what the deal with rayon. i am using japanese cotton and i like it just fine. what's the advantage with rayon. i think japanese cotton is the least expensive way to go, $12 bought me 180 sheets. that's allot of cotton when all you do with it is vape.

$15-18 gives you enough Rayon to last you three lifetimes.

rayon gives better flavor, abd you don't have to rewick as often before it gets that stinky wet carpet taste.

When i used cotton i was rewicking every two days. With Rayon i wick every two weeks.

One ECF member vaped 100 ml 3 1/3 fl Oz on 1 set of wicks.

You can vape until the wicks are black. Put the wicks under a faucet and 2-3 seconds the Rayon will be nice and clean.

rayon about $18 for lifetime of wicking for about 8 people,,, 3 people if you buy the small box.

see my signature: Rayon=no vapors tongue, cotton just cannot keep up with chain vaping

rayon fibers are pretty straight,, so it sorta acts like a pipe flowing water,, they last a very long time.. I am around 210 mls per change.

i really dont know if i would jump on a remodeling based upon front loaders. my friend had a front loading washer and he hated it. he got rid of it. it was not that old, he said it constantly leaked and he had gasket problems.
I love my front load, but be sure to wipe off the inner rubber ring after a load and inside the seal. Also leave the door open to air out the washer after a load.

How long has anyone been using the same Kayfun base? Will they last for say 3 yrs of rebuilding? Just wondering about threads holding up.
I used The same Monster Mini V3 base abd flat top bell cap for over a year. No runs NO leaks NO errors.

About 2 1/2-3 months ago i wanted to go back to MTL vaping so i put a KFL+ V2 base under tge same bell cap. This base had a little leakage. Replaced the O ring and worked perfectly.

I see NO reason a base wouldnt last 2-4 years as long as you don't abuse (strip) the threads.

If a stupid little acrylic bell cap can last 15 months. I would not be surprised at a milled Stainless Steel base lasting 5 years.

Thanks good to know! I think with bases and tanks I have enough to last then :)

In that Monster Mini V3 base the only thing i had to do was change 1 set of screws to trap the leads. That was after 10-11 months. The threads on the screws wore put new screws in and it was like New.

I prefer the V1 base with the V2 flat top. I take the rubber ring off and give a quick swipe with a vaper towel when I refill it. That the V2 holds seepage under the ring is OK but my V1's look cleaner most of the time.
The V2 AFC tends to stay in place better though. That's really only an issue with the V1 when I'm driving or if I stick my mod in my pocket for a minute.
Either way, all I need is a few V2's for the flat top & as many V1's (plus glass tubes & 2 hole rubber rings) as I think I'll need to last till the dirt lands on my box. Add a few hundred feet of 24ga kanthal & $15 worth of rayon and I'm good to go.

Here is what I did on the V1s. I wanted less airflow but I HATED the rubberbands. So I got some aluminum/silver colored silicone sealant and plugged two of the airholes.

In this view you see the sealed airholes, doesnt look bad at all.

You wanted less airflow? Are you using it for MTL or something? I run mine wide open without the band and it is one of the most restrictive DL tanks I have. It produces great flavor and vapor (especially now that I replaced that stupid anti-spitback DT) but that still wasn't enough of a change to give me the sort of airflow I like.

i will tell you I don't go 'cheap' on my brakes. I had a brake job done and about 6 months later the front end shook every time I touched them at 30-40 mph,, I googled it ,, I cruised the bmw boards.. it was a common problem for many cars.......then an old mechanic friend visited,,,, he said brakes are not made to the same standard as 20 years ago.............switch to ceramic brakes and the car is brand new..............--he was right.

rockauto sells decent brakes but you have to take warranty into consideration on some items. i bought brakes from autozone and they replaced them every 30-40K free of charge. i think the one car i had, had 4 sets out of the 1 purchase. same with alternators and starters. if the price is somewhat close to autozone's price autozone will get you a better warranty. that is if you plan on keeping the car. personally i will keep a car until i can no longer service it. i dont run my camaro in the winter heck i might still have it a decade from now. i also take all of my cars to get a krown treatment once a year. if anyone here knows that is, its an oil based type treatment that supposed to keep rust from forming. it works well, they claim it will never rust and i dont know about that claim. the camaro sits in the winter but i have treated to keep the moisture away

i think the airflow is perfect without the rubber bands. make sure your cotton on your RDTA deck is not blocking airflow. because i did have that problem until i realized where the restriction is coming from. frankly i love that tank, that's why i bought so many of them. its a product i love that was able to buy for $12 a piece.

