Well, some may feel I am waving my pom poms but I'm not (i'm as far from a rah rah guy as it gets). Instead, I am using basic, unemotional mathematics to make the point that our odds of taking the bite out of these Deeming regulations are pretty good. It's so easy to focus on only one proposal and get down in the dumps. But my point is this is the wrong way to look at it. Got to look at all the proposals in totality while looking to increase the odds of each...no matter how dismal they appear. A burglar has a decent chance of a single bullet missing him but a much lower chance of a shot gun blast missing him.

Do kids still use the term "rah-rah?"

Move to Michigan, we're a very vape friendly state. Our state legislators passed a bill to make vape products NOT tobacco products. In fact, they even went so far as to override their own party's (Republican) Governor (Snyder) veto. We can vape wherever we want, unless a private business says we can't.

I'll just say this, I'd much rather have a bunch of posts in the near future belittling all of us who thought the sky was falling and panicked and stocked up for no reason, than a bunch of posts from people who didn't stock up and now don't know what to do.

I hope there are people making fun of the panic.
I hear ya. Nobody should be making fun of Chicken Littles though. Way better to be prepared and not need it than to need it and not have it. Sorta like carrying a firearm...

Yeah... For each roll of the Dice after the first roll, one has to take into account that the desired outcome Did Not occur in a Previous Roll(s) if the rolling of the dice Stops when the desired outcome is obtained. There is a Dependency on the previous roll(s) that the desired outcome Did Not occur.

Roll #1: P(a) = 1/6
Roll #2: P(a) = 1/6 + (1/6 * 5/6)
Roll #2: P(a) = 1/6 + (1/6 * 5/6) + (1/6 * 25/36)
.
.
.
Roll #n: P(a) = 1 - (5/6)^n

You forgot to factor in the house comps. Odds at different casinos don't vary very much, so you have to look at what goodies they offer for you to play there. I'm a Royal Diamond member with my own Casino Rep. :)

You know, in all my time on ECF I have run across only one person who wanted to vape yet never smoked in his life. I tried to discourage him while being nice about it. I was honest and told him vaping was relatively harmless relative to smoking but if he could...don't do either. Not sure what he ended up doing.
Ok then, how do you suggest someone gets nicotine that's wants it because it's good for the brain?

True, in reality, no matter what happens, the vape landscape will be different from what it is now. So, if you know what you like, and have the means, there's no downside to buying extra now.

I haven't been to a Casino in a Long Time. Some Misunderstanding about Card Counting.

I only go because when my mother passed away I promised my step-father I would take him to her favorite casino for dinner once a week. They had been going there for years.

A long time ago I figured out a system that works for me. I play with house money, pay it back and get to keep what's left. I bet conservatively, so I usually break even, but it's the bets placed that are counted, not if you win or lose (or where the money came from) so it appears that I'm a little high roller. And little high rollers don't actually have to use comp points for a lot of things - the casino gives them to me so I won't play anywhere else.

The only thing FDA should be Deeming under this Act is:
Their Precious Age Restrictions
Child Safety Caps
Strength of Nicotine Available and steps - 36mg/ml., 24mg/ml., 18mg/ml., etc.
Advertising - Adult audience
Let them eat the bullet on making a Profit from Harm Reduction! :grr:

Never mind - They just need to get the hell out of the way:-x

ETA!!!!!

Hey, once Pharma have completed the shut down of vaping they will be releasing lots of nicotine medications. They won't be as much fun as vaping though, and they will cost you or your insurance company big time.

Thanks for bringing this up.
I believe there may be other states that have done this. I have forgotten
about this.

As far as I know Federal law trumps state. I wonder how Michigan will
deal with this usurpation of its sovereignty? The word on the street is
the FDA through the CDC will be using state Health Dept's. This is
part of how they are going to be starting serious enforcement after
August 8th. I forgot to archive the details. Perhaps someone remembers
where this was brought up here on the forum.

Keep us posted on what happens there.
Regards
Mike

Somewhere out there
One doesn't miss what one doesn't know.
I'm pretty sure most people have ingested nicotine thru food and our brains have nicotine receptors just depends on a persons delivery system, and amount desired. Vaping does give us more Nic than potatoes :)

I have always maintained that Political Correctness is the root of all that is evil in our country. It is responsible for the downfall since I grew up in the 70s.

I'm a vocal card carrying member of the SPI(Society of the Politically Incorrect) [emoji39]

I've always believed one has the right to say what one wants and others have the right to be offended by said statement. However, the offended DO NOT have the right to prevent one from speaking their mind. That is the essence of the first amendment.

History is ripe with examples of what can happen when that right is usurped. The parallels with our current politicians and those historical examples are rather frightening.

Hitler started by attacking free speech, then freedom of choice then freedom itself. Saddam Husein did the same as did many dictators and monarchs throughout history.

The common theme was saving the masses from themselves as they are too weak to run their own lives.

Hitler and Saddam (and Stalin and...) also required right control over the press. Scarily similar to the situation today.

I hope you are right, but I can't find anything to match what you're saying. I know 2 bills went through that would have designated vapor as 'not tobacco', both were vetoed by Governor they-don't-go-far-enough-or-tax-them Snyder. I haven't found any record of those vetoes being overturned. Plus, now that the FDA has deemed, I doubt Michigan will fight them.

New bills are on the table, and they're not just about the children. :sneaky:
