problem is, I'm still getting cravings for regular cigarettes (especially when I'm drinking alcohol) and have had a couple here and there which disappoints me. I see people saying how they went from smoking a pack a day to 0 just like that after they discovered vaping and this just isn't happening for me. I wonder if anyone else experienced something similar to me at first, and more importantly, will this go away so I can enjoy a life without cigarettes and just be happy vaping? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! (Apologies for rambling on!)

I have been vaping for a while, it was tough at first for me as all there was, was cig a likes. I now drip mostly and vape a lot still, but on the occasion I will still smoke a cigarette. I haven't bought a pack in at least 3 years but I will bum one sometimes. Just remember with vaping you have to still choose to not smoke and if you do smoke, you haven't failed. Every cigarette you avoid by vaping is a win, that's how I see it. I may smoke here and there but no where near what I would if I didn't vape. Don't tear yourself up about it, if you smoke you smoke but trust me if you want to quit, in the end you'll win out.

Thanks for this. I've actually gone 5 days now without a cig and am perfectly happy vaping at the moment :)w00t:). It's amazing how much changed since I posted this. Gradually I began enjoying vaping more and more and am no longer looking at smokers puffing away and feeling like I'm missing something. When I'm next going to be out, drinking alcohol, that's another hurdle I'm yet to cross. But you're right... compared to what I used to smoke, if I slip and have the odd cig, at least I know I'm never going back to how many I used to smoke. It's important to look at the cigarettes I'm not smoking. Right now though, I'm actually not tempted by cigs at all. I have my last pack still sitting in my draw from a week ago and haven't had the desire to go near it. Hoping this will continue!

Curious to know... What does the cigarette taste like when you do smoke it? Do you feel like you've missed it?

It tastes like crap to be honest, unless drinking then don't really taste it. I don't think I've missed a thing to be honest but sometimes just get a mood where I don't think the ecig can give me the fix, lol or just don't want to vape as not feeling like I want the flavors I have. If I keep a tobacco flavor, I find it happens less often. I have though found a few flavors I like with alcohol, so that helps a lot as that was when I usually smoke. The biggest thing I have found though is when I drink and do a good one, I don't feel as bad the next day if I had vaped and instead of smoking.

Yeah... that's the reason I finally made the decision to quit, I could smoke a pack easily in a night (when drinking) and would wake up feeling awful... mainly because of the amount I'd smoked.

Fairly well mirror their response to Roxyco's questions. Also thank you for the pointer to keeping tobacco flavors on hand. Tried a few tobaccos when I started vaping but did not find anything at least similar enough for myself. May be worth a shot at some different, or newer tobacco flavors. Will need to look at some reviews.

I've found a couple of local flavors both are a caramel cheesecake, they remind me of an ry4 similar to Halo Tribecca. They have a vanilla and caramel but wih a smokey hint. The tribecca is what I used to use a lot before I started dripping. Kinda has that sweet unlit cigarette taste, to me anyways.

Oh wow! Thanks for this. I really enjoy tasting RY4 juice. :) Nom Nom! The problem in using it is a valid point raised by my wife. "It is thick, lingers forever. I don't like it", she tells me. Then, our dogs kind of do this rebellion thing for a week. Their mamma is mad at papa, ergo they raise Hades for papa.

I'm looking at a review of Tribeca. May pay more for some to try, he says realizing the silliness of it. See it's priced at ~$0.67 per ml, in glass bottles even. Only a slight more than my tolerable ~$0.50 per ml in plastic bottles. Not enough difference for me to be discourage by cost.

Yep, I know if I D.M.S the costs would be drastically reduced. Well, I can see two differing views on this. It is fine to cut your costs as a consumer, great! At the same instance it is also as valid and great to support small businesses who cater to us as consumers. If they aren't earning enough to stay afloat, they go away. Big tobacco gains more toeholds for the win. This is why while yes, I like cutting my costs, I also do not mind spending (within reason) for gear & juice.

Have you tried any NET vapes?

NET = Naturally Extracted Tobacco: the flavor of what a tobacco tastes like, without additives or the MAOIs
