Good luck with it Lu.

Watch out that you don't get the ideas of tolerance and dependence mixed up.

Sure, it could be a fine line but what I vape now has been sufficient to knock 2 packs of cigs a day out of my life. Personally, I don't care if I become dependent on the ecig (nic) if it would get me off the analogs. Maybe I can decrease from there, maybe not. I see others have so I remain hopeful.

I remember thinking how awesome it was that Smilin (Steve) was able to give up 5 packs a day....but he was carrying around 12 devices instead (not sure if he still does or what now). And I don't think he uses 36mg either.....24 if I remember correctly. Heck, I would settle for that....just no cigs!

But I am really anxious to give it a shot...so bring it on! And the sooner the better! :p

And not to get OT, but did you guys see this?:

"Was in the hospital for two days with what I thought was nicotine poisoning. Ive only been vaping the 6mg or 12mg juice but started to get extremely dizzy and sick.
The doctor told me it was not nicotine poisoning but sysemic absorbtion from lithium batteries.
The battery was cracked on the inside and allowed the lithium from the battery to vape with the e-liquid."

Hmmm....maybe some things aren't as apparent as they seem :|

I would take this with pinch of salt, personally.

In response to the original post, I posted that buring was the main symptom of ingestion of lithium ion battery, but that the poster had not mentioned that. I received a rather rude reply about me not being his doctor and not needing to disclose anything to me, and now that particular forum member has resorted to posting childish insults in the 'Visitor Messages' on my profile. Hmmmmm

I'm not sure what you're trying to find out Greg.

It would take approximately 15ml of 4mg to kill an adult and 1.25ml of 48mg to kill.

The danger is in the potency, you could more easily ingest 1.25ml than you could 15ml.

Is he asking ingestion.....or actual absorption through inhalation?

The problem, much like the absorption rate from the vapor, is that even with ingesting we have no idea how much of the nic is destroyed by the stomach acid and how much you would actually absorb in a short enough period of time. Then you have to factor in the inevitable vomiting and how much would be removed by evacuation.

I don't know the answer, but much like the calculations involving absorption during vaping, it's not possible it is even remotely close to the base content in the bottle.

I was refering to the understanding of potency through my calculation example attempt and in regard to ingestion as we appeared to be more concerned over the safety of accidental use of a child.

And Nuck has brought up another reasonable consideration about possible total toxicity loss of the amount "swallowed" by the body's natural response to evacuate through vomiting as it responds to the poisoning. Whether at that point it was too late to stop the end result is of course an unknown.

As far as its regard towards vaping, I believe the body would have sufficient warning signals to prevent a death by that means via the headache or nausia that would be experienced (and hopefully, with some adult common sense in educating ones self before use of anything that is being absorbed into ones body).

I suppose, as has been mentioned numerous times, that it boils down to responsible behaviour of the adult purchaser to insure proper use and storage to avoid incident. And the concern should end there, the same as it would with any other potentially toxic substances within the home.

Thank you for your responses.

Greg

In a court case the duty of care would be assessed - who has responsibility for being careful basically. Traders usually are held accountable for making sure their goods are fit for purpose. The standard people have to adhere to is the actions of a responsible person - whatever that can be argued to be to a jury.

This is from UK legislation:

Professional diligence
10.4 Professional diligence is defined (in Regulation 2) as:
‘the standard of special skill and care which a trader may
reasonably be expected to exercise towards consumers
which is commensurate with either — (a) honest market
practice in the trader’s field of activity, or (b) the general
principle of good faith in the trader’s field of activity’.
10.5 Professional diligence is an objective standard which
will vary according to the context. The word ‘special’ is not
intended to require more than would reasonably be expected
of a trader in their field of activity. However, poor current
practice that is widespread in an industry/sector cannot
amount to an acceptable objective standard. That is because
this is not what a reasonable person would expect from
a trader who is acting in accordance with honest market
practice or good faith.

Wide spectrim there...... Seeing how most people deal with 18 or 36 mg. It is all in the handling and use. As always it takes some responsibility on the person using the product.

Besides who is drinking this s***! I know a small quantity get on lips OCCASIONALLY if I overfill a cart. But I am for sure not going to shoot a shot glass full and drink it.

I would much rather drink a nice cup of tea!!

it is not a qestion of who would purposely ingest it. it was a question of what would happen if it was injested and depending on individual reactions the best answer is unknown at this time... every thing from vomitting, nausea, upset stomach, the runs.... hey i sound like a pepto commercial LOL

Awww, great. A chance to buy higher nic to stretch our juice supply even more while keeping a respectable amount of nicotine, and it get's swatted down by a bunch of fear-mongering mother hens?

I don't see what the problem is with 48mg liquid? It's only takes 30% less than the same amount of 36mg liquid to make you sick and it's not like we're spooning this into our coffee in the morning or plugging the bottles into our IV's, are we?

I think this supplier was overly aggressively attacked and is owed an apology.

Also, shame on the people trying to stop 48mg strength from being sold on the forums!! We are all adults and we're all dealing with a poison already. If you want to be nannies, mind your own home and leave the rest of us to our own devices. A word of caution is fine but to try and chase out a supplier for introducing something that could very well be used to help us, is going too far.

I noticed the biggest alarmist about 48mg were the ones that vape 0-nic anyway, so what do they care?

Bristow, Ok.
I use 36mg. That is what it took to get me off cigarettes. I have been cutting it down now. If 24 was the highest level available I would still be smoking. If 36 wasn't strong enough for me I would be wanting the higher level. This makes me want to buy this just to support the seller.
We all have hazardous products in our home. Cleaners paint thinners poison etc. Not to mention alcohol poisoning. What if a child picked up a bottle of liquor? Maybe we should ban anything stronger than beer.
