They are obviously dropshipping. Nothing wrong with that but with heavy, voluminous items like glass bottles, shipping is already expensive. When you buy from a dropshipper, it can get really expensive.

I've been dealing with Packaging Options Direct for years now, even before I started vaping. They're a major glass and plastic container, lids, caps, etc. supplier to many industries and businesses. They run a big Clearance sale usually at least 2 times a year, and that's when I buy everything I'll need for awhile. The prices then are so ridiculously low, that even with their regular S/H charge...the items are still WAY lower priced than elsewhere. Several times a year they also run 1/2 off on S/H, and/or Free S/H for orders a certain amount or above.

I don't know what you mean by "they are obviously dropshipping". The only company that I knew of years ago, that was an actual glass bottle manufacturer was Owen Illinois. Every other seller of glass containers, plastic containers, caps, lids, etc. that I'm aware of doesn't make their own "stuff".

ETA: If you meant that they are obviously dropshipping because their items ship from several different locations...that doesn't necessarily mean they're dropshipping. The company my Dad worked for most of his career had locations in several states. They'd ship items a buyer ordered from whatever location had the In Stock quantity the buyer needed, or had the color(s) or size(s) the buyer wanted, etc. Shipping from various locations doesn't "obviously" mean a company's dropshipping, IMO.

For clear bottles:

If you want clear bottles over 8 oz, this site has them TrueEssence.com and their pricing and shipping seem reasonable.

But I have no idea if the caps on the bottles are poly caps or foam lined caps. Emailed them at around 4PM today, never heard back. Will wait for tomorrow. Otherwise, I will order from Amazon and my 16 oz. bottles will have to be amber. Other places I have found clear 16 oz bottles have shipping through the roof.

Also, you have to buy cases, no singles.

@UncleJunkle as far as storage is concerned, do you drink cheap wine? 1Gal glass bottles with caps (wine included) are pretty cheap and clear, sterilize those, buy a few smaller sizes for breaking down your supply, might be more cost effective. Homebrew shops have the Gal bottles even cheaper, but then you don't get the wine. :) Just some ideas.

I don't drink. Also, I don't buy any food that comes in glass.

Even if I did, the rubbery plastic seals under the caps is hard to clean 100%. I'm not contaminating my apocalypse stash.

I do appreciate your willingness to help me save money, though. But I have to think about keep the stash good and clean and safe.....or quit, of course.

I don't want wine or tomato puree or any other food to contaminate my nic.

Regardless, they are the only company that I have come across where the shipping goes sky high just buy adding another case or even just a bottle. Becuase if you choose the "wrong" items, they ship from different places, so naturally shipping can double, just like that.

I looked at other stores, POD are reasonable only for 1 case for the sizes I need, that's it. After that, it gets ridiculous.

Unfortunately, I can't wait for POD's sale (unless you know it will be pretty soon lol). Would love to wait, but I need to protect my apocalypse stash.

We all know it is only a matter of months until we all won't be able to buy nic for anywhere close to the prices we are buying now...if we'll be allowed at all.

Where are you? Hawaii? Lol when I added 6 to my cart the shipping came to 11 bucks.

Literally says under my profile pic bud, hasn't changed since you've been here. :pervy:

1/2 liter at room temp? That's a lot when you consider to make 1/2 liter of juice at 9-10mg you need about about 50ml of nic base. That's another reason why I'm opting to go with a bunch of small bottles.

    To each his own, though.

My liter of MFS 100mg/ml 100%VG nic that I use is about 2/3 gone and 3-4 years old. Has never seen a freezer. It yellow but it tastes fine. Dad the same, his tastes fine too.

Now my stash, is 8 L of mostly HV still in original packages but in a 2.1 cu foot mini freezer way down in the basement.

*edit* I mean to add @Brewdawg1181 s post here asking why we wanted larger bottles here but quoted wrong post and now can't add it.

Literally pure laziness. Less effort to decant. I have (12) 16 oz, (12) 2 oz and I'm about to get (6) 32 oz just to make it that much easier. If I didn't have the freezer space or thought I may use that space for anything else in the future it might be different.

If I had the room, I would definitely go with some larger bottles. Don't get me wrong.

I'm gonna be busy decanting once I get my bottles. then they will be in the freezer for a while. I have probably about a year's worth of bulk eliquid from HV to vape first before I start DIYing with my nic.

I probably have the least amount of nic on this thread. About 6.5 liters if I remember correctly. And one of those is janky juice that oxidized during shipment. I’ll be trying it soon...it’ll be aight I’m sure. I used to drink anything so I’m sure I can vape anything. I may pick up more later but right now I’m so tired I just don’t care. I’m sure I have enough to get me into my 80s and 90s. I’m not opposed to quitting which has been my goal since I started vaping. And I used to vape 1 mg and will probably start mixing it at 1 mg very soon. I think I’m more hand to mouth than nic.

