I am considering trying it on my old VTC mini. The thing was gifted to me years ago and I never found the original software on it comprehensible to me.

If you find the stock software incomprehensible, Arctic Fox may not be the solution to that.

It would be a good idea to download the manufacturer firmware before you install the Arctic Fox firmware. But honestly, I don't know if it's even possible to reinstall the original firmware back onto a device once you install Arctic Fox onto it, so you may want to find out first before you install Arctic Fox.

I may try this soon just to see if it's possible.

Everyone should understands the nic math (the calculators are good, but it's nice to do a check sometimes [emoji3]):
I vape 30 ml/day of 2 mg/ml strength eliquid.

Daily nic used = 30 ml/day x 2 mg/ml = 60 mg/day

I have 6 liters of 100 mg/ml nic base ( actually more, but this is close enough [emoji3]).

6l x 1000ml/l x 100mg/ml = 600,000 mg of nic

This nic is enough to last (if stored properly):
600,000mg / 60mg/day = 10,000 days

10,000 days/365.25 days/year = 27.4 years

Alternately, if I calculate for a single liter I would see that 1l is good for over 4.5 years.

well, if I am dripping, I only vape... 4ml in a day. Less if I am working full time. And many days, I only vape PG/VG with no nicotine until after lunch. I use 3mg when I am using nicotine, but I can drop down to 2mg no problem. I sometimes order 1.5 from sites that have the option. If I am using a squonk bottle to rejuice I go through much more liquid for whatever reason, like 10ml. But, if I ever have to break into the emergency stash of nicotine, I can make some sacrifices lol.

Since I couldn't figure the dang thing out I have hardly ever used the dang thing. I am a simple kanthal wire, single coil, wattage/voltage vaper and just never could get it dialed in to what I like. Tempted to try it

I just went to the Joyetech Evic VTC Mini firmware download page and it shows that one of the improvements over the original firmware is a simplified user interface. So you may want to just try upgrading the firmware instead of installing Arctic Fox. That might be all you need if all you want is a more intuitive user interface. The Joyetech upgrade also adds preheat if that's something you wanted.

Just make sure you download v3.05 of the VTC Mini firmware. Joyetech lists that as the latest firmware even though there is a newer version (5.04). It could be that 5.04 isn't preferred by most users or is unstable, never know.

But as an experiment, I just tried to reload the stock Joyetech Elitar firmware on my Elitar and it worked. So if you do install Arctic Fox on your VTC mini and don't like it, you should be able to reinstall the upgraded Joyetech VTC Mini firmware in the above link. (Heavy emphasis on "should". YMMV with these things.)

Thanks I will try the new Joyetech software first. Really appreciate the info and help.

It's been ages since I've posted here, but really would like to keep up with all of you.......
Gosh, I remember when this thread was so busy, I would have to catch up on 2-3, (sometimes) more pages between morning and night.
The good thing about it all is most of us have, not only what we need, but also what we want(ed)

Had some really good and fun times here!

My 2 yo nic that's been in the freezer but 60 ml sitting out on my work station smells like an ashtray. It doesn't taste bad. FYI. I probably should pour smaller amounts into bottles.

I wonder if keeping your working bottle in the fridge would stop that from happening so quickly.

Doh! Just checking back in after a few years and this document has 2516 pages!

I bought 2 gallons of Nude Nicotine argon sealed years ago. I popped a new bottle open the other day and it was fine!

Yup! I just opened a bottle from 2016--crystal clear and clean. This was my last V2 bottle--before I switched to V1.

I alternate between CNT and Chemnovatic Nicotine Base. Both are Crystal Clear, Virtually Tasteless, and are about 1 Year Old.

And Both have been kept in a Glass Bottle in the Fridge.

I mix small amounts and keep that diluted base in the fridge. The undiluted base lives in the freezer. I use NN, BTW. FWIW.

I dont mix very often since I make 500 ml at a time

Well in that case sounds like just storing your working bottle in the freezer would be better than the fridge, even if it is in a plastic bottle. Just take it out the night before you need to mix.
