The description of the wicking problem from V4L seemed lacking to me. Without seeing the innards close-up it's hard to tell, but it seems if one were carrying these upright in a box mod (battery side down) the wicking would take care of itself. It's just a quess but it seems the wicking material would have to be present throughout the liquid chamber - else it wouldn't work at all.

Oh well, I'm just rambling. I'll have to wait and take one apart myself.

I'm willing to bet a nickel of somebody elses' money that you can take one of these 2nd Edition cartos.. vape from it for a very short period of time (no power vaping).. let it "rest" for a few minutes.... vape again.. etc., repeat. And it will be fine. It has to do with the wicking characteristics of the "string" (most likely silica braid/fibers), viscosity of the liquid, and the "pinch point" that the braid goes through when it transitions from the reservoir to the pot. There is a "time constant" associated with the replenishment of e-liquid.. and I'm guessing that it's just too long

If I'm right.. then there is long-term hope for the concept embodied by this design.

lol, how about this? If you blow into the cart it diverts the air/pressure to the outside resevoir. That pressurizes the resevoir and forces liquid through the pinch point (and hopefully up the wick). When you suck on the cart it pulls air through the bottom vent and over the coil (and vapor being produced).

So you just don't take your mouth off the cartomizer while vaping. It'd be like snorkeling in the ocean  power vaporers unite!

Maybe the pinch point and wick is not large enough. It would be nice if the Royal supplier associates would post here regularly. I think hundreds of us should have been able to order a couple them as well.

The 2.5ml supercartomizer for the eGo meanwhile, is exceeding my expectations. So excellent wicking is not something impossible and unheard of, but further details about this one are in its own thread in the 510 sub forum.

The more I read this, the more reasonable it sounds. I can imagine the Chinese testing these taking drags every minute or two (similar to how most people smoke cigarettes).

Hope you're right! :)

I'm kinda holding out hope. V4L having exclusive rights were hoping for absolute perfection IMO. I'm sure they put them through some rigorous testing, chain vaping. I haven't checked but I'm guessing they're still selling version 1 with the burning filler. They sure weren't the ones that held a breaking news conference about that either. They gambled a bit with the exclusive rights, and now they have flaws, so they got cold feet maybe. I dunno holding out hope, not bashing V4L.

For me personally if I couldn't hit it back to back, and had to give it a minute to wick, I could still live with that. Puts multiple devices to use as well. I know I'm reaching, just trying to stay optimistic until I can draw my own conclusions.

Also, may be a blessing in disguise as V4L won't be able to dictate the pricing.

Or.... maybe.... just maybe.... since e-liquid.cn saw this thread, and even put it on their site, they saw how people were liking the idea, and there have been many comments here from others saying they didn't like V4L controlling the pricing of the 808's, maybe e-liquid.cn pulled out from the deal themselves, and V4L is bashing the product to try to sway people from ordering direct and saving a crap load of money.
Disclaimer: I AM NOT BASHING V4L's ethics, I do not know any of them and have no personal knowledge of their business or morals. I am saying this just as a "MAYBE".

I seriously doubt that. The exclusive deal was only going to be temporary, anyway...

Hopefully Microcig will go back to the drawing board and fix this problem, then we can look forward to the "E3".:)

But you've always been able to buy most of what they sell other places for cheaper. Sure, V4L "tweaks," but it's not like getting a regular Kr8 vs. getting a Vapor King is the difference between night and day.

And V4L has never really been a company to gouge people. Their kits cost more, but they are pretty active in making videos showing how to refill, save liquid, etc. A lot of stores will actually tell you that you can't refill a cartomizer, if you ask them, in order to get you to buy more.

Also, the user reviews I've seen so far for these things is pretty consistent with what V4L said. They are clearly an imperfect product from everything I've seen so far.

That said... I may try them anyway. Because I'm young and dumb like that.

wow, this is deep... So you're thinking that they offered and accepted an exclusive distributorship contract and then saw there was interest in the product and some people on the internet didn't like the idea of an exclusive distributor,... so they pulled the deal, back door the distributor and sell direct? And why would V4L care if people bought it? V4L had an exclusive and declined. that about it?

Disclaimer: I AM NOT BASHING V4L's ethics,
Yes you are. lol. Just saying "I'm not" doesn't change that. I AM NOT SAYING I THINK YOU SHOULD BE WEARING A TIN FOIL HAT WITH YOUR CONSPIRACY THEORIES THAT DON"T MAKE MUCH SENSE :)

I do not know any of them and have no personal knowledge of their business or morals. I am saying this just as a "MAYBE".

So you're saying you don't know anything at all about them or their business but you're going to speculate anyway?

That's fine. Explain how this makes any business sense at all. Even if you were a crooked business?

We are never going to know the exact deal or what went wrong, nor is it any of our business. Public bashing of either company by people not directly involved with either company is uncalled for and does not have a place in this thread.

So you spent money and find out it may not be well spent, I did the same thing, but there is no need to be hostile towards V4L because they announced that they do not like the design and do not wish to carry it. Don't kill the messenger.

Happy Vaping!!!!