I definitely vape more for the hand to mouth behavior. It helps lower my anxiety. Honestly I could probably vape 0 nic and not notice. I normally vape at 3mgs. I didn’t even notice that I had been vaping 12mg nic on and off for over two weeks.

I have 7 liters in the freezer and if I had to or wanted to drop it to a lower amount it wouldn’t really effect me as long as I was vaping.

I was concerned that I needed more nic but after my hospital stay I think I’ll be perfectly fine with what I have. I would like to get a small freezer though so I can use my refrigerator freezer again lol!

But I have no idea if the caps on the bottles are poly caps or foam lined caps.

The bottles on that site don't include a specific cap. I betcha they'll tell you the cap is foam lined, but polycone ones are available for $.30 each. Maybe not, but those kind of caps are much more expensive than the run-of-the-mill regular caps they'll likely include in the price for the case of bottles.

Where do nic hoarders buy glass bottles for your nic base?

I prefer clear so I can see the color of my nic base in the freezer.

Rossum suggested I look at Amazon and Glass Bottle Outlet. Didn't bother with Amazon yet, but GBO doesn't sell clear glass bottles larger than 4oz. Prefer at least 8 oz and maybe a few 16 oz.

I bought most of my Boston Round bottles on Amazon but they’re amber. I bought 250ml bottles and whatever the next lower amount is.

So initially I divide a liter into four 250ml bottles then into the next then into a smaller container that I’ll use until it’s empty.

There are quite a number of sites that sell those glass bottles but make sure to use the poly-something cap and not the regular caps. I made that mistake initially then had to order caps to fit the different sized bottles I had bought.

Someone will jump in with the correct cap name or maybe you already know all this :D !

For long term storage, it is best to keep them at about a 40% charge... check them every 6-12 months or so.

EDIT: I was catching up on posts... @Rossum beat me to it. ;)

EDIT #2: Also, as @Haktuspit pointed out: I am one of those trying to focus on using my built-in battery mods now and saving my 18650 mods for later as the built-ins will become junk over time.

That’s a great idea to use the internal battery mods now and save the wear and tear on the other mods. I only have one internal battery mod but it still makes sense. I occasionally take it out and check the battery but that’s it.

Like I said though, I have no idea what kind they are. Hoping they get back to me tomorrow.

I wonder if these regulations will increase the price on used gear. You can find some really nice used gear in some classifieds including the one here now that it’s been opened for all. So buying used gear now for the stash might help those that are cash strapped right now.

    I dunno it’s just an idea I had :?:

Some places call them ploy lined cone caps, others call them phenolic cone caps. From the pictures, they seem to be the same. In fact the site I listed above Calls them poly caps in the title then mentions phenolic in the description.

After I recover from the vapocalypse and Christmas shopping, I’ll need to make a final list of things I may need to stock up on. After I pay house insurance. Strategic list. Orings and things. Coils for tanks I was PIF’d. Maybe nic? Pretty mods that are not black like maybe more built in battery mods. I think I only have three and one of those is going on 6 years old. I don’t need much more of anything. I have nothing rainbow colored that I can remember so maybe something like that.

Items like o rings will always be available as well as lots of other stuff we use.

@UncleJunkle - Are these the bottles you're thinking of getting?

16 oz 480 ml Boston Round Bottles

If they are, they need to do some serious reworking of their dimensions shown for them. They also don't tell you what the neck finish is...so you'll know which polycone lined cap from this page to pick:

Caps & Closures - Cone Lined Caps - True Essence

    I'd think they'd likely be the 28-400 or 33-400 though, for a 16oz. bottle.

I am aware their dimensions are not proper. All I need is 16 oz and 4 oz bottles.

The caps are included. See screenshot above.

This is a finite stash. As it dwindles I don't need the bottles...or the caps.

When True Essence bottles come with polycone caps they state it in the description, so I assume one would need to order them once they find out the dimensions.

I set out to order more glass bottles today but instead ordered two more liters of 100mg house nic from Heartland Vapes. Four more years of cheap insurance. Decanting can wait, there's still some room left in the post-Thanksgiving freezer.

I said in my post caps are included, but not which specific caps. You don't want foam lined, which are cheaper and usually the ones included by vendors. The polycone lined caps are always more expensive.

Some places call them ploy lined cone caps, others call them phenolic cone caps.

The "poly" refers to what the cone liner is made of. "Phenolic" describes the plastic the cap is made of. So a phenolic cone cap would be a phenolic cap with a cone-shaped liner in it.

I contacted them and I'm waiting to hear back.

Also, I have been shopping around like mad for the last few hours and every company I have come across states the caps they include are poly. Some have separate listings for each combo.

I will wait to hear from TE before I make my decision to buy from them. I'm not buying capes separately from them, it will be cheaper elsewhere to just buy with the proper poly caps included.
