Just curious if I'm alone. Seems like I find a vaping solution that I'm happy with. It lasts for around 6 Months to a Year. Then I get bored and find myself chasing new and improved Equipment with a Spurry of activity.

For example March of 2018 I started vaping exclusively with the Joyetech Penguin so 11 months with one system.

Then in the past month:

I've bought 2 pod systems:
Joyetech Magic Atopack → Haven't tried yet I ordered it from China because not available in the U.S. Got tired of waiting and bought the Artery Pal 2
Artery Pal 2 → Very Nice

A Squonker with tank Combo:
Ijoy Capo with Combo SRDA Tank
Reason I bought it was that I used to squonk and loved it but there were no regulated devices and I got tired of building the Attys. This one you can replace the Atty on the deck with prebuilt. Had to try it and it's tremendous.

I forgot that the Combo SRDA Tank allowed you to replace the atty so I
bought a VandyVape Maze Squonking RDA. It's Amazingly good.

Oh on top of that I'm trying new Nicotine base and Nicotine Salts from Nude Nicotine because I'm looking for milder Nic hit.

Oh and I put up a post about VG. I use the Mountain Rose Organic VG which is smoother than any other VG I've tried and one thing lead to another and I bought VG from Nic river then saw that they have Nic Salts at way lower price then Nude Nic so bought 250ml of the Smooth Nic Salt 100mg along with there VG. Tonight is very dangerous, just got paid and have a little left over.

It all seems to happen at once! And So Expensive!!!!!

I'm not complaining my new Squonker is providing tremendous flavor.

I still like trying new rebuildable mtl rtas, but they are exactly in line what I have been vaping for many years. Same with mods, I only am interested in very small 18650 mods and if one catches my eye, I might indulge. But I always and will always stick to what I have been successful with, always rebuildable mtl rtas and small mods. I see no reason to change my vaping style, like devices that perhaps double my wattage or double cloud size, or change my type of juice, nic, etc because I have already successfully quit smoking . I guess you just reach a point where you know this is it and it's the right set up.

Sounds to me like intermittent shineyitis. It’s a known problem which deeply affects the community. There is a support group for sufferers here:
Shinyitis Support Group

Hmm. From my own personal tribulations, I'd be careful that IS doesn't turn into PS (Permanent Shineyitis). Symptoms of a worsening condition include:
  • Spending a lot of time hunting for discounts, freebies and good deals
  • An unquenchable desire to get that "perfect" vape experience
  • Realising that parts of your vape collection don't match and purchasing colour co-ordinated kit
  • Being subscribed to multiple vape channels on YouTube
  • Being on first named terms with the postman, DHL and FedEx drivers
  • Having ore than 0.5 meter squared storage space for vape gear
There is only one cure. Take a large 1m diameter pot, place all your credit and debit cards in pot, fill with ready mixed concrete and when set, drop in nearest ocean.

I don't do that at all. I have been using the same mod/tank combo for about 15 months now and don't feel any need to change. I like this setup so much I bought 3 more of the same mod, and one more of the tank. I probably should buy more of this tank as backups before they become unavailable though.

Do tell what is this combination that has allowed you to reach Vaping Perfection.

I bought an aegis legend with a wasp nano rdta in June last year. as an upgrade from ipower Pharaoh mini combo. I liked the wasp nano and had a couple clone rdas. I *was* satisfied. Then in December or January I bought a authentic dead rabbit, ended up not liking. Found a pulse 80w for a good price and also a drop solo.

For me, it's been my DoggyStyle rta's. They work very well for me at around 15 watts and though I have tried other atties since I've found these, none have been better. They have their little quirks, but then all atties do :)

These days I'm kinda hung up on them. Their price on FT is pretty good too, so I've bought a bunch of them in case they stop selling them. I think I've got enough of them to last me 20 years now :)

Hi Ryedan! Do you have a favorite Doggy? I like the SJMY version you linked above, but now I'm eyeing the SXK 2k18 with a larger air intake hole and top fill. Do you have one of those in your kennels? :)

HCigar VT 75D mod, with Serpent SMM Tank (single coil), custom narrow drip tip, 26ga SS316L wire 3mm dia, 7 wraps @0.5ohms, Air flow closed about 70%, TC mode 30 watts @ 435F. Nice semi-loose MTL draw, smooth experience from start to end of a pull regardless of length, consistent day in and day out. Haven't changed any of those specs in 15 months.