That makes sense then. I can MTL my 0.19 build with all 4 air flow holes open.

My Rayon is not blocking the airflow that I am aware of. It is just a much more restrictive DL draw than I like compared to my preferred tanks like a Boreas, Billow, Griffin, Gemini, etc.

Agreed, the V1/2 are what I standardized on for my 20 year plan.
The V2 AFC ring is perfect, on the V1 I just had to clog two of the holes.
I run dual vertical coils in mine, the coils dont obstruct airflow at all.

I had a package out for delivery yesterday that wasn't delivered. Now it shows status not updated. So, since I seem to have random postal issues far more than the norm, I called to ask what "not updated" status meant. After looking at my tracking she asked for my phone # and said she would call back. She did call me back a few minutes later. She said the carrier had it and would be delivering it today. She then said, "that doesn't explain why she didn't do it yesterday." She also said that there was no excuse if a package has an address on it and the carrier is at that address it doesn't go into that box.I then told her of the several misdirected pieces of mail and the misdirected package I have received, of packages marked as delivered one day and then delivered the next all within the space of the last 4-5 months. She asked me to start keeping a log of incidents to give to them and seemed apologetic and sincere about it. So, I'll keep a log. At least she recognized the issue was on their end unlike the last guy I talked to there.

I sure am happy I stocked up on Kayfun lites and Provari's because for me they are the perfect MTL set up. I have quite a few Kayfun mini V3's too that I haven't tried yet, saving them for later when I need something "new" to play with LOL

I had one package marked as delivered Sat but didn't show up until Monday. I think some Carriers maybe scanning them in the office instead of time it goes in the mail box. Back when I was working at PO there was talk of having a scan code per mail box, package gets scanned and also the mail box scanned, this would cut down on discrepancies for actual delivery and where. Sounded like a good plan but guess they never did it.

im going to cash in on the lightning vapes wire sale. the price is right. im not going to spend ALLOT but im going to buy some wire. i want another roll of 24 GA kanthal, i am also considering buying some temp control wire. what do you guys think of stainless. i have never done temp control.

also what's the deal with rayon. i have been using japanese cotton, works great and its cheap. what advantages does rayon offer.

there is so many variations to do the same thing, vape...... hard to keep up. i know there wasnt nearly as many variations when i smoked. i used to smoke RYO so you had choices of different tobacco, different injectors, and different tubes.... but vaping HUGE variations. different regulated and mech mods, too many different types of premade coils, tanks, RDTA sections, wire, cotton, rayon, batteries, chargers, temp control, wattage, ect ect. just too much stuff lol. so far i have only done kanthal on wattage mode. i love making my own coils so much cheaper.

so what is a good gauge of stainless if i buy it? i have a roll of 24, 26, and 28 of kanthal

SS is my preferred wire, clean and crisp taste. I like it over Kanthal and SS you can do Temperature Control. I don't do Temperature Control, too much busy work but it does TC very well.

i really like the build deck on the aromamizer. im not trying to put cotton in a chimney then having wicking problems later. that kind of drives me nuts, i can do it but it always seems i have to mess around to avoid leaks and then possible dry hits. seems like it has to be absolutely right for it to work. i dont seems to have those problems with the aromamizer mainly because i dont have to worry about a chimney. seems like its spot on every time, with a vertical build. it produces great vapor too, but my main reason for liking it is the easy to wicking with a vertical build

does rayon avoid the problems i seem to have with cotton? maybe i could use rayon in those other decks to avoid the problems i always seem to have with leaking and/or dry hits.
