Yeah, me too!

I don't get why the plug wouldn't work for the 810. Couldn't Scottbee just use the hole punch he used for the blue scrubbie and slice a side off for the "D" shape the same way? I don't think he's ever used the straw though - I think he used the spring. from the phot he posted of the cart, I would think a straw would still work in that cart, to hold up the plug.

You know I orderd a 801 passthrew when I first got into vaping by mistake actullay two of them.. anyway I think im going to order a 801 atty and a pack of carts just to play with cause the 801 and 510's are so popular I just want to see what the 801's are all about..

Scary but I actually think I understand what Kristin is talking about!

Not sure if that was a backhanded compliment or not! 8-o J/K :D

I was thinking of getting some 901 carts too - Scottbee says they hold more liquid and fit the 510 battery - or was it the atty? I can't remember now.

Hey BOZO! You're supposed to be watching the ^%$#@ football game.. AGAIN! ;)

Anyway.... I get your idea perfectly. It just so happens that a 1/4" straw fits perfectly in the 901 cart. Therefore I could make a "drop in insert" easily! Cap one end.... cap the other end with the slit/hole. Bingo.

You've got some brilliance in ya! (I've got some Captain in me!)

I'll ponder this during the second half.

Ummm...the score is 0-17 Packers! Sheesh - I'm sitting in front of the big screen with my laptop, ya loser ! LOL!

Ok - you have a 901 not an 801 - we were just discussing that. Thanks for dropping by! :D

Dorks make the best plugs, AND at the end of a post. heheee

Change your u/name/handle here...

Should be ScottyNinja!

1) Wouldn't PG be a good enough lube?

2) R U capping the "Halfed" cart and then silicone'in?

Where I work, I can get medical supplies... 1-2mm tissue punch? Cost? hmmmmm.

VPN into work to check costs...

Isn't that the point of ALL cart mods?

Just curious about what you think everyone is trying to achieve with any cart mod.

Perfection would be a slow enough leak (or transfer of fluid from one medium to another) that your atty requires to stay saturated without getting soaked. This mod seems to hit the mark with a bullseye.

This isn't to say others aren't having equal success with other mods, but prep on this one is a freakin' snap, and if you use the self-sealing "X" cut, you can store your extra (pre-filled) carts upside down while you build more without having any of them leak.

The atty pushes up through the cap to open up the gap BUT is sealed by the rest of the cap. If the cut is correct (takes a few trials to get it right), it prevents excess liquid from soaking the atty.

AFAICT, that ^ would be the logic behind this design.

If thats what you think then tell me how many times a week you NEED to clean your attys??

Mine dont leak. Infact i have my Protege and other mods (BSB/Xhaler) standing all the time and the juice dont leak to the atty.. if they did, i'd know on the first hit as they would be clogged.

Sure i can make a little too small plug out of my blue foam like when i first started making them as they had a slow leak and i thought they were working perfect.. Before the night was through i had to clean the atty as it was clogged from runing way to rich.. i didint know back then to make sure to blow out the 2 holes at the bottom of the atty. So much juice ove rthe night that they were clogged pretty good and the draw was like trying to suck cold milkshake threw a straw.

This is genius. I'm going to have to keep an eye out for some nice silicone products to slice up over the next few days. I would, however, like to be able to leave the cart mounted on my 510 at night. Maybe I'll just keep one PTB loaded cart in my PCC and swap that in before I go to bed. I have had an entire cart full of juice leak out of my cart into the sanitizer spray bottle i keep my PV in and all I had to do was wipe down the inside with a kleenex wrapped around a pen, so if it does leak it's not that big of a deal.

I wonder if it would make sense to use some sort of media inside the cart instead of the straw to support the plug? Something fibrous with lots of negative space but it would still offer some surface tension to keep the eliquid from oozing out if the plug doesn't seat perfectly. Maybe use the 3m scrubber pad material as "batting" instead of as the plug for a RSP mod? I work from home tomorrow, so I have a feeling that I'll be cutting up all kinds of stuff while on conference calls all day.

Keep the great ideas coming, guys/gals!

I think it really needs something solid like the straw to hold up the plug, but if you use an X cut instead of a hole, it basically self-seals if you take the cart off. I've had mine sitting next to me, laying on it's side on the atty, and I haven't had any leaking with the X cut.
