Sheesh, I had 2 orders delivered yesterday and 6 today with another coming Monday. I'm a girlie, ask me if I'm interested in a new pair of shoes?...no...clothes?...no. Anything vape related
Well my new wardrobe is on hold after vape spending. I can function with clothes that are 2 to 4 sizes to big. Really I can. Ok the shoes are annoying being too big but so far I am managing.

I like Dinner Lady cut with my DIY Lemony Pound Cake. Really a nice combination plus I don't like high VG juice, so it thins it out a bit :)
I DIY, but I broke down, with all the talk, and bought a bottle while it was on sale. I love lemon.
Anyway, I know everyone is trying to figure out the secret flavor that enhances the "pastry"
To me ... it is a touch of mild tobacco, like TFA Smooth, or FA Liquid Amber, maybe even TFA AP
I used to add a dab to the fruits, to give them body, and make them blend with other flavors, like creams, or pastries.
You don't actually taste any tobacco, but I detected the similarity the DL has to mixes I made using some tobacco flavoring.
Just an idea for those still trying to recreate the flavor.

I taste lemon meringue pie in it too, maybe added pie crust?

I have no knowledge of, nor experience with, FA Liquid Amber. But I thought TFA Smooth is an additive used to cut the harshness of some flavorings or mixes, and TFA AP is Acetyl Pyrazine, that adds a "nutty" taste to DIY.

TFA Smooth Tobacco is the full name, and that's just what it is ... a very mild tobacco.
Yes, it will dilute anything since it really doesn't have much flavor, but at the same time it adds "body" and ties flavors together. "Smooth" is a great name for it, because that's what it does .
It smooths out the flavor combos, and unites them.
Actually anyone who enjoys a tobacco flavor won't use it as such because it is super mild and doesn't taste like tobacco.
AP is definitely used in conjunction with pastry flavors.
You don't use enough to give you a "nutty" taste. It's more of a secret ingredient, if used right.
You know there's something there, but you just can't pin point it.
I don't know if he's still around, but there was a highly praised recipe sharer a few years back that would add a touch of pop corn to his strawberry shortcake recipe.
I curled my nose when I read it, but it's amazing how some flavors fall together and change the outcome.
In any case it's just a suggestion for those who want to play with it in one form or another.

When it comes to flavoring, his may be of interest to some ... from Prof in California in 2015

Subject: Strawberry Flavoring Ingredients List

AW7i1az.png

This is the list of ingredients in strawberry flavoring (not the eliquid mind you, just the flavoring). Would you put all of that into your body? I wouldn't, except that pretty much all of the flavors we use have similar ingredients lists, and it's either vape or smoke. Now do you see why it would be so easy for the FDA to claim that vaping is unsafe and should be banned? Just one of those chemicals has to be linked to some trace amount of chemical byproduct when the liquid is heated to an unreasonable temperature for the FDA to claim that vaping causes cancer, and most people will believe them because critical thinking is hard, and most people already believe that vaping is bad for you, so why investigate farther?
Flavoring was intended to digest, not inhale.

Strawberry is known to be one of the most complex flavors to try to reproduce. Most other flavors do have a shorter list of components. That said, the old saw that, "There are only four things in a typical e-liquid" is just plain wrong.

You don't need any flavoring to make that claim. Just heat up a mixture of PG and VG and you'll get trace amounts of bad stuff. But you have to put those amounts in perspective; how does the risk of such amounts of bad stuff compare with smoking? Yep, it's still orders if magnitude lower.

I vape unflavored and I am using a coil that I use for 12-14 hrs a day that is on day #156 (over 22 weeks) and it is just as good as day #1.... had I been using flavoring I probably would have only gotten 14 days+/- depending on the liquid. It does make you wonder what is coating your lungs if it's gobbing up coils. Banning flavoring is not the answer though, eliminating any known bad ingredients is. Doing that is the ONLY thing I can think of that is even remotely positive about the FDA getting involved as long as they use common sense... I am no scientist or doctor, but that strawberry flavoring most likely would/should qualify as harm reduction when compared to combustible cigarettes. And odds are there are some tobacco flavorings out there that might have worse ingredients than the strawberry, so restricting to just tobacco flavoring when it comes to health only concerns is just downright ignorant. Now banning flavoring because all Adults obviously no longer enjoy flavors after age 21, that totally makes sense.

