Hi, I’m Delores, and I have chronic shinyitis.

ATM, I’m happy with my stuff, getting a satisfactory vape, but still, if I see something interesting I buy it. I don’t buy stuff just because it’s a good deal, although I do like a bargain. I have more mods and tanks than I’ll ever wear out if I live to be 100. But still, I’m having fun and it’s cheaper than smoking.

Spurry of activity.

I do this....... well kind of.
In the beginning when I was first giving up the focus on how everything worked and the different liquids, hardware etc really helped to take the mind and body away from that 30 year addiction so that I gradually became reprogrammed :)

This then becomes habitual and so I'm always trying to learn something new and the vape industry moves so quickly that it's worth the look. I think that basically I swapped the ciggie addiction for the technical side of vaping :)

That's what I think you're doing ;):cry::thumbs:

I never chased a better cigarette like I chase a better vape. I smoked one type of cigarette and that was it.

It’s amazing how much effort and money I put into vaping compared to smoking though.

Ive always loved electronic “gadgets” as well so it’s doubly enticing to me!!

Lol, being a lipo mod guy who only uses non sub ohm drop in coil tanks I don't get excited too often at all.

Sat with my ego until the first Istick came out- now that was exciting! VW and an ohm reader was awesome also.
Waited 2 yrs until the Nautilus was trustworthy and now the Zenith altho both aren't exciting at all, lol.

That's it really, a handfull of mods and tanks.

What's most exciting is when someone new comes here looking to quit smokes and is full of enthusiasm.

At the new prices in CA around $8.00 a pack even if one is a 1/2 a day smoker that's $120 a month.

Bet over a long period of time you don't spend more on vaping?

My shinyitis is settling, personally. It was REALLY BAD at the beginning.. A lot less so now I buy more judiciously... But sometimes, expensively.

Mine comes in spurts. Asid from the high end stuff the middle end stuff has become so much more reasonable through the years that in my spurts I still spend less than before.

I do not really get bored. I know some will disagree but I do not see that much difference in boxes other than the battery life. I mainly use wattage and have 4 boxes that I use regularly and 8 that are away -- 6 new. Out of the 6 - 3 are duplicates but I do not do that anymore. They all take batteries either 1, 2, or 3 and depending on where I am going determines what I use.

If anything, for me it is the tanks that I like to experiment with. I seem to be in search of the perfect rta that is high capacity and never ever leaks but what I have works very well and I am a very satisfied and happy vaper.

In my case, the reason I am the way I am is probably because I was a huge analog smoker - way back when - 7 years ago and I did not experiment with brands. I had the one I stuck to and smoked myself silly. So now that I have stuff that works, I am like really happy.

It's actually kind of cool that I keep 4 out and I am especially happy that I never have to worry about running out of anything.

    Life is good!

Just curious if I'm alone. Seems like I find a vaping solution that I'm happy with. It lasts for around 6 Months to a Year. Then I get bored and find myself chasing new and improved Equipment with a Spurry of activity.

For example March of 2018 I started vaping exclusively with the Joyetech Penguin so 11 months with one system.

    Then in the past month:

    I've bought 2 pod systems:
Joyetech Magic Atopack → Haven't tried yet I ordered it from China because not available in the U.S. Got tired of waiting and bought the Artery Pal 2
Artery Pal 2 → Very Nice

    A Squonker with Tank Combo:
Ijoy Capo with Combo SRDA Tank
Reason I bought it was that I used to squonk and loved it but there were no regulated devices and I got tired of building the Attys. This one you can replace the Atty on the deck with prebuilt. Had to try it and it's tremendous.

I forgot that the Combo SRDA Tank allowed you to replace the atty so I
bought a VandyVape Maze Squonking RDA. It's Amazingly good.

Oh on top of that I'm trying new Nicotine base and Nicotine Salts from Nude Nicotine because I'm looking for milder Nic hit.

Oh and I put up a post about VG. I use the Mountain Rose Organic VG which is smoother than any other VG I've tried and one thing lead to another and I bought VG from Nic river then saw that they have Nic Salts at way lower price then Nude Nic so bought 250ml of the Smooth Nic Salt 100mg along with there VG. Tonight is very dangerous, just got paid and have a little left over.

It all seems to happen at once! And So Expensive!!!!!

I'm not complaining my new Squonker is providing tremendous flavor.
I'm not even sure what a spurry is! :)
But like @ScottP , I don't do a lot of chasing. And like @Katya , I don't really buy many multiples. Like @Ryedan , I did have several doggies, because they were cheap, and just the best thing available by far.

But I learned with the doggies and KM3's, that things change quick. So I have several KM3's that were once the best ever, and I no longer use. I have several doggies that were once the best ever, and now I've found the True MTL rta. I won't get more than 2 of these, because I now know that something better is inevitably going to come along.

Mods? I'd probably never buy more than one of a single type.

...BUT if you find something you like and never try anything else, then as far as you are concerned what you have is the best. :D
Yeah, hard to argue with that! I wasn't even looking for something better when I was using doggies, though. I'm "kind of" where you are... not really looking, but hard not to see stuff you might like if you're active here. I resist pretty well, but happened to win the True MTL and was blown away. So I'm pretty good right now, unless I win something better. :)

Yep that’s my “problem” as well. Not buying as many things but the items I do purchase are of higher quality which means higher price unfortunately lol!!

I used to buy the much more expensive stuff. But now I'm finding that the low and middle end stuff is pretty darned good.
$40.00 to $60.00 is my sweet spot for a regulated Mod + Atty Combo
    And $20.00 - $35.00 for a Pod System.

My shinyitis has shifted into dealitis. I occasionally find one of the things I really like on clearance and grab a couple. Most of it sits boxed up for the vapocalypse while I continue to happily vape the same setup I've been using for a few years. I punctuate the monotony with a tasty modern subohm setup. When bored and itching to buy I open a box or two in the stockpile, admire all the pretty things and settle down.

It's still far less boring than being a slave to the same cigarettes year after year!

    ...
I have that dealitis syndrome too (which sounds better than cheapa**itis) ... and I routinely stalk the clearance sections to find more stuff I don't need ... sigh.

Nope, I have saved over 20k by not smoking and even with my shinyitis, I have not spent over 5k on vaping in 9 years. I consider that a win win any day.