I am growing skeptical, personally, of the wisdom of buying multiple backup devices of the same model. The thing has lasted 15 months. What’s the record around here? 6-8 years? And when one of those people logs back in they feel like rip van winkle. Some new hotness will emerge that simply must be experienced. Progress is slowing somewhat. A lot of the new changes such as plastic tank furniture seem random and ill thought out to me. Mesh coils turned out to be pretty successful in drop in coils at least if perhaps not quite so much in RDAs. There’s all this wacky new technology in pod coils right now. Most of it appears to be stupid, but some of it could turn out to be must have. I’ve got a dozen old RBAs on a shelf all of which still work and were simply out moded. If I really need a backup I’ve got one.

I never buy multiples of anything (except drop-in coils). I like to buy new stuff, now and again, maybe a couple of toppers and a new mod per year. Roughly. I got nic salts because I was curious. Really small stuff. I don't stockpile, either. :)

All good points. I did it for two reasons. First I was able to scoop up those backup mods for $70 each. Considering the raw DNA board in them is $50 it was a hellofa deal IMHO. Second I did it because I am hoping with having 4 of them they last the rest of my life so I am covered no matter what stupid new law gets passed. I guess there is kind of a third reason. I have never been a chaser of the "latest and greatest". Instead I am the type that finds something I like (be it shoes, cars, computers, etc.), get it setup, worn in, or working how I like, then use it and keep repairing and patching it until it is just no longer of any use at all. I just like what I like and prefer to not change unless I have to.

Now if there was anything I didn't like about what I have or was using then yeah I'd keep looking.

Wasp Nano is hard to beat, pity the RDTA has such limited capacity juice wise, otherwise I'd have probably stuck there rather than going on an atty purchasing rampage. DR is a good RDA/RDTA, but the Wasp trump's it flavour wise IMO and it really bugs me when I purge the coils I get a faceful of hot, steaming vape o_O.

I buy multiples of some things I really love.

I will also put away some things I really love after I've vaped them for a while, and that way I don't get bored.

I'm sort of haphazardly stockpiling SOME stuff I know I will use forever, but really no more than one of each tank/mod. Also I don't expect my backups to last forever, which is why I will also try new things as they come. To an extent. NO squonking a rabbit hole I just can't go down.

Also I'm not a fan of pods.

I have spent less on mods this year than last year. Then again it is February.

I get it!
But y favorite has always been squonking, just it was too high maintenance and I didn't like the mechanical aspect.
My new setups are easy peasy.
Thing about squonking is that arguably it wets the cotton way better than tanks.

My new setups remedy all that and very reasonably priced
The Ijoy Capo along with the SRDA was only $40.00
And the Maze was around $20.00
Both have completely setup wicked Coils that screw into the deck. No Building although with the SRDA you can rewick.
Course I'm going through a boatload of liquid. Sigh
On the other hand if my seals start to leak down the road, I may be singing a different tune.

I'm not complaining my new Squonker is providing tremendous flavor.

I’ve been a diehard mech squonker for years, I know what I like in attys (single coil, restricted lung hit flavor RDAs) and occasionally pick up a new one if it looks like it will fit my profile.

Before Christmas I thought I’d give RTAs a try, just for fun. I picked up a couple of Aegis Legends and several RTAs (the flurry).

They were pretty good but a couple of weeks ago I bought an EVL Reaper V3 in the classifieds. It is as close in flavor production to any of my RDAs as anything I have ever tried. I liked it so much, and it’s style doesn’t really fit with a Legend, that I pre-ordered a XvoStick just for it.

My go to remains, and as far as I am concerned always will remain, my mech squonkers but the Reaper has been a nice addition for a change of pace.

Flurry over (for now ;))

Probably not.

Personally though, I have up chasing a different or "better" vape some years back. All the gear I use regularly is stuff that's built to last a lifetime. I haven't smoked in over five years, and when I did, I wasn't pursuing a different or better smoke either.
