It really IS quiet in here.

I spent my weekend working on QuickBooks for work. Then it was raining really heavy this morning, and I just slept in (until noon). I was exhausted.

See why I don't post much? Wasn't my weekend oh so exciting?
Come here so we can brighten your day! We've been rain free since about 11. But there's supposed to be more coming.

I like them both. The first was fun. Left me a bit breathless. Which made the second one even more beautiful afterward.
That is so nice to hear, thanks! I made the first one while hanging out in the hangout so I was multitasking, but I agree that it wasn't quite as dizzying as I thought at first.

Here's just 20 seconds of the same flight, uploaded in very high definition to show one of the white birds that was challenging the quad copter. I was descending to land but then went back up a little to try and catch it on camera.

No audio. The bird flies enters the left side of the screen at 14 seconds and exits the right side at 18 seconds, halfway between the horizon and the top of the screen. I'm accustomed to turkey buzzards taking an interest but not these white birds. I have no idea what kind of birds they are.

Hey Dave I like them both too. The fast one is cool. What do they grow in those fields that are all tilled up. tobacco for nicotine hopefully.
I haven't yet seen anything growing in those fields but I don't have any quad copter videos of those fields from the months of June through September. Quad be willing, I'll keep an eye on them this summer.

I almost forgot what is the range on that thing and if you lose contact I take it that it will find its way home.
Under ideal conditions the range can be as much as 3 miles. I don't have anything approaching ideal conditions here at my house, with all the trees around to block the signal. I have gotten more than a mile though.

Yes, the quad "goes home" if it loses contact long enough. If it breaks or loses a prop, all bets are off. It can't fly with only 3 props.

Ought to have little nano-bots to do inflight repair. Soon to be available as an upgrade at a, ahem, slight increase in cost... ;)

Most or all of the copters with 6 or more rotors can limp home if one prop or motor fails, but I don't know of a quad copter that can do that. Even though the 6 and 8 rotor models greatly increase the price tag, they're probably not as expensive as nano-bots. :)
