I stocked up on Provari's for external batt mods but also have a Solo, Jac and mini Dani. I know Provari's last, so that is why I picked them. You can still find a few around. But cost effective I say get some Solos for $35 each

Just want to point out that if you spend $60 and use the coupon code, the Solo is only 26.00 on ejuices.com

It's a nice combo if I find myself not wanting to build a coil. (RBA deck isn't here yet)

Did anyone have a link to the RBA deck for the solo?
The RBA deck that works in the Cerebus tank that comes in the solo kit is the the one for the Smok TFV8 baby. I got mine from Fasttech years ago or if you have a TFV8 baby a rebuild deck comes with it so check your box.

Baby Beast RBA Head by SMOK This I think is the right one but do some homework on if the baby beast and the baby are the same deck

    Somewhere out there
I don’t think I was too clear in my post. I normally use just RBAs and mostly make my own coils.

However, I’ve got some health issues that aren’t going to improve and cause my hands to tremble. And I’m not getting any younger lol!!

It’s for those times & flares that having sub ohm tanks with drop in coils become essential.

This summer I tore a tendon in my thumb and was unable to even build with pre made coils. Fortunately I had my stash Cascade tanks and GT coils and it was a “lifesaver”!!!

But you’re so right- RBAs are definitely the way to go for me when physically able :)
You never know when a health issue will pop up, I had physical health issues this spring & summer and I was exhausted from physical therapy and Dr apts so I used my T18 the whole time. I could not sit in a chair to rebuild so thank goodness for drop in coils when you need them! I am back to rebuilding thank goodness :)

Check out myth number 8 in this great video by Mooch. About 8 1/2 mins in.

So, according to Mooch it isn't advisable to store batts in the fridge or freezer. Freezer can cause them to explode. I think the same would be true for internal batt mods, I wouldn't put them in the freezer or fridge.
All of that contradicts the science on this page: https://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/how_to_prolong_lithium_based_batteries

Now I am all sorts of confused... lol

Still a better price than most places that sell them for $37. You did good.

The reason for freezing them is that I did some quick research on batteries and this is what I found:

The typical estimated life of a Lithium-Ion battery is about two to three years or 300 to 500 charge cycles, whichever occurs first.

Storing batteries in freezer at 40% charge vs 100%:
    ...........40% charge.............100% charge
    0°C......98% (after 1 year)....94% (after 1 year)
    25°C....96% (after 1 year)....80% (after 1 year)
    40°C....85% (after 1 year)....65% (after 1 year)
    60°C....75% (after 1 year)....60% (after 3 months)

I was hoping packing them in plastic bags with silica gel packets would protect the electronics...

Does anyone else think this is a bad idea?
For long-term storage, I would consider a vacuum sealer rather than plastic bags. Plastic bags do not seal all that tightly.

NP. The thing that was interesting is that you're better off storing your batteries at a 40% charge than a 100% charge. I did not know that. I did know that storing batteries at a cool temperature was better, but the 40% thing was a surprise.
Yes, li-ion batteries should not be stored at full charge.

I think you may be misinterpreting what Mooch said. Every spec sheet for a li-ion cell I've seen allows storage down to home freezer temperatures or lower, so I do not think there is a risk of explosion there.

What's potentially dangerous is charging them while they are cold. They must be allowed to come back up to normal operating temperature before charging them!

Also, Mooch recommends against refrigerator or freezer storage because he's worried about condensation and corrosion. But of course these can be mitigated. He also thinks there's little to be gained by storage at cold temperatures, but he (and I) are now both doing some testing. The problem is there's no way to accelerate that testing, so it will be 6 months to a year (or longer) until we have any usable data.

Well, I've now got the 4 original Majesty 225w's and 4 new Solos.. and I might get a few more Solos if I like them (the reviews, images, and descriptions were great)...

The solos fill my need for something less heavy to carry outside the house which is what those built-in battery mods were for. Instead of keeping them in the freezer I will probably just rotate the built-in battery mods until they die and then switch to the Solos.

I now just need to overcome my spoilage fears in order to get like 4 more liters of 100mg nic to add to my 5.5L.

I’ve been using a built in battery mod for 5 years with one tank with no backups. I started shopping (hoarding) two weeks ago and finally feel comfortable with the ban. My credit card is not feeling so good. I don’t think you will be disappointed with the solos...love mine.

Eleaf istick picos are small but I have never used one but I have three being shipped as we speak. They are popular for a small mod option. It uses an 18650.
