What's wrong with the simple silicone caps like in the KR808? No glue, no need for a needle. The extra long silicone mouthpiece can hold the other cap in place to prevent leaking (which it seems like it does anyway). Why complicate it more, or am I missing something?

I agree.. I made a video of it earlier in this thread... in fact I believe it was one of v1's suggestions that sparked me to try... that and I use cartomizer parts for just about every tip and trick ecig related :p

It only seems that way, I had on leak while puffing it, it's not a good idea when carrying them in hot weather, and the ecig fell one time while driving also, a lot of movement and temperatures and wear and tear on both caps (silicone and o-ring) make it an unprofessional design.

It works, but only around the home and with extra care.

Right, LGD, it's a good idea that works, but not professionally for heavy duty prime time, I also mentioned that I had not tested it under such extreme conditions a while back....but it does work around the home.

But if microcig won't do it, it seems like someone will, based on others' recent posts. I hope microcig does it, but if not, then whoever does will have heavy duty professional cartos while microcig will continue to struggle finding glues that people will vape.

I am doing the same thing with my Hello battery. However, I am taking it one step further and tail piping. So far, this method comes closer to "My old familiar taste" than any other. As stated in my earlier review, most of my testing will be for taste above all else.

On another note, I found that the mouth tip of the E-2 is not for me. Because of its thickness, the air intake is almost touching the heating coil. This gives a hot stream of air on the tip of my tongue and changes the taste somewhat. It helps to pull it out half way, which equals the thickness of the older soft tips.

I traded out the e-2 end cap for one from an old carto.
(I knew there was a reason I kept all of those):D

god knows there's more of those parts lying around than any other lol

I guess I'm under thinking it then.

I've had them leak lightly while in my pocket and in my carry case with the standard 3 hole cap it came with. I wonder if there's a significant difference in the amount of leaking between the cap/oring (I haven't tried it since my connection frustrations are trumping any other design flaws atm)? If it's the same overall, in my eyes, they're disposable so the whole "wear and tear" line of thinking is moot.

The mouthpiece caps sometimes also fall out, I noticed, probably with wear and tear and heavy duty conditions outdoors, especially when removing the silicone end covers...
(another reason to use a professional, high quality, metal 3-hole cap pressure fitted just like the thread connector is).

Another time, I was just barely twirling my ecig back and forth (just barely, nothing rough)while holding it with my fingers, and the juice came out through the non-professional, non-heavy duty, non prime-time o-ring. So this only works around the home, and not if yoou have pets.

They need a professional metal 3-hole cap that looks like the bottom of a kr808d1 carto.

As I have mentioned in the other thread, I will figure out a way to put a whistle tip (prolly a modified 901) on these things like I have done every other cartomizer design.. and be done with it.

First off, I prefer the whistle tip to a round tip. Secondly, it increases the length of the vapor path, which cools it down just a tad and keeps the coil away from the lips and tongue. And third, they are really easy to pull off when it comes time to refill.

I suppose it's not a horrible idea, but it obviously guarantees the need for a syringe. Not my favorite approach tbh. But if it creates the perfect carto, who am I to judge?

At 70 cents a piece, though, (plus a little for liquid and shipping), you really could get them prefilled and never mess with an injector filling tool.

These are truly disposable, at a buck a piece, you can get 4 to 6 cartos a day and still beat cigarette costs. No syringe, no refilling no mess, just dependable and professional vaping with the metal 3 hole cap.

I cut the flats off from a plastic 510 tip and it fits ok. They have a longer round part than my 901.

What Sctobee said... :smokie: I'm definitely too much of a flavor snob to go prefilled.

I believe I had mentioned it in passing in the "Burning Cartomizers..." thread. I didn't give any additional details though.

I will certainly give full instructions with pics once I do it. Hang tight!

I'll keep my eyes open.

I'm just going to have to be patient for now. If the smell/flavor thing is fixed along with the connection problems it will make me happy. Until then, my current methods aren't bad enough that I feel the need to fight with the current stock I have.

Scott , The 801 soft whistle tip will fit with a little stretching , I put them on all kinds of cartos .
