Sorry about double posting, but I'm just making sure you'd see my post as edited might not notify you. I hope it'll join with my previous one.

I've just read that there's bunch of fake VTC4's and Sony itself stopped producing them as they were not meant to be sold separately and were instead scavenged from Sony Products and sold that way.

Could you point me to a website that would sell genuine VTC4's for affordable price and about 1 week shipment to europe? Or maybe there's some other batteries that would be safe to use, even with 200W with good capacity?

I'm really sorry for offtopic, but I think that would be the best place to ask, especially since it's a relatively new product.

I've found this online shop which looks legit at first glance:
Bateria Sony VTC4 30A - 4esmokers™ - INTERNATIONAL E-SMOKING SHOP
To my knowledge Sony still makes the vtc4 and they're readily available. It's true however that there are many fakes. I've ordered batteries from Fasttech. It'll take a long time to get them though and it's not that much cheaper. In Europe (I assume you're there/here) I've ordered from akkuteile.de and eu.nkon.nl.

The vtc4 has a higher cdr than the vtc5 so if you want to go all the way to 200w get the former. If 180w max is ok (it's plenty) I'd recommend the LG hg2 or Samsung 30q. Both are 3000 mAh so they should give a lot longer runtime than the 2100 mAh Sonys.

I don't see how the battery type had anything to do with what happened. We aren't being given an accurate story of the events leading up to the explosion. I'd love to know how pulling the door away from the mod could in any way lead to a battery venting. The magnets are reasonably strong, is it possible that the door twisted in the friend's hand and got pulled back toward the mod and punctured the wrapper? No idea if that would cause what happened.

Yeah, the battery door can't cause that. Its damn near impossible to short the batteries on the door. Positive has to hit ground and short, with the door on, just not possible. Only thing i can see here is something foreign inside with the batteries. The sled itself is plastic and the sides of the battery is ground. Just doesnt add up. 10 amp batteries firing at 23 amps could do it if the person removing the battery door was pushing the fire button at the same time.
Would really like some more details from them, you think more would have been described since they took the time to post that much..

Looks like everyone here using LGs...are Samsung 25 greens not an option?

The Samsung 25r are a good choice for the Reuleaux. It's just that the LG hg2 (and Samsung 30q) have 20% more capacity.

Thanks..all I use are 25s in my devices so I'm comfortable with those..I keep em married, don't swap device use, labeled date of purchase & rotate often..

I bought the rx200 as my first TC device and was going to get the segelei fuchai but got this for the TI support and third battery design.

I got it friday and used it all weekend in power mode with dual claptons in my aromamizer and it was great.

Tonight.....Wanting to try Titanium I made dual 10 wrap 3mm ID coils, lightly spaced and pulsed in at 8W in power mode. They were .25ohm and working fine. Switched to Ti mode. I then let them cool down and locked in the resistance, wicked them, and put the tank together and the mod just hits temp protection everytime.
I can set it at 200f or 600f....temp protection everytime.

Spent past 3 hours building TI coils and same temp protection issue. As soon as you hit the button it goes into temp protection.
Ive made sure there were no shorts, spread my coils, etc
I even updated firmware on the device to 1.07 and no changes.

    What am I missing here?
Ive read to make sure wicks are saturated so slathered them well....same temp protection.
Kind of bummed out, I felt like I was missing out and just been using my reo for the last couple years. I wanted to switch it up and try TC.
Im at the point where I give up. The aromamizer is great with dual vertical claptons and thats what I have back in there. I feel like its a waste of time to even try TC again.

Am I the only one with this issue?

I have only been using ni wire and mine has been ok. That being said i am picking up some ti wire this week to test. Haven't seen many folks mention ti specifically for their tc so not sure there. Hopefully someone will respond soon with experience using ti on theirs.

I remember when I was having these issues in TC mode that it showed 200w in the corner. I thought this was odd but could of sworn I seen a review of this mod that mentioned wattage couldnt be changed when in TC mode..... Or was that the fuchai reviews I watched :O ?

Anyway...would that be the reason why? cause it was firing up at 200w in TC mode and it was too much? Can wattage be adjusted in TC mode?
Also it never asked if I changed my atty....
I didnt shut the mod off and back on after firmware update which was stupid of me, but I already got mad and ripped the Ti coils out and put my claptons back in :(
Ill have to wait to mess with it ...got work in the am.

Argggggg..... I wanted to be tempcontrolling at work tomorrow lol.

Just got mine today – love it when USPS delivers on Sunday! I’ve been using it only in wattage mode since I want to do the firmware update before using TC.

But even if this only did wattage it is well worth the price. The shape is perfect. It has the best in-the-hand feel of any mod I’ve used. While it has a good amount of weight to it, the shape keeps it perfectly balanced in my hand, and totally comfortable.

Best of all, I finally have a mod that won’t topple over when I inevitably hit it when it’s on my desk. The wide base, low center of gravity and heft keep it planted.

I’ve gone through two full tanks on my Goliath and the battery bar has not even budged from full. Granted, I’m running it at only 40 watts, but I’m still very pleased with battery life (running Samsung 25r’s).

Lower your wattage.....4 clicks of the power button followed by up arrow or down arrow.....out of the box its set to 200 watts, which is probably way to high for your build

I've been using Titanium wire exclusively in several tanks all on my Reuleaux RX 200. The coils are all 8 wrap 24 gauge Grade 1 wire and I haven't had a single problem except with the GEM atomizer which has a terrible positive contact design and doesn't work well with any TC device.
