Moms (foster or otherwise) don't really like dead animals much. Me and my best friend (her bunny died of natural causes I SWEAR) but we were in the "bones" phase and well, we'd been to the Smithsonian and we knew the insects were best but there WERE other ways of dis articulating and reconnecting bones like boiling the bunny.
We got as much flesh and bone off the bunny as possible, and then we grabbed a big pot. Her mom was out. Her mom was the CALMEST woman I have ever met.
We really didn't work hard enough at getting bunny fur or flesh off, and like, it started (as it boiled) to well, stink. It's not a good smell I am telling you. We had it at a roiling boil, sort of hopefully looking for bones....
Her mom came home. She lost her MIND. She told us we were sinners and to take EVERTHING (including the pot I never want to see it again!) and bury it in the back yard.
Then she would not let us into the house for the rest of the day and told us to "think about what we had done."
It was epic. I will say, if you need a skeleton though, GO with the insects. It's WAY easier.
I mean, imagine if a DINOSAUR had died, I think her mother would have died (or killed us) one or the other,

Yes. We were bummed. We were like "another hour or two of boiling probably would have done it." I guess you get used to the smell, but not if you are a mom, unexpectedly and with no warning like, entering your palace/'kitchen (she was really good cook.)
