I dunno Imeo...that's pretty hot. My buddy has his meter at his shop..he'll be back this weekend and is coming over to get setup on e-cigs..so I'll tell him to bring it with him and we'll do a few tests. I'll letcha know...!
Also..in the meantime check out these...they are much higher rated(and of course cost a bit more..LOL!)

nice idea mwa but you just describe the current AFS buddy. AFS works like this. It feeds the carto's filler with liquid. Also the current AFS is better because if I make it like you said the filler will be very fat and far away from the coil so liquid will not reach the coil at all after some period of time
no no no not the current AFS at all Imeo, OK now you see what I mean I think right, coil wire wraps around the filler instead of straight up the center??

Ok..the results are in from the infrared thermometer test:
It didn't work...It registered 90F for the 510 atomizer aimed right at the orange/red coil.
We also tested it on a lit cigarette and it got to 93F.
We then tested it on a light bulb and it hit 139F, so the conclusion is that there is not enough surface area or the bridge is deflecting the proper reading. We also figure the ash is blocking a good reading on the cigarette.

Yeah, We all have to remember that atomizers are not meant to last months. Yes, sometimes you get one or a few to last way way longer then ya thought...but you will find many that were made poorly, the air pull on many of them is different even though its the same type of atty.
I used to try to make a atty last long, but now, instead of putting myself through agony, I'll toss it if it isnt performing well. I used to try everything to bring it back, etc etc.
The last year almost I have stocked at any givin time 50-60 attys....A bunch of 801 type, 901 type, 510 type, iatty type, etcetc.... SO as soon as one dips in performance I watch carefully, and when it hits a certain point, I just toss it.....If I get 2 weeks to 20 days, I am happy. Sometimes it happens, Sometimes it doesnt. It is what it is...lol

I hear ya on that one and back that Hefner, theres just nothing like vaping a new Atty and it sucks vaping one thats not performing heck with smokes at 6-7 bucks a pack and smoking 2 -3 packs a day like I use to it's no big deal spending 3-6 bucks for an Atty that last a week or two, I just purchased 100 LR510's about 3 weeks ago for $3 EACH, that was a deal I couldnt pass up and glad I did it and there still $3 each from that place and always will be, Atty's have gotten cheaper and cheaper, it's only new stuff that hits the vaping market that seelms to be high on price than it comes down accept for really custom mods and there worth paying extra for IMHO
nope Imeo...I didn't tear it up...I'm a bit short on atties atm and it was a relatively new one..was working fine. I think it's the infrared thermometer itself that didn't want to register on such a small surface. The cigarette did the same thing.
Maybe one of the fancier ones would be more sensitive, but I'm not sure that technology will work after seeing this today. It may require some type of thermometer probe..to be down in the atty when it's fired to give a good reading and I have no idea what that be.
I made a small research on internet and I saw that atty has a temperature of 300 Celsium degrees. Ggero was right about this. Ok, I know now what is going on
