If you want to close the gap between the GGTS and AFS v2:

:danger:
You shouldn't do this unless you're absolutely sure you have the skill to undo the steps below
I accept no responsibility for the actions you take. No one is forcing you to modify your GG.
Read the entire post before considering following it.

For the OCD types, there is a ton of stuff in the cap that has never been cleaned.

  1. Remove the cap of the GG
  2. Pull the center pin out
    • An o-ring may come out in the following steps. It is tiny, and a pain to put back. It goes in the threaded black plastic piece.
  3. The flat bolt should be thumb tight, unscrew it.
  4. The bigger bolt is the most tightened part of the GGTS, you'll need a 15/32 socket (it's a little loose, maybe 1 size smaller) and wrench. In metric try 11.5mm or 12mm. Conversion Table
    • Only loosen the nut a small bit (break the seal), no need to take it off.
  5. Put the flat bolt and pin back in. O-ring too, if it came out.
Now when you screw an atty, carto, or AFS on, you'll feel it stop where it normally does. You can stop there for a normal appearance, or twist a bit more, and instead of getting tighter, it will loosen the cap assembly, and sink.
When the cap assembly becomes longer you will need to make the GG longer to accommodate it.
I think this is safe to do, because it doesn't change the mechanics of the device. I've had my GG setup like this for about 15 hours, and I haven't had an issue.
Note: If you "sink" an atty or carto instead of an AFS, the airflow to it will be lessened. If you go too far, there will be zero airflow. An AFS obviously won't have that problem.

To reverse the actions taken, repeat steps 1 through 5. Instead of loosening in step 4a, tighten. If that doesn't work, you're on you own, I warned you at the beginning.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but I don't screw anything hard.
On the GG anyway.

Will the GGTS AFS mount flush like this?

I mean that the touch between cap and brass connector has to be sweet not to make marks on the surface of the cap.

I didnt understand what you said by this: "Will the GGTS AFS mount flush like this?" Sorry for my english:D

Yep, they are gently touching, and not very tight at all.

The AFS for GGTS, is there a picture of it on top of the GGTS? Will the connection have a gap?

I'm not sure it warrants its own thread, but I made a 3D model of my GGTS. I have hosted the viewer on my website.
Its my personal website, no commerce or revenue.

Enjoy!

Mike, what a nice piece of art buddy!!!!!!!! Exellent work my good friend:thumb::thumb:

There is no gap, did you notice my video? The GGTS cap is replaced with the collector tank now:)

If I had more GGs I could model them all, heh. I'll be on the lookout for that video, I'm already hooked.

Threading the AFS down to the cap is ok, but it does not make the unit smaller as the brass tube becomes longer, it is just optical illusion. I will go for the TS-AFS, because that will be totally beautiful on the GG-TS!!!

Mike wanted to eliminate only the gap so he found that trick Emonty. But I agree with you about the total length.

Right TOTAL length is the same but the gap is gone. We have been doing this for a while now but didn't want to cause any problems for anyone. (Lisa found out by accident and told me to try it and I liked it a lot) The brass part will make scratches on your top cap if you screw it down too far. Plus I am getting a little tarnish on the top cap now after using mine this way for weeks now. I really like using my V2 on the GG Transformer most of all and wait for the new GGTSAVS.....

O this trick works well for the Beta tank as well... looks really cool now. You still need a tiny gap to allow air flow but it sure helped with the overall look of the GGTS and Beta tank. The picture is with a 18500 AW and i3.

I really think you could keep making the beta style tank for cheap and keep that system. I think it works GREAT!!!!! You could make a plastic mouthpiece with an oring holding it in place with a flange holding the tank in place. Then knurl the cap too...

Especially love that old beta tank. They are a very sought after collectors item these days.