I sort of imagine if an inhalant were truly terrible or one were allergic, one might find out sooner rather than later, to be honest. I think the amount and all is so small....

Oh well, if 40 years from now they find damage, I will be in my 80s. I was getting COPD in my early 40s. My lungs are doing NOTHING but impressing my doctors more and more. They freaking... REFUSED to give me the pneumonia vaccine (that PO'd me) but they were like, "You don't smoke anymore, your lungs are improving, you are too young, you don't meet criteria and your insurance might not pay for it."

I am thinking of paying for it out of pocket. If there is one thing I hate in this world anymore, it's pneumonia. 18 straight months of it will do that to a person..

I almost said, "I vape, does that count?" I mean my old docs knew, but somehow, I don't want to pollute my new medical health record. So I never mention it because I also do not enjoy ARGUING with my docs, I prefer to save that for meds.

Done stocking up. Got 115 (ETA 20, that would be insane even for me) more doggy topfill tanks. They are strangely fragile wen dropped compared to the orginal bottom fill ones.

And yeah, the topfill is handy but I also like, am vain and prefer the "look" of the top fill doggy. I am putting vape bands on EVERYTHING now. It can't hurt. Really. I need to think about my Long Game. Need some Rose V3 tanks but I can only find them on the Fumytech site and shipping is obscene but I MUST vape those tanks for the remainder of my days,.... Maybe next paycheck. Sigh. I WISH these dang high end manufacturers would do like Zen and include a piece of SOME sort of PLASTIC as a back up to their glass tank. The Kabuki has a quartz glass tank though, I believe I broke it the first time I filled it.. But that would be SO MUCH more appealing to me as a back up tank.

Also got two Cylons off FT because they were cheap and I LOVE that vape. My second one died after like 2.5 years of heavy use (daily) and now I have screws to fit and fix the one I gave up on because the top was getting wriggly .So I may not need them for a bit, but I have always wanted a Cylon (the robot kind) to do my bidding anyway, and if I get 8 more years out of my Cylons, I will consider myself happy.

IDK what it IS with that mod, but it (for me) produces some of the best vane of all time for what it its. It's not THE best, but it is very distinctive in an awesome way (to me.) A cylon with a Siren V2 on top? Count me blissful.. Yeah, it has issues, and it is not a forever mod but it is also GREAT.

So stocking up on some wants, but a few more glass tanks and ALL will be MINE.

I honestly don't worry about the flavors. I don't really inhale anymore. Regardless, I think if you analyzed samples of air in your home or outdoors, it would also be full of all kinds of nasty things. *shrugs*
I love flavors and I don't inhale anymore either. I basically vape for deserts :)

Agree, moved half of the mod's from desk to the vape box; needed to cleanup. Down to "just" four. Haha. Couldn't bring myself to store the cylon. Of all my mods, the cylon most consistently and reliably gives a strong and full vape; even versus significantly more expensive mods. Its a heavier mod, built like a tank, highly reliable, with really good TC. And a real steal at $28 (w/CNYRAT15). Fully recommend for anyone looking to fill this niche.

I was just reading some original posts in this thread, it is like a historical journal of vape products available at the time for stocking up when the Deeming regs were released. ECF is a historical document of vaping and the products.

Fasttech sells the tiny screws used for trapping wire on build decks. Seems prudent to have some including for replacing screws before the head might strip. Has anyone bought these and may be know which ones are most commonly used? So far I haven't found an assortment being offered.

If this forum could do the Dolly Parton Challenge, this thread would be the Facebook picture. Picture of your set up would be the Tinder picture.

I had to look up the Dolly Parton Challenge. It wasn't quite what I was thinking it might be.
