Dave's Joose #61:

4% FA Butter Rum
4% FA Vanilla Tahity (I know how to spell Tahiti but that's not what's printed on the bottle.)
2% FA Spearmint

I'm vaping it within minutes of mixing it. Even with no steeping, it's sweet and YUM! The Butter Rum is a pretty strong but very good flavor, tasting very much like butter rum, which it didn't when used as a drink flavoring. The Spearmint gives a lovely tingIe and the Vanilla Tahity plays smoothly in the background. I give myself and FlavourArt an A on this joose.

Sounds good, Bells! Did you add any additional sweetener, or is it sweet with just the flavorings that you listed?

Problem with some shake n' vapes is it may not be that great a week or so later! Steeping can improve or... rot.

Supposedly, adding a little bit of citric acid to the juice will help to stabilize the flavor so that it doesn't change much. I've not tried it, myself, but there are lots of posts about it in the DIY forum. :)

Just the listed flavorings. It's been a long time since I've used any sweetener. Seems that my taste has changed; I hardly ever use sweetener any more. By the way, the best sweetener for joose, in my opinion, is liquid stevia.

1/2 tsp citric acid (powder can be found with the canning supplies in most stores) added to 10ml PG. ~2 drops per 5ml. Stabilizes flavors, acts as an ani-bacterial agent and preservative. Good to add to DIY juice especially if you make a lot and it may sit a long time. I know someone who sold juice to the public. He added it to every bottle.

If I ever have a joose that gets worse with age, it'll be my first. Then again, maybe my taste buds are just blissfully ignorant.

Good to know! I tend to add sweetener to almost everything. The only ones that I've tried are TFA Sweetener and TFA Cotton Candy (which is just EM in PG). I'll have to give the liquid stevia a try.

Thanks, Debi! That's exactly what I remember reading in other threads. I still haven't tried it, but I keep that info stored away in the back of my head "just in case". ;)

I always use TFA Sweetener or Cotton Candy.
TFA Sweetener is sucralose. The reason I switched away from sucralose and ethyl maltol is that to my taste, they both seem to stop getting sweeter at a certain point, no matter how much I added. I found liquid stevia to be sweeter in joose, even though I quickly got tired of stevia in my coffee and went back to sugar.

And thanks, Debi, for the tip regarding citric acid. I bought 10 pounds of it a year ago and I use it for cleaning my coffee brewer about once a month. I've still got 9.99 pounds, a lifetime supply.

Can I ask where you found FA butter rum? I went looking and had no luck.

I messed up. I got the Butter Rum from RTS but it's not FlavourArt. I just went and looked at the label, and it's Flavor West! I don't know how I did that. The labels from RTS Vapes all look the same. I went and checked my invoice and sure enough I unintentionally ordered Flavor West instead of FlavourArt. Now I'll be afraid to use it unless I can find out if it's been tested for Diacetyl and AP.

I've purchased 12 flavors from RTS since August of last year. I intended to order only FlavourArt but that one bottle is Flavor West. Sorry for my confusion!

Has anybody seen the Wismec Theorem tank? It uses a fancy pre-built coil, but it's an RTA. I thought it was pretty interesting... may have to pick one up at some point.

I checked MVS, but they're out of stock... they go for $25 (give or take). No idea how much the coils cost...
Wow that is a kinda neat idea. Will have to check that out. Still waiting to see the SX Pure but it is kinda out of my price range not even sure if it has come out yet and you can only use it on an SX ML The newest SX which I'm not sure has come out yet and the IPV5. My days of buying high priced gear are over for a while. All my SX's are still working perfectly and some are a year old. I been hitting my Provari quite a bit. Had a real craving for a cig a few times so I made som Creme Brulee at 6mg added 3% Maxx Blend to it which tastes like Top to me and a few drops of 12mg Buttery Hazelnut. Tastes really good and no more craving for cigs. Using it in a Nautilus on my Provari.

Yeah I like that Vanilla Tahity too got 30ml of it. Might add some to one of my Russian juices. I've got a ton of them, stocked up the last Vapocolypse scare. Now I need to get some VG PG. I really like the convenience of the stuff from ECX already mixed to 50/50 but its $30 a gallon. Have gone through 3 since I started DIYing. I get my nic from MFS already mixed to 50/50 in 100mg.

I have an old Orchid V2 and the plastic tank is cracked. Would you happen to know of a glass replacement, or what glass from what tank would work? :)
There's bound to be something out there that'll work, or at least something that can be modified. ! :)
Give Ibtanked a call ... they will make a glass piece to fit. At least they used too.
I would send them the cracked plastic piece to make sure the size was right.

Won't work. The tanks are threaded, which works for plastic. That doesn't work for glass. The most workable way to have a glass tank for an Orchid is with a totally different version which pressure-fits the glass with a threaded top-cap joining with a threaded chimney-top. There is another workaround, which joins the glass to threaded metal at the ends, but apparently that doesn't work well.

That sounds delicious! I'm still wanting to vape a tobacco. The ones I've tried just taste terrible. Like cig terrible. I did find a commercial pipe juice I really liked but it smells like pipe, too. Mom couldn't handle it. I got it as a sample in an order & had to take it outside. I think I could vape it because it wasn't just a plain tobacco, it had other flavors mixed in.
